M.I have never stayed in a Farmhouse before, so that was exciting. Surrounded by nature, no traffic, no people nearby, no city lights, just some birds and animals. It felt fresh.
I arrived in the afternoon, greeted by Sarah and their dog (Bella). She offered me three rooms one of them being a caravan. This being the last of my 14-day trip, I went for the caravan - which was clean and all set up perfectly ready to go. Peter joined us sometime later, along with the other guests, a couple, and their baby. I had a couple of beers, and we all had a good chat. I set up my stuff in the caravan, freshened up, and then Peter invited me to have dinner with them. It felt like a family dinner with everyone. We then followed it with a board game - which was fun and a brain challenger. Later when it was dark, Peter set up his telescope and showed some constellations, planets, and stars. Living in Auckland, I had forgotten about how you get to see Milkyway in this country if you step away from the city lights. It was refreshing. Had a great sleep. Woke up the next day, and Peter took us on a small hike up the Tokatoka hill. Followed by some breakfast, and sadly it was time to leave - but not before getting a chance to fire a shotgun.
It was a special experience. It felt like going home and visiting your parents.

Sarah and Peter go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and let you experience an incredible display of hospitality (and actually generosity). We enjoyed the invitation to “help” milking the cows which gave us an insight in farm life. Before continuing our journey Peter guided us up the Tokatoka hill with awesome 360 view across the country, sharing lots of interesting information on animal and plant life. Highly recommend everyone to arrange a stay! You will not regret it. All the best to Sarah and Peter (and their entire family)!
S.Our experience here can only be described as fantastic. Pete and Sara are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them.
From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. We had a lovely walk up Tokatoka with Pete, where he shared his knowledge of the local area and trees. Then in the morning it was down to the milking sheds to have a go at milking the herd and learning about the milk process.
Dinner and breakfast were nice and healthy with homemade salads and muesli.
Sara's passion for animals is evident and she enjoys bringing others on that journey.
Will definitely be back.

N.My boyfriend and I travelled through New Zealand for a month, and staying at Tokatoka views farmstay definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Sarah and Peter are extremely welcoming, warm, genuine and generous! It almost felt like we were staying with family! Was great to go to Tokatoka together, have a tour of the farm and look at the stars at night, and dinner and dessert was delicious!

I recommend all of you to experience this passionate family . As soon as you walk in the door, Peter and Sarah make you feel like you're family you've known for a long time, and language shouldn't be any barrier to their enthusiasm. Getting acquainted is more like a family chatting and sharing. They have been married for 40 years. Sarah really made me cry when she shared their marriage secrets with me. The feelings between foreigners are different from those of us Chinese. They are not so reserved and candid. They were humorous and hospitable, dinner was not included but Peter wanted to show off his cooking so much that dinner was free. Teach me the game of RUMMIKUB after dinner, and I won, they cheered for me and said like a child: This is impossible! Peter said that you looked tired. I was really moved. After driving for a day, my husband and I are used to sharing each other's burdens. We both know that each other is tired, but this is life, but when someone sees that you are tired and says When he came out, he seemed to be moved and aggrieved by others. But the two of them are really too energetic. When we arrived in the afternoon, Peter came to visit, and Sarah brought another group of people back to milk the cows, and then took us to horseback riding, feeding pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ducks, Play with lizards and more. Peter then drove us to the Toka-Toka, went to the summit with us and told us many interesting things about the flora and fauna.
Back on the farm I was even allowed to spontaneously ride a lap on Sarah's great horse.

Diese Unterkunft sollte man unbedingt buchen! Es war ein absolutes Highlight auf unserer gesamten Neuseeland-Reise!
Man merkt, dass die beiden es lieben, Reisenden einen Platz zum Schlafen anzubieten und die vielen verschiedenen Menschen kennenzulernen.
Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt, Sarah und Peter sind ganz warmherzige, tolle Gastgeber!
Man bekommt sogar einen Einblick in die Landwirtschaft, darf mit zum Kühe melken und dabei helfen, die Alpakas, Pferde, Gekkos und Co. zu füttern.
Peter hat uns dann noch zum Toka-Toka gefahren, ist mit uns auf den Gipfel gegangen und hat uns dabei viele interessante Dinge über die Pflanzen- und Tierwelt erzählt.
Zurück auf der Farm durfte ich sogar noch spontan eine Runde auf Sarahs tollem Pferd reiten.
Vielen, vielen Dank an Sarah und Peter für diesen einzigartigen Aufenthalt!
