Bathroom needed a bit of a clean. Given that I only stayed one night it served its purpose. I feel its the perfect place for a stop over and I suppose if you're looking for something cheap and convenient this would be the place to go. Staff are pretty good customer service-wise.

Great experience with this hotel, I got drunk on new years and puked on the carpet, it was pretty bad, still the staff was not fussy and understood the situation and only charged me $250 to change the room even in that busy period. The rooms are absolutely clean and have basic everyday requirement electronics like a hairdryer, a microwave, an iron and a decent TV. The thing that can be improved is that there needs to be a fan in the room.

First time staying here. Wifi was absolutely terrible, cuts out every bloody 5 minutes so I’ve had to use data for the trip. Room was ok nothing fancy but was cleaned well so that’s a good thing. Good views of the city and in a really really good area. Overall not bad

Excellent staff and great location. Finding the entrance is tricky if you haven't visited before - look for the bronze man and his dog along the street opposite the grand looking building - there's elevators nearby and the reception is on Level 7.

The location of the Hotel is very convenient, very central. The room listed to accommodate 3 people is not suitable for 3 adults. The hotel for its age is very over prices. A shame during COVID lockdown the hotel didnt take the opportunity to do some maintenace on one the rooms.

I stayed at the hotel one night. The room was clean with an amazing view of sea & city. Staff were polite & helpful. The price was reasonable. Paid car park was available. The most convenient thing is its location, right in the center of Wellington CBD. Love it, recommend and I will come back.

Nice clean room, great veiws from our room, the shower pressure was amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly. Good location we parked the car up and walked everywhere.

The stay was good, clean and tidy room and spacious. Dissapointments: The wifi dropping out, 1 & half days using mobile data. Last night went to restaurant, the seafood chowder was lovely😀 the crusted salmon was overcooked and dry and I don't think cauli and brocolli were seasonal vege? plus the time we waited🙄 and the girl that was serving, was lovely but, unfortunately was clueless!?

Surprised, the room was a lot nicer than we expected as the photos didn't do it justice. Nice little gym , better than most hotel gyms in NZ. Walking distance to the main attractions. Microwave and fridge are a definite plus. Love that the windows open. Love that the curtains block out the light so well for the sleep in. Will stay there again. Carpark was extra, but convenient for us to feel it's secure

Reception staff are amazing, friendly and efficient. The room was tidy, and had everything I needed for our one night stay. Beds were a little firm, but that's just a preference. The security at the travelodge is really good too, and I like that there are two entrances. I was very disappointed by service at the restaurant and the breakfast. I would not go back for a meal, but will be back to stay.

Found Ani at Travelodge Hotel to be verry professional while warm, courteous, welcoming & extremely helpful... 5* to him alone. I was a commercial cleaner 5+yrs & from what I seen the rooms were in good condition. Would definately go back

Great view, rooms were good value for money and right by the Plimmer steps for easy access to the main street. I was here during both a covid level change in the city as well as a fire evacuation! The hotel staff were well organised and professional for both of these with masks and sanitiser available, and someone on our floor during the fire evacuation to show us what to do.

The absolute perfect location as a base for exploring Wellington. Nothing was too much trouble for the warm and friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended for no fuss easy accommodation.

Our room was lovely and clean . Staff amazing as always, as we have stayed there a few times now. Only comment is the trip hazard heading into the bathroom...tripped and stubbed my toe on the entrance into the bathroom. Be very worrysum for an elderly person .

Restaurant service needs a bit of work. Meals (6) came out 15 minutes apart and the vegetables didn't come out at all. Rooms good.

Enjoyed my stay with my friends. Comfortable rooms were a bit snug but appreciated the little extras in our room, like the mini fridge, sky tv and free toiletries. Fantastic location, will happily stay again as long as we don't get charged excessively early again

A Travelodge is a Travelodge is a Travelodge. If you've stayed in one in the southern hemisphere, you'll know what you're getting here. The staff are courteous, the rooms are clean, and the security is reliable. I'll admit, I didn't quite think the cost was worth the stay, however as mentioned, if you want a known-quantity with your stay, and no uncertainty as to what you get, this place is ideal. The in-hotel restaurant, Steps, served a surprisingly excellent three course meal with variety beyond what most hotel restaurants serve. Go for the grilled haloumi salad or the caramelised mushrooms for your starters (don't order the mushrooms as a main - the portion size is very small), and the pan-fried fish with buckwheat salad for the main, and be impressed. The room I stayed in had three unusual and slightly-to-moderately irritating quirks - none ruined the stay: 1. The windows very clearly are not often washed, so our view was murky and watermarked 2. The King bed sagged so comically in the middle, I was tempted to sleep at the top of the bed only, at a 90 degree angle to the actual bed orientation, because I awoke with such back stiffness that I had to roll to the end of the bed in order to stand up in the morning. 3. In the middle of my second night, the bathroom tap began to leak so badly that it was actually just running, like the tap was on. Because the sink is shallow, you can't capture the stream of water to save it and avoid it being wasted. Unfortunately, when I mentioned this to staff the next morning, there didn't quite seem to be a high level of concern, which was mildly frustrating since it's literally just wasting water.

