R.Very clean and well maintained. Quite a walk from the budget cabins to the loo. Also no water in the budget cabins, but there is a tap nearby. Plenty of parking. Nice pool with seats and shade.
H.I highly recommend this holiday Park and I would like to acknowledge the manager who is heartspokenly a very welcoming hospitable gentleman who cares and respects all people.
The showers, cooking and kitchen facilities are well maintained......all staff a helpful and friendly........

K.Great place to stay! We ended up staying for a few weeks. Tidy, well appointed cabins. The grounds are kept beautifully for tents and campervans. The pool, spa, showering and bathroom facilities are kept lovely and clean. Has a nice large kitchen for cooking meals, and seating around the park for outside dining. Very friendly and approachable staff.
Z.The place is pretty dated but the amenities are good and it's clean. The lounge needs new furniture. Overall I would highly recommend it if you want cheap family accommodation. The pools great for the kids. Everyone was friendly and there were no problems while we were there apart from the spa pool being out of order and they had trouble getting it fixed over the Xmas period. The owner Martin is really on to it and takes very good care of the place.
T.It's a perfect place for backpackers or those who are looking for low-cost hostels around Whangarei. It is clean and comfortable. There is a mini pool as well. There is kitchen for anyone who wants to cook and also washing machine for those who wish to wash their clothes. Service is good too, staffs are friendly and helpful :)

L.Really nice and cheap place to stay. Rooms were very clean and tidy and were given heaters since it was winter. Facilities were great also with all the majors you needed and toilets clean. Showers were hot. Would have been great if the kitchenettes in the cabins had a sink but you got a microwave, toaster, jug and fridge. Would go back.

P.I recently stayed at the falls, haven't had such a relaxing holiday in 40 years, why didn't God or buddha or whoever make more Martin's, I suppose like all special and valuable collectables they only make one to a million. Oh yes the place was also spotless.
R.The host Martin is excellent and provided us with a superb level of knowledge and ideas for activities in the area. The site is a sort of hostel/campground which provides a comfortable feel. Pool is a bonus and very close distance to the falls. Definitely worth a stay
M.Martin is such a great host, we felt safe and had a great experience during our stay. We took advantage of been so close to whangarei fall's. Met the most amazing locals who shared stories with us of the area! We cooked on the bbq every night and enjoyed the peace & quiet. Very clean (toilets especially) well kept grounds!

T.Really nice. All the facilities in good shape, I really loved the small kitchen in every room. They have a common room with tv and PCs and the staff is really friendly and helpful. The Wi-Fi was kinda annoying, you had to go and get a new voucher every time and it would sometimes stop working. The surroundings are really nice, the waterfall is only three minutes away and if you want to do some hikes they will give you a map ans explain the main ones to you right when you check in! If you don't have a car it's a little effort to go grocery shopping though, because the countdown is about twenty minutes away. Other than that I've had a really good stay there!
F.Very clean and tidy. Martin was very helpful and friendly, showing us the attractions in Whangarei. Always efficient in everything, constantly on the go with maintaining the place. Highly recommended and everything was there for us to enjoy our stay. This was our last destination before heading home so thank you so much Martin for your awesome hospitality.

C.Greatly enjoyed my trip to Whangarei, everyone working there was quite friendly and encouraging in trying different places around the area. Clean facilities, and only a few minute walk from some stellar waterfalls.
Only complaint I may have is the WiFi is a bit of a pain as you have tickets you have to collect from the front desk that give you 600MB of internet at a time, which is a tad annoying.
Highly recommend to any travelers, solo or with friends :)
a.Planned to stay here for only 4 days be extended it to another 3 because we love it so much! It’s a great location specially if you want to be out of the busy town and it’s only a 5 minute walk to the falls! They provide all the kitchen essentials and we love the outdoor provided washroom and shower! It’s great how it has a pool and a hot tub as well! If I ever come back to New Zealand I will for sure stay here again! Thanks Whangarei Falls!
A.Awesome little place. Clean, tidy, friendly atmosphere. Loved the spa and pool. Owner was very friendly and helpful, also easy to approach and talk to. Would happily come back here again, it has almost a homely vibe 😁
T.I stayed in 10 bed dorm and it was actually 4+4+2 so more privacy than expected. Everything nice and clean. Fridge in the dorm came in handy. There's big grill outside and shared kitchen with plenty of space and all the stuff you might need. Definitely great value option compared to other places in Whangarei.

Close to busses and the beautiful Whangarei falls, and an easy drive to local food places.
Incredibly clean rooms and amenities, and wonderfully helpful staff/owner!
Shared room was warm and nicely laid out. Bed was comfortable. Over all it is simple but has everything you need and is kept so well!
Stayed three nights and have nothing to complain about! Absolutely loved it and am sure to recommend and rebook!

First of all, the staff is always very friendly and gives you many information about activities in the region.
I stayed in the 10 bed dorm, which is devided into smaller sections so it doesnt't feel or look like a dorm, but still offers a lot of space for everyone. Each bed has its own locker. Very well equiped kitchen and a grill outside.
Pool and hot tub accessable for everyone.
Close to many outside activities.
I would have liked to stay longer than two days.

Best is that whangarei falls are just 3 min walk away.
You have every option here from a room to an unpowered camp site and everything in between, especially good if you want so save some money.
The stuff is very friendly and gives you a bunch of tips and help what to do in the area, and it's a lot you can do here!
J.Had a friend stay recently who has a disability. The manager of the premises couldn't have been more helpful and really looked after her. She really appreciated his input. Would definitely recommend people stay here great customer service and a fantastic property.

