L. M.Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Bunk cabins served our purpose. All facilities were spotlessly clean and cleaned several times a day. Numerous activities for kids. We were travelling with 7 kids under 7 and struggled to get them to bed before 10. A must visit holiday park.

J. V. d. W.Love this resort it is quite and lots for children to do. Such a lovely place to relax and spend time with family. They were very accommodating when I booked. Pool is heated. 2nd time here and will be coming back. Might make it a yearly break away with the children.

Holiday Park was located in a quite area near the Whanganui River. I wished we stayed for longer, but will be back.

It was comfortable for the three of us, good beds, good water flow in the shower and all the appliances were modern and worked well. The unit was warm. In June. Pressing the start button on the microwave puts the child lock on, do the same with the stop button to unlock it.
The sofa was nice and long but too low and soft for those with crook hips or knees.
The pool looked good and the camp kitchen was roomy and clean.
Some decking needs repainting and the old yellow glass replacing to modernize the look

P. T.I stayed in the wheelchair accessible accommodation. There was plenty of room for me to get around. The toilet and bathroom where spacious, which was great. There was a bottle of milk in the fridge when I arrived. Nice touch! 🙂 When I went to the office to hand the key in as I was leaving, the staff came and got it so I didn't have to get my wheelchair out. Super friendly and helpful staff. A great place to stay. Will definitely be going back.

A. L.I stayed here one night this Sunday, the hotel is excellent in every aspect. The owner is really nice. The park is all covered with well mowed lown, with a tranquil broad river flowing by. Apple three, colourful birds, fat fed sheep can also be seen in certain area in the park. The well cared detail can be felt everywhere. I highly recommend this hotel if you go to Whanganui.
W. S.Great facilities and very well maintained. Ideally located on the river and away from much of civilisation but only a ten minute drive to your choice of supermarkets and bakeries. First and only hot chip vending machine I've ever seen and they were good too! The bird aviary was a nice surprise too.
The road on the other side of the river was a bit loud and it's a bit pricey(not bad value though.) We'll be back for sure.
Nothing to do with the campground but Whanganui has a lot of dog ban areas so just be aware if you're travel with Fido.
P.Stayed here a month ago. What an incredible Top10 Holiday Park. Best one I have been to yet. Facilities were amazing, clean & tidy, awesome pool, grounds, games room, ride on karts & more.
Staff were incredible, highlighting good places to visit, eat etc. They even bought direct to Site a courier package I was waiting for. Incredible service. I will be back for sure.

We stayed two nights in August at a powered site and were very happy. All facilities were clean, wifi worked well and the team were friendly + helpful. Showers and 500mb of internet pp/per day are included, wash and dryer are $4 each. FYI it is a bit away from Whanganui city center and there are no cafes or stores in walking distance.

Beautiful shower and bathroom, and comfortable beds. We absolutely loved the pool and the go carts, these were the highlights of our trip! An overall fun and relaxing weekend.

Plenty of things to do and see in the City and surrounds. River boat cruise and the walk around Virgina Lake a highlight. Even found a glass blowing factory with inviting public viewing, plus a commentry by a friendly expert, all for free.

The pool sadly was to hot and would have been great if it was alot colder in these very hot temperatures during our 28+ temperatures in wanganui. Please do do something about that. I'll b back everytime guaranteed.. maybe cold during n warm at nite..also I was not happy happy about the abuse from a older couple next door. But loved the kids around and people's kindness and genuine joy love and affection. The staff were outstanding and an I give them a 10++++++ love louise

P. D.Expensive but the best Top10 in NZ. We finally spend 2 nights in this Holiday Park because it was really confortable. Large tent site so even without separation between them, you have your privacy. Table near our tent site with roof and plug : excellent idea ! Bathroom and kitchen not really large but just enough for everybody, clean and modern. Large dining/living room with a lot of tables, chairs and plugs. Nice staff. No Free Unlimited Wifi.

H.The hosts/management is really great. We did not 7nderstand the map and accidently pitched our tent in tue wrong spot. They were accomodating towqrds us and the other guests. We go back to Whanganui Top 10 at leqst twice a yeqr. We love it. Not to mention the other TOP 10 resorts which are also GREAT. We love it. Its affordable and great value for money.