Very nice room, a little difficult to fine being up the Plimmers stairs, and we had a privacy door that 2 rooms were off which would work for families or a group that is traveling together but our neighbours were very loud talking and banging the doors and woke us up at 7am we had planned to sleep in after our previous early starts. Really enjoyed our desserts. Although when I phoned reception they got it sorted immediately. Thank you.

This doesn't pretend to be a five star hotel, but it was spotlessly clean. Our room, with a harbour view, was a good size, with a huge, comfortable bed, and a bathroom you could easily swing a cat in. We found the staff to be helpful, and friendly. There is a restaurant and a bar, but we never had occasion to use these facilities.

Very clean and staff friendly and helpful. The accessibility is a problem after 5 pm. You have to be able to climb a flight of roughly 20 steep steps. The elevator down to lambton quay is not available after 5 pm and this is not made clear on the website. Would recommend this hotel as long as you have no disability issues

Great location.great service and nice view from the 21st floor....but the no hot water was a big issue for our first night but got a nice buffet breakie for the inconvenience will stay again

I enjoyed my stay. A bit musty when you enter however staff are friendly, my room was roomie and the shower was bloody fantastic. Great pressure. Food was very average but you have choices in and around town. I'd definitely go back again.

Stayed there march 2018 with my adult son in a twin room. Friendly check in, lovely dinner room service, smallish but tidy and perfectly functional room, later check out than usual...11am. Able to store bags while we attended event. Highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here 2 nights. Great location in the CBD near cafes, banks, supermarket, bars etc. Reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. My room had two windows I could open to cool the room down. I believe other rooms had a pedestal fan in them. Microwave oven, with cutlery and crockery allows a dine in the room option. Iron + ironing board in the room. The hairdryer in my room didn't work, and even though I asked for a replacement several times, I was never provided with another. I would definitely stay here again.

Only bad points our room 1505 didn't have a kitchen sink, so glasses of water and jug filling had to be done from the bathroom sink which I find to be gross.

Stayed there 3 nights with 3 friends. Reception was very helpful when I accidently broke a bottle in the lift. Special thanks to Anahera, great customer service and always very polite!!

Nice place in CBD of Wellington makes it a good choice for business visitors. My room was smaller but ok for 3 days. It is clean and tidy. If you want to do some work on laptop that may not be the most comfortable since there was only a small round table. This is my main/only complain. My rating would be 3.5 stars if possible.

Very central location hotel. King room was clean and the bed comfy. A little on the small side, but OK for a short stay.

I really enjoyed my recent stay for business, amazing location (2mins to Lampton Quay, 3 mins to The Terrace), very friendly staff but a couple of areas to be aware of. There are 2 primary factors for me when choosing a hotel: onsite car parking and decent internet. Parking onsite at the Travelodge is $28/night... taking this extra cost into account over 2 days I may have chosen another hotel in a higher price range. Also when I searched for the hotel it advised "free High-Speed Internet" as I run online Workshops, Skype/Teams meetings etc good internet is a must. Unfortunately, I ended up running off data on my phone as the hotel wifi stayed below 1mb/s most of the time making running my meetings etc basically impossible. This is a great hotel for people on Holiday to Wellington however if you are traveling for business I would look into other options :)

Large multi level building located in the heart of Wellington . Has a 24 hour concierge / reception, car parking, in-house restaurant that is also open for breakfast and room service. Rooms are generous in space and comfortable. In room safe, microwave and fridge. Public car parking and Disabled car parking. Public and disabled toilets / rest rooms located inside. Is a wheel chair friendly facility. Has free WIFI. I had a room that had partial views of the bay.

Clean, tidy and has everything you need. Lucky to get a lovely harbour view.

Good location to transport, work, sights and restaurants / cafes. Rooms are basic, but everything you need as you should be outside exploring the city. Bed and pillows are comfortable. The breakfast is expensive for what it is, so go visit a local cafe and have a decent coffee. Has a gym on-site. Countdown and new world metro are nearby.

