Stayed just for a night in the riverqueen suite, for the money I paid I thought it was beautiful and quality accommodation, the whole motel is lovely, esp in spring/summer. Pool was lovely and clean, location is just far enough from town for it to be quiet but still close enough to be able to drive to the main st of town in 5 min or less. Bed was very comfortable and whole room was clean. Building is old and in some ways is showing its age, some ppl may mind, others may not. Personally it didn't bother me, I managed a backpackers in a 100+ year old building and so found the whole sensory experience of my room and the old building it was in quite charming. Private parking was good but there wasn't quite room for every guests car in the upstairs car park, however the bottom car park had plenty of room. Staff were lovely and friendly and easy going, and memorable in a good way. I would, and will, stay here on my next trip to whanganui, absolutely.

We have been staying at Anndion Lodge on weekends for the last 4-5 months, whilst renovating our rental property. We have stayed in various units, rooms and family apartments. I don't know how anyone can rate this lodge under a 4 or 5! Such a beautiful place to stay! Our room exceeded expectations & the staff & host of the lodge are so gracious. Cathy and Gary were extremely helpful in organizing accommodation for the guests coming for a wedding. Although this had to be canceled because of Omicron outbreak they were very understanding and sympathetic.

What a lovely place to stay. Something I could tell straight away is that there is a lot of pride and care taken into all aspects. Clean, great location, lovely people and would 100% stay again!

Very impressed with the amenities. Very cozy, the lodge itself has no staff, all staff are in the adjacent building. Rooms that were able to be viewed (checked out guests had left their doors wide open) we're practically identical in size, small but completely adequate. Gorgeous outside sitting area with lovely plantings of palms etc BBQ and spa area. My one negative was the very old mattress on the double bed, should have been thrown out years ago.

The facilities here are great, with a communal lounge/kitchen area including a pool table. There's also an outdoor spa pool which can be booked til 9pm. Our room had everything we needed - a comfortable bed, TV, fridge, tea&coffee making; and, the private full bathroom with shower, toilet, vanity and bath was great. Unfortunately; the guest in the room next to ours snored loud enough to wake the dead; and, unfortunately, his bed was up against the same wall ours was - hence, we got little sleep.

Described by Cathy who checked us in, as 'think of it like a home' so think cosy, carpeted, comfy. Reception is not obvious so follow the signs, it's the stand alone building to the left. No maps needed for this place as mentioned as it's separate rooms contained within, and then use of modern common areas. Wood burner in the lounge.Inexpensive

The owners were lovely and welcoming and even let me keep my car their for abit after checkout. Unfortunately the room wasn't as quite as comfortable as expected. The hallway lighting shines through the door framing directly in view while trying to sleep. And was disappointed that the TV only had limited channels. Fountain View suite

Function room is amazing. This was set well and maximised the space so we could use it the way we wanted. The outdoor area is devine with well placed tables and chairs. Would also be great to be here in the evening. Area is enclosed and private. The owners were so easy to communicate with and met and exceeded all of our expectations.The onsite service was also friendly and overall excellent. Nothing was a problem, even when I made changes. The meal we had was delicious. We had given the chef a budget and they stayed within this and provided a delicious selection of kai for us. Will definately use for any further functions and/or if we need somewhere to stay.

Very friendly and chatty staff, rooms are set up beautifully and you're not too far a drive from the city centre. Priced well for the great location and service provided. Only downfall is the parking spaces are not allocated to each room, very much first in first served especially if most rooms are booked. Would definitely stay again though!

Stayed in the lodge for one night with my bike on a stormy night. Staff go above and beyond here to make you feel welcome and looked after! The spa pool was perfect, had it to myself in the rain! Cannot fault this place.

Friendly place. Modern and clean. Very handy to town. Directly across from the river. Lovely pool and spa pool. Plus a pool table! Room options from backpacker small double rooms with shared kitchen to self contained motel room.

Warm welcome on arrival. Riverview room with ensure was lovely. Nicely decorated. Bed comfortable. Bathroom modern. The rest of motel is a mix of accommodation. Something for everyone. Large shared kitchen, dining & lounge area available for all to use. Pool, spa, sauna & BBQ area. Restaurant onsite too. Good location for riverside walks.