What I have to complain about is, the jumping pillow was free and the pool was asleep, but the little bikes cost , the kayaks cost the paintball cost everything cost why can't I just pay for a cabin or a spot for my tent and get every thing? after all I played to stay at the park not just the cabin

J. T.Awesome place, excellent people and a nice way to spend some time away. We (2 adults - 3 children) stayed in the 2 bedroom park motel for two nights in early Jan 2013. We are Holiday Park people and always look for the whole of family experience, so for us the pool and playground etc are important to us. Best view in the place? The cabins facing the river just awesome, if basic. I'd also recommend asking about a package that suited you, knowing what we do now we would have thought about a combination package of two kitchen cabins. There are generally 3-4 pictures each type of accommodation ... and no schematics, these would have been helpful in making our decision.
The common area is excellent with a great covered outside area to have dinner, only one BBQ in the immediate area though, great to meet people while you wait and watch the kids on the playground, tramps, biking/scootering around. The kitchen is large and they have an large lounge area. The pool as advertised is warm and the kids will love it, watch the last step down it's a doosey. The kids will love the bikes and good luck trying to get them to return them on time.
If you are going to check out the prices on line I'd advise completing the "update prices and availability" section of the "book now" webpage so don't get a surprise when you ask how much it's going to cost. Yes, It is a little more pricey than you might find elsewhere however given the whole package it's still a good deal. I would note that the tent sites were a lot bigger than I'd seen else where and being able to get a couple of tents in, car and have some left over was the norm.
As mentioned in some previous reviews it is a "short drive from the city centre", not important for us but if you want to go for a night out in the City consider saving some money for a taxi, walking will take a while. There is a 'shopping centre' a couple of kms towards the city with a Superette, Fish and Chip shop, Chemist to take care of those immediate requirements, some basics can be brought at the Office.
We did the 5km Kayaking experience while we were there and the kids had a blast, I would recommend it dependant on your budget. We also went on the Waimarie Steam Boat on the Saturday, the one hour cruise is cheaper and probably enough if you have young ones. A must is the Saturday Wanganui Markets which is by the Waimarie Pier lots of different things to see and buy. If your family have a hankering for Strawberries and you have time check out the Windermere Strawberry Farm (6kms west of Wanganui), there's nothing fresher than picking it yourself. If its hot try one of their ice creams you won't regret it. On your way back you might like to have a warm swim at Kai Iwi Beach (also known as Mowhanau), patrolled during summer and has areas for the very young. The best place we found for a picnic? Virginia Lake Reserve, you'll have to carry it in to get to the best places though but worth it. Take some bread for the birds that live around the lake edge.
I would seriously recommend becoming the Top 10 Holiday Park member with our discount on our accommodation and the Waimarie Steam Boat it paid for itself and then some and now we can get a 10% discount at any of their 52 other locations as well as discounts on other attractions (yep sorry sounds like a sell I know). You can become a member when you check in.
To be honest we only went towards Wanganui because we couldn't get into the Hawkes Bay in our time frame, our good fortune. While it sounds like we did a lot in two days I get the feeling only scratched the surface, I didn't even take my fishing rods! Thanks Andre and Martie - just awesome, before we'd even left the kids were asking when we were coming back, see you soon :-)

A. K.Basic cabin for two is 69$. Cabin with mini-kitchen is 79$, cabin with toilet is 120$. This is expensive comparing to other holiday Parks (including top10). The basic cabin has a table and two chairs. No overbed light. The showers are large and clean. The kitchen was very dirty in the morning. The location is far from town center - you must take a car to the pub :-)

Large dining room, real stoves in the kitchen, even a product to clean the toilet seat in each toilet. I will definately came back in this campsite. I didn't put five stars 'cause of the wifi wich is not free.

K. D.I stayed here with my dog and 2 kids and loved every bit of it. I arrived quite flustered and short and staff were still amazing . I went back the following morning and apologized. They were so understanding. This is the best top 10 I've been to so far. I go every 2 months with my children and this one is their favorite to. Game room is packed out. Heated pool is amazing ! Toilets and kitchen were amazing . They allowed me to leave an hour later to let my tent dry .Toilets were close to everything. Already planning to come back .this was the highlight of our 2021-2022 summer