The conference facility was good and comfortable. Room had arctic blasts coming in from a broken window. Great location we were able to walk to most of our destinations. Kipps cafe in the shopping mall immediately outside Travelodge is great for breakfasts etc. Recommendation: Do not expect anything and check the bill closely.

The hotel was a nice place to stay. The card key did deactivate too often but other than the rooms were clean, the food was good and the service was pleasant.

Let me start by saying I stay in a LOT of hotels due to work. Travelodge was a very pleasant surprise. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was friendly and went out of their way to help accommodate me (no pun intended). The restaurant was fantastic with great, pleasant service and delicious w ea ll presented food. I have to stay here again in a few weeks and am really looking forward to it.

Reception personal good approach and great explanation about the parking.Otherwise you will get more cost if you park a wrong places.They only problem that I have experience,is my enternet was very slow.I've struggle to get the signal inside my room.Room is pretty much Clean.bathroom is small.

The first scent you get hit with is an old musty smell. Like mothballs and scent od moth balls from nana and grandpas drawers. For the faint hearted it would be easy to spin around and take off but consider this. It may not be the ritziest place but give the place a chance. The staff are super friendly. My bed was king and super comfortable. The room was quite roomie and the hot water and pressure from the shower was magnificent and something that I would return for. For that I can forgive the musty smell. The food may not be anything to sing home about, it's a new menu so ok, just slightly over cooked for my liking. You have other options in the CBD so no stress. Another thing the scene from my bed looking out the window (even through curtains) held a special charm. Perhaps I am a romantic but the juxtaposition of the high rises reminded me of my room in Manhattan with Its unique spattering of high rises to me is breath taking. There are pros and cons but I reckon you could forgive all the faults and actually stay here and feel at peace. Just bring a freshner and Bob's your uncle. My verdict, yeah I'd come back.

Another fantastic accommodation in Wellington that I've had the sheer pleasure of staying at. Great room service, all staff and duty managers treat you very well and will take care of your every whim (so long as you're reasonable 😝). I stay in hotels extremely often and I found this to be one of the places where staff were actually nice to patrons because they are nice rather than because they are being paid to be nice. I'm quite a pernickety person and they did not let me down on any detail. So much so I felt the need to express my gratitude to those I had dealt with during my stay. I would most definitely stay here again. So thanks once again to the staff for the wonderful experience.

I got a very good Winter Weekend deal and very happy with my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and even stored our bags for us until we could check in. We were given a nice room on the 20th floor. Can't beat the price and location together a great package.

Had a bit of hassle checking in even though we had booked on their own website. Seemed to take much longer then it should have. Apart from that it was a good stay on excellent central location. Would definitely return. Note the parking has a height limit of 2.2 meters- not stated to us on the phone.

Rooms are clean, spacious and pocket friendly. In addition they come with a kettle, microwave and fridge so you can stock up on food from local restaurants or supermarkets and warm up later. It's also situated close to a popular shopping area of the city as well as within walking distance of the Westpac stadium if you're in town for some rugby or a concert. The breakfast options are also not bad. Highly recommended.

My first visit. A clean and friendly hotel situated on the strip where all the hotels are a challenge to find due to the topography. Centrally located. There are lifts up to reception from Lambton Quay if you can find them. Rooms are comfortable, but I couldn't adjust the temperature and the person above sounded like he was on a trek wearing Hobnail boots. TV was dark (often a problem with hotel room TV's). Breakfast was very good, but the wait for the lift in the morning was endless. There are other lifts own from the Terrace side, in the car park.

Had an enjoyable stay at the Travelodge. Fantastic location right in the city, with many shops and attractions to see around. The room was a two bed studio, both beds being single, as we couldn't find any twin rooms with larger beds. For a few nights it was pretty reasonable, and I was happy with how quiet the rooms were - the sounds of the city were non-existent. The bed was very comfortable - shame it was a single, but regardless I slept very well. We had a fire alarm go off on the Saturday night which was a disturbance, however when idiots pull the alarm for no reason in a neighbouring building, you can't do much about that. An apology letter was sent out to the guests; short and simple. Although the fire alarm was not triggered by the hotel team itself, for the sake making difficult customers complacent, a beverage voucher or something may have been in order to show a sense of sincerity. Staff were accommodating and friendly. The lady we checked in with didn't say too much and didn't offer a particularly personalised service, although housekeeping staff, the cute and bubbly restaurant waitress, and the three jovial, vibrant, knowledgeable, and friendly reception staff encountered on our day of checkout (Sunday morning) were very friendly. I didn't have the breakfast service, but the guest I was staying with said it was very very good (and it was a buffet!). I did have the restaurant food at dinner, which was average. I ordered an IPA yet received a Pilsner. The second time round, I reordered the IPA and was informed it was out of stock. We ordered three plates of cheesy garlic bread for our table of 6, and were served non-generous portions; each plate had two pieces. For the price that isn't justified, however it did taste pretty good (although I'm a sucker for cheese!). Pasta main course felt like it was some heat and eat, with mediocre and tasteless sauce. It filled me up, and that was about it. I skipped desert, but some of my companions had desert. A couple paid what I feel is an unreasonable amount for three scoops of Kapiti ice cream, although the apple crumble looked nice and was enjoyed. That aside, you're in the middle of Wellington, so I would say get out and explore the vast and tasteful cuisine around the area, which has better value for money (in my opinion) anyway! 4 stars and reasonable value. If I were travelling to Wellington again, it is a location I wouldn't hesitate to consider staying in again. A positive experience! Restaurant was average, but if you subtract that from the equation, you have central, friendly, and practical accommodation and a great opportunity to explore the CBD!

