l.An excellent, family friendly holiday park. The grounds and facilities are very clean and tidy. The current manager does a really good job. He makes sure this is a safe, friendly, and clean place. You will often see him out and about in the park making sure everyone and everything is as expected. The only thing I would like to see changed in the future would be a hot water boiler on the wall in the kitchen instead of using jugs.
J.Probably one of the cleanest communal toilet/shower area I've seen (out of the 10 campgrounds I've been to) in North Island.
Kitchen facilities are good (baking trays, pots and pans available).
Nice and friendly receptionist/host.
Only negative (through no fault of the campground) is some of the noisy boy racers at night around the area.
Less than 5 min walk to the beach, would happily stay here again.
M.My girlfriend & I were fortunate to book Driftwood Cottage for 4 nights. We are Wellingtonians. This is our first time at this Holiday Park. It is a great Holiday Park, for campers (who want to pitch their tents), and for those who are not into pitching tents (like me, my girlfriend likes camping and pitching tent), there are cabins to choose from, depending on the group size. The communal facilities are close and handy, to our cabin, and they are clean & tidy. Our cabin has the very basic kitchenette, which is great, as it meant we did not have to use the communal kitchen facility. I had the opportunity to chat to the camp manager Phil - thank you Phil, keeping the place safe. I would definitely recommend this Holiday Park. Definitely a thumbs up for this Holiday Park. And it is about 5 minutes walk to the beach, glistening black sand.
c.easy short walk to beach, lovely convenient store, and cafe/restaurant across the street. clean camp and quiet neighbourhood. stayed here for one night on a road trip, friendly staff gave us a wonderful place. we did not use the pool, due to a windy cold evening, but looked great.
R.Great little camp ground, close to the beach (which is also a great spot for watching the sunset). Our cabin had all we needed when combined with the good kitchen facilities.
Quite far from Whanganui town centre which didn’t bother us.
Toilets were clean, showers were not push button but depending on which one you chose the spray wasn’t always the best, normal for camping though.
I would come back if I was staying in Whanganui again.
E.Excellent park and spotless facilities c/o Phil who knows his stuff. We enjoyed our stay at the park and Wanganui in general, but out of all the camping grounds we've visited, Seaside Holiday Park is by far the best managed and kept.
Will be sad to see some of the proposed changes and possible sale go through. Highly recommended.

l.Great facilities, free hot/cold showers, clean toilets and kitchen. Swimming pool well maintained. Easy access to dump station for motorhomes.
The Citadel is an excellent cafe adjacent to campground. Take away and dine-in.
J.We stayed here for one night and really enjoyed it. We could park right next to our tent, the amenities are well looked after and they even have a BBQ and Pool area. Highly recommend staying here when you're in Whanganui!

M.Awesome spot next to the beach. The price is fair if you want to make use of the pool. The dacilities were also immaculate and you could see the team take great pride in having a tidy campground!
w.Enjoyed our 2 nights stay a few days ago. Starting with a very pleasant & helpful receptionist on our arrival. The facilities were extremely clean, the communal kitchen/lounge reasonably stocked with any cooking & dining requirements, which we made use of, & the bbq. Appreciated not having to cook in our van for a change. Enjoyed being able to have a free shower which doesn’t seem to be common in parks lately. Loved our time in Whanganui & our next visit, we will be returning to stay here

j.I cannot thank and appreciate the hospitality and service we received from the wonderful staff. I had a big 60th and booked every available unit. Nothing was a hassle for them. Cannot recommend them enough. Simply excellent.

L.We arrived after a long drive from Auckland, the lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly. The facilities were great and it was a quiet area. It was homely and peaceful. There was a fire pit going at night to keep warm. Me and my boyfriend would definitely go back!

S.We have chosen to stay here twice in the last two months, while in Whanganui for sport, and have stayed in two different family cabin/units now. Both were absolutely perfect! Excellent heating, very comfy beds and bedding, and spotlessly clean. The location is beautiful, with the beach just behind - it is quiet and there is a gorgeous cafe across the road. We haven’t stayed here in summer yet, but we sure will! The hosts are accommodating, ‘above and beyond’ helpful 24/7, very friendly and the prices are affordable. We definitely recommend! Love this place 🙌

Short 5 minute walk to beach, great Fish & Chips across the road. Well worth a stay and not expensive.

A.Really nice self contained cabin. Had a microwave, kettle, toaster, TV and a sink. Any cooking could be done in the camp kitchen or BBQ area. Also shower and toilet. Bed was comfortable too. Good price as well. Better than some motels. Great camp ground, with a swimming pool. Very close to the beach, play ground, shop and cafe.
I.Great place with helpful friendly people. Loved the saltwater pool and the cafe across the road. Cool park for the kids across the other road with a skate bowl and beach out the front. Good access to all the local attractions. Will definitely visit again if in the area.
S.Stayed here for a 60th birthday. Had a 3 bedroom unit and was clean, tidy and very warm. Sanskai who was filling in at the office was amazing and very accommodating to the large group of us who had 3-4 units booked. When I come back to wanganui I will definitely stay here. 😃😃 Cheers from picton 😃

We travelled with small children and the hosts were more then helpful with providing activities and ideas to do with them around the area. If we didn't have a timeframe for our holiday we would of stayed here for allot longer.

