Awesome wee place. The owner Robbie is a great guy! Stayed up late to accommodate my husband whose vehicle broke down! Nice and clean. Thanks Robbie we appreciate you! X

A nice, lovely motel that with good space and utilities. Beds were nice. Fan and heater also provided for different temps. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. Overall a nice stay.

Very noisy traffic, doors have gaps and no bathroom towel holders at all, none, not even at back of the door. Kitchen was not too clean either. Fridge, freezer box so frozen up I couldn't put much in to it. Rob, helpful, but, bottom line it's a motel not a hotel, maybe a 3 star with a huge push, more a 2.5 star.

Amazing value for money. Clean & big. Could fit a family of 5 in the room we stayed in & we learnt that it is pet friendly something to keep in mind. Lots of shampoo & conditioner and tea, hotchocolate & milk. Will definitely stay again.

We had a room on the top floor. The beds and linen were clean and pretty comfortable. It was very hot and humid and the fan they gave us was weaker than using a newspaper. And there was a big cockroach on the shower curtain which ended my shower pretty abruptly.

Friendly host/owners. Make one feel super welcome. The room was nice, for the good price. Bed firm and comfy, lovely kitchen. Fridge set a little too low, so things were a bit frosty. Lol. But nothing that can't be changed. Looooooved the shower... Great pressure. Little dairy just a cross from motel, so convenient if you need something. Thanks for a good stay.

Friendly gent on reception. Tidy complex. Fabulous shower; great water pressure with instant hot water. Spacious rooms. Stove and microwave a little rusty but functional. Strands of long black hair on bed linen. Stains on quilt. Quiet neighbourhood. We got a peaceful sleep.

This motel is very clean and central. The proprietor is extremely obliging and pleasant. I took a star off for the hard bed and very small yet adequate bathroom. For a self catering holiday the room is well equipped. I would use this motel again.

We really appreciated the location, the room was cleaned every day with new towels, and it became our little haven. Able to cook breakfast, have a nice hot shower, and a good sleep. Good price point.

Well situated units refurbished to a modern standard. All necessities were present, good shower. Nice to have a good tv with plenty of channels. Stains on the double bed duvet wasn’t a great look, it should have been an easy and cheap fix. |Being upstairs was a bit of a pain with two new hips and a crook back.

Good value motel. We found a babies nappy under the bed that must have been there for 3-4 months which tells you the cleaning isn't that thorough, and I thought the mattresses left something to be desired as far as comfort goes, but the manager was quite nice and everything else was ok.

So thankful there was a last minute booking space for us !When searching on google we were a bit weary about the rating but we were blown away. Communication was amazing through out our stay and very helpful ,the room was lovely clean,warm and well equipped.We checked in late and even manage to get a quick relaxing spa in .Would definitely recommend 😊

Spa was filthy, staff blamed guests, I blame them, bedding had stains, shower soap was empty, owners dog was very annoying. I wont be going back ever. For approximately $100 per night it was reasonable if u prefer sub standard motel staying

Excellent motel. The floors were exceptionally clean and kitchen large. Very good value for money at $120 per night for 2 people. Unfortunately it is situated right next to the train lines and main road. Also have a spa and sky tv.

Highly recommend this Motel, although we only stayed one night in 2 rooms we were greeted by the Manager Robbie with a huge smile and great service. The rooms were very clean and we left them how we found them. Thank you Burgundy Rose Motel.

Motels have become pretty expensive, but $120 is still quite a bit of money. The motel seems to run its own Covid-19 health policy, as at sign-in it asks if you have cared for someone with Covid-19 in the last 14 days, and then you're not welcome. Perhaps let the Ministry of Health run our policy? The room is plain, but clean. The walls covered with signs you are not allowed to do, or should do. The mattress, the most important thing in a motel for sure is years past its use date, or some cheap knock-off of a spring mattress. As I had just come back from a tramping trip I was tempted to blow up my tramping mattress and put that on top. The only redeeming feature is the spa, why I gave it three stars in the end instead of two.

Burgundy Rose Motel, State Highway 1, Whangarei||We stayed two nights recently in this motel which is located on SH1 in Kensington, Whangarei. The motel is ideally situated for travel into the city centre or if you are travelling north, and even though it’s on SH1 we weren’t bothered by any road noise. Our unit was a studio unit, quite spacious with all amenities and very reasonably priced. I can recommend Burgundy Rose Motel if you are looking for overnight accommodation in Whangarei.||If you like my review, I hope you'll click the 'Helpful' button; those of us who write reviews love to get them and it motivates us to do more.

Very welcoming proprieter and having travelled 5 hours to reach destination, the arrival/check in process was much appreciated. The unit was clean and tidy but could do with a lick of paint. Very well priced.

This place was fantastic for myself my 4 and a half month old and fiancé great location and veery tidy. Great owners who were always very happy to see and help you. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again myself!

We called into the ISite on the way into Whangarei and they booked us into this motel. It was the right price, the room was spacious and had all the amenities that we required.|The room was clean, the bed reasonably comfortable and good strong shower.|It got a little noisy early in the morning with traffic but didn’t impact our sleep.|The owner was friendly and helpful.|Good budget motel and would stay here again