Impressed with ease of location and easy access. Check in a breeze. Rooms tidy and comfortable. BUT after a long drive(8hrs) we felt like a cup of tea and a biscuit to wind down before bed. Tea and coffee there. NO biscuits. Yes normally we travel with gingernuts. Any way, a comment to reception in the morning and hello, when we returned in the afternoon, there were 2 little parcels of biscuits. Emmy, you're the the best!

We were able to have a room on the 22nd floor as requested on our booking. Staff friendly and helpful. Good selection on the Room Service menu including late night menu. Awesome views! Will stay again!

Comfortable bed, warm shower, nice view of the city, water views (over level 17). Staff are friendly. Restaurant is good, and plenty of other options nearby if you feel like going out to eat.

Travelodge is Wellington is prime location. Having visited for business reasons . I found the streets fascinating and local restaurants brilliant Rooms are various sizes with some having couches. Just ask for the room types available for your visit . Room house keeping was top notch . Looking forward returning in 2 weeks with fellow staff .

Really good pricing and service. Only complaint was a lift breakdown that resulted in having to walk up 15 flights of stairs, but I needed the exercise and it certainly wasn't their fault. These things happen. Nice and central, most things were a 10 minute walk away.

Many positives; location in centre of town; nearby to cable car linking to botanic gardens and Zoolandia; excellent breakfast. Access tricky, taxi didn't know location, so we were dropped at the bottom of steep stairs with all of our luggage!

I'm pleased to say there have been improvements since my last review of this hotel especially the service from staff. Staff are friendly and attentive. We were pleasantly surprised at the amenities. Location is convenient as it's easy access to Lambton Quay. Generally the hotel is overpriced for what is on offer.

Central to the city sitting nicely between the golden shopping mile and a 10 min walk to night life (Courtney place). In the CBD centre close to everything. Staff are friendly and inviting. Rooms clean. If you don't have a car this is perfect for getting to most attractions and bus/train services.

Enjoyed our stay in Wellington, great position, easy walking distance to everything. Clean and comfortable room. We had a small problem with drainage in sink, MATHY, the handyman, very pleasant, helpful and skilful, fixed problem no worries

Stayed here for 4 nights & the whole experience was amazing. Clean rooms, has reasonable cook ware, clean bathrooms and everyone we encountered were very friendly. We were fortunate enough to be placed on level 22 and our view of Wellington city was phenomenal! Easy access to Lambton Quay via Plimmer Steps and attractions such as Te Papa, the waterfront & Cable Car were all within walking distance. Thank you Travelodge for your hospitality, we'll definitely be returning soon.

This is a well located hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. However, I don't recommend you come here in the summer months as the rooms are NOT air-conditioned. We were here in January and, despite leaving the window open, our room was always uncomfortably warm and a bit stuffy.

The rooms are small compared to the picture. The rooms don't smell that great and the beds are uncomfortable. On the up side, the shower is relaxing and the workers are nice.

Not sure why it always takes so long to check in here?! Rooms good. Very high up on the upper floors - views not for the faint-hearted! Good room service provision. Excellent location in the middle of Lambton Quay, Willis St and not far from Cuba Mall.

Room where we stayed is good for couples onlynot comfortable for. All standard amenities and friendly helpful staff. Very affordable good accom for a couple of nights. The location of the hotel is excellent. A young trainee on reception was very pleasant and helped us with directions bus routes etc.

Comfortable accommodation with good access to downtown. There is wired ethernet in the room and was very fast. There is a grocery store just a few minutes away for snacks and cheap food. It got a bit chilly at night and I didn't figure out if there was heating available.