Locals told me the tte camp has gone through massive upgrading. Congratulations to the owners, you have done a great job.

T.For large young families this place is for you.
We had a cabin with 2 sets of bunks and double bed and it was perfect for 2 adults and 3 boys under 6. Room was warm and cosy. And the showers & toilets were less then a 20 second walk. (With the new reno of the ablutions block, it was a nice little retreat for mum to have a quiet shower away from it all in the evening too.
The pool is lovely and nice and visible while the parents can have a quiet drink in the covered dining space (cute little outdoor fireplace for the winter too)
And if the kids need a good run about, the Castelcliff playground is just across the back fence, plenty of space for older and younger kids to play including a flying fox and skatepark, and of course the beach is just over the rise from there as well.
And if you don't feel like cooking in the shared kitchen they have, there is a cute little fish and chip shop, a dairy and a coffe shop just across the intersection.
Can't wait to stay again.
J.Location location, great park and beach behind the park. Coffee shop and corner store at the front. Really friendly staff, they couldn't have been more helpful. Cabins have been refurb'ed and are super comfortable. Will stay again :)

V.11 of us with 2 large tents and 1 small stayed 4 days over new years. We all loved it and are talking about coming again at the end of the year for longer. Trying to keep the kids out of the pool was very hard. Everyone were very friendly. Everything was very clean. If you saw eg toilet paper had run out they would remedy it straight away. We would highly recommend this camping ground to everyone. Well done
D.Have stayed last few years around xmas/new year. Love the place, so close to the beach, park Cafe. The kids love the swimming pool and has been a great environment for kids, they always have a ball. This year I didn't stay due to work but visited for the day and was amazed at the improvements the owners have made. Will be back again for sure

However, Cabin room was a bit small - not much space to put our bags etc. No spoons, or cutlery in the kitchen. Very disappointing!
WiFi would not connect and very poor connection. Unable to use it. Also price certainly didn’t reflect the accommodation.
J.The place itself is good. Friendly workers, well maintained property. The bathrooms were clean, the sites flat, and the kitchen/pool/lounge area were well kept. There is a beautiful beach walking distance, definitely making this place worth the visit.
The downside was location. The area gave us the creeps, especially with the "F#&K COPS" graffiti across the street. You hear cars passing all night as well.

R.Very nice and polite welcoming of that family owned camping spot. Super clean kitchen and restrooms as also all other facilities like the shower room! We would totally recommend that spot (: only the beach next to the site is at the beginning full of wood and branches. If you pass that one you have access to the beautiful beach afterwards!

O.Love this spot. Had a bigger cabin this time and it was nice. Obviously a camp ground cabin, but thats what we love.Camp kitchen and bathroom blocks were clean. We enjoyed the camp spa. New owners were really helpful and nice. The citadel cafe opposite was really good too as we werent cooking and were on a short weekend break. Well worth a coffee or meal. Its worth a trip to the river mouth. Good surfing spot. Kids play ground is super cool too. Castle cliff is a revamped community than went backwards once the wharf closed but is bouncing back and has a real charm. A short drive to the city. Very cool for the kiwiana camp buzz.

Just a walk to a great local beach.
Park is really clean as are the bathrooms and kitchen , you need all your own stuff but the BBQ is well set out and easy to use.

V.One nights stay in a standard cabin with kitchenette, had everything I needed, comfortable, very tiny but I only needed it to sleep in and have brekky! Communal toilets and showers were very clean. I had an awesome nights sleep and would happily return again. Good value for money! :)

J.Castlecliffs is having a rejuvenation and staying in the cabins is a throw back to the 1950s seaside holiday era. Fabulous site with a massive playground for kids across the road and easy walk to the rugged west surf coast beach. Would return to stay.

A.Exceptionally friendly and welcoming host! Would definitely recommend this place to others. Great location near the beach and walking facilities for our boys.

Unfortunately, the place Wanganui is not so exciting in itself, as a stopover in the direction of Wellington but okay.

Der Campingplatz ist völlig in Ordnung, Küche und Sanitäranlagen sind nicht mehr die neuesten, aber dafür sauber. Die Plätze selbst sind flach und teilweise hat man Bäume oder Hecken für etwas Schatten. Leider ist der Ort Wanganui an sich nicht so spannend, als Zwischenstopp in Richtung Wellington aber in Ordnung.