The staff is really friendly and helps you making plans for the time of your stay and has great tips for where to go.
It is located right at the Whangarei Falls which makes it a great starting point for hikes towards the Falls and Mt Parihaka! It has a well equipped kitchen, a nice laundry room, a little Terrace for BBQ and a hot tub!!
Also: free WiFi and a nice library/TV Room!
R.Beautiful falls, just be careful with kids. There are very unprotected areas that might occur a fatal accident. Therefore, you have to keep them under supervision all the times to avoid any fatality.
M.Great place! The manager is very helpful and nice, the kitchen/bathroom/sleeping area are kept very clean and have a lot of personality. Only a 15 minute walk to the falls this is the spot to stay!
F.Bearing in mind that this is a camping ground and Hostel - excellent is the correct rating. The management and staff look after the place realy well and so it is a very well-organised, clean and tidy environment to stay in (I had a hostel dormitory bunk bed). Staff are very friendly and well-informed on local attractions and so can give solid advice on what to see and do. I stayed here at the start of my 5 week ANZ trip and got badly sunburned so the manager gave me a cap to protect my face/neck and scalp in the days ahead - very helpful for this guest
S.Well book in haste repent in leisure. I didn't check out the room facilities properly, to find out when I got there that no kettle, fridge, shower or toilet in my cabin. Had to use the outside blocks. But having said that my room was warm & the bed was comfortable, and there was a bunk above my double bed, that I didn't need, being a solo traveller. I was also just around the corner from Whangarei Falls which was lovely to visit.

Stayed here over Christmas 2017. Me, partner and son.
Martin and his team go all out to keep the place clean. Loads of accommodation options...cabins, camp pitches, backpackers and yha.
Communual well stocked kitchen, BBQ with outdoor covered eating area. Toilet's and showers clean. Theres also a pool and spa kept clean.
The staff give you a really good your when you check in plus info about the area. Martin really cares about his guests. His standards are high and he never stops working.
Downsides...more about living with other people rather than a reflection of the place...we had a few things go missing off the washing lines and the site was generally quite noisy until a at least 1030 at night.
Bottom line, would I recommend. Yes definitely.
k.Nice and quiet park for camping or to stay indoors as a backpacker.... the owner is friendly and very helpful. He saw us cooking in a large pot and offered his gas burner. The only suggestion is that he could build an extra toilet which might come in handy for busy periods. I would stay here again !!
S.Stayed here just over a night, staff is very friendly and the owner is really helpful! The dorm I stayed in was big and clean. They have their own spa and pool, which was really nice. It was very quiet when we we're there, and I have nothing bad to say about this place.
I.The receptionist is very helpful and friendly, got a lot of recommendations of interesting places nearby from him. We booked for a twin bed room but end-up we got a cabin with a queen bed and 2 bunk beds with inside room kitchen. Location is far from the city center but it is very close to the Whangarei Falls.
M.this hostel is perfect for anyone staying a weekend away in whangerei! The accommodations are so nice, there’s a pool and hot tub available to all guests. Definitely would recommend this to all friends and family in the whangerei area.
P.New Zealand at its most natural state. Spectacular sky full of stars, soundless, and near the falls. We stayed in a beautiful and well equipped cabin. Staff helpful and a place to park the car.

Non-electricity Tentsite for one person 22$, so not that cheap. But friendly owner, good eqipped kitchen, BBQ and there is even a pool! Whangarei Falls are only a few minutes away.
E.Service was great Simone needs a pay rise. Bathroom facilities are next to none for the amount of guests. Need more toilets and showers. Maori ladies were awesome to deal with.
P.Great quiet friendly spacious green location. The Bunk room cottages are very well appointed and with fresh air.

A.It all started with the friendly customer service on the phone. The lady on the phone showed genuine interest in my accomodation needs and found us a room for two. Highly recommend this cosie backpackers!

I.We stayed on one of Whangarei Falls Holiday Park camping spaces and were both very happy and felt welcome. Very nice helpful owners, also the Whangarei Falls are 2 mins walk from the backpackers and are simply breathtaking. Clean FREE facilities (unlike other surrounding backpackers) and nice pools; the only extra needed to pay for is the internet.
R.Lovely location up by the waterfall, its a bit of a treck into town but the track along the river is very nice and theres a bus that runs during the week too. Very clean and a nice pool and spa to relax in. Staff are very helpful and help organise activities :)

R.WiFi that works and free use of the hot tub. Not the cheapest but definitely more worth it than other ones we have paid for. Friendly staff who gave a great set of suggestions for activities.
M.A unique lodging experience. WFB has got spacious and cosy rooms with a small kitchenette, separate cabins for toilet, kitchenware, shower and laundry (the cost - $5 for washing and $7 for drying - encourages you to handwash and air the clothes outside - in consistency with the hostel's eco-friendly environment), as well as informative and helpful staff. Overall, Whangarei is a beautiful place with much to see and do. And WFB offers quality accommodation and rich advice for backpackers.

Direkt neben den whangarei falls gelegen und nicht weit vom Stadtzentrum. Die Duschen und Toilettenanlagen sind etwas abgenutzt und veraltet, tun aber ihren Zweck noch. Wenn man Fragen zur Region hat wird einem schnell weitergeholfen. Zimmer sind sehr basic und im Winter schlecht zu heizen. Im nach hinein hat sich herausgestellt, dass ich in den zwei Nächten dort Bettwanzen zugezogen habe....Sauberkeit scheint wohl doch ein größeres Problem zu sein....