If you need good internet, think twice. Very slow wifi. Only two devices permitted (did I tell you it was slow?). Not sure about ethernet as I didn't have a cable. Clean (very small) motel style room (fridge/microwave/kettle), helpful staff, good central location. No Sky tv. Basically freeview with 2 sky sports, but no choice.

We found it easier to walk into town down the Boulcott Road hill from the lobby/carpark into town but it depends where you are going. On check-in we were offered the upgrade to a harbour view room on level 21 for an extra $20/night. You can't swing a cat in the bathroom but it is clean.

This hotel is located in the centre of Wellington. The service bus from the airport conveniently stops nearby. The rooms are well equipped with fridge, microwave and kettle together with plates, bowled and utensils. The staff were helpful and the Wi-Fi worked well.

As per a previous review, the hotel can be a little tricky to find as it is tucked away. You couldn't open the door to the room whilst the bathroom door was open. We didn't bring a laptop or pad, but luckily for us, there is are several internet video gaming businesses within walking distance for document creation and printing.

Terrific location, close to everything and easy walking. Lovely rooms and beds, cleaning a bit slack as didn't get done till 4.30ish in the afternoon by which time we were back from our days out, so had to wait till it was finished.

The location is key. Situated in the heart of Wellington, surrounded with tons of shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, and supermarket. Everywhere is within walking distance. The checkin is quick. In-room amenities are ready to use. The heater works well. Wi-fi Internet is free and unlimited. The view from the room is stunning. Walk only a couple of minutes to the nearest Starbucks.

Very clean and tidy room. Location was good for the price, but I got a little lost trying to catch an Uber there. Front desk team were very funny & made a good recommendation for a ramen place to visit.

Great place for a City Centre stay. Very central and within easy walking distance of the main shopping areas.

Our room was booked by the i-Site centre for us because it was downtown for us to walk around and close to the ferry. Matching the colours of artwork to the walls is not always a winning idea and unfortunately in this instance it has made the hotel seem dowdy. Unlikely to return.

Was only here one night so didn't get to use many of the facilities. My king room on level 16 was peaceful, quiet and clean. Staff were very friendly :)

Very please with the customer service of the young man Shobhit at the front desk, very well spoken and very accommodating to us but also appeared to be with other guests. Room was also nice. Thank you!

My 2nd time im staying there and it is awesome. I really love the travelodge. Rooms are spotless and the freshness and smell you get when you enter the room for the 1st time after you checked in; is so pleasant.

This was my second time saying at this lovely hotel, staff are always super friendly, great location so many shops and activities within walking distance - will be back again

Rooms were clean and modern, food in the restaurant was very tasty. The taxi only cost $34 from the airport. Would stay there again no problems.

Our recent stay at the Travelodge was mixed. Room service was good, presentation of the breakfast could be better but the outstanding feature of our stay was the help and determination of Moana at reception to find us the only available motel room in Wellington because of the closure of Wellington airport so thanks once again Moana for all you help we really appreciated it.

This is a very conveniently located no frills hotel in the city. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the service at the front desk was friendly and welcoming despite being 1am when I checked in.

I give it 4 stars because we had twin beds and had trouble with thw tv remote. All was clean and neat. Close to waterfront and easy walking around.

Central city location just behind Lambton Quay up Plimmers Steps. As we had booked our room through a website that was promoting a very special deal that was presumably generated by the ongoing renovations we had received a very good price. I had to have the windows open and of course it was noisey.

Nice and clean with all of the basics. Great central location. The only problem was the card access only elevator, I spent a good 10 minutes swiping the card trying to get the elevator to work !!

Room was pretty standard, nothing to complain about. Beds weren't the comfiest and the pillows weren't either, but pretty normal hotel experience overall.

Passable. Elevators sucked ... And it's a bit of a hike to get to if your walking around town - but beds were comfortable and shower worked so you take he good with the bad.

Room was nice, parking is expensive addition and the free wifi doesn't work at all, have to pay quite a bit more for wifi that works... if it weren't for these unexpected add ons it would be a nice place.

The hotel was conveniently located. The service was good and the staff friendly. The only complaint is that as it was such a hot day yet the hotel failed to provide fans! The staff were apologetic though!

Very close to everything in town. Parking is close but expensive. Rooms are clean. It was noisy due to roadworks happening outside... I could still hear everything even being on the top floor

Room had relatively nice view, no kitchen sink though which would have made activities like filling kettle and water bottles a lot easier.

Travelodge wellington really went out of the way to make when we arrived that it was a warm and personal welcome. They got some cake, fruit and wrote a personal note for a special person for when we arrived
