P.We arrived late, way after office closed (after hobbiton evening banquet) but owner was very gracious, even though it was very late at night. (Make sure if you are going to be late, let motel know). Owner went way out of her way to help us and make our stay comfortable.

C.The room and service absolutely can't be beat. Very quiet, clean, modern and comfortable. The owner is amazing. She took my sister and I all over, even out of her way. She also helped us with our Hobbiton reservations. Plus she helped us try to find a precious pair of earrings my sister lost. Such a caring and fun lady. I HIGHLY recommend the Tower Motel.
S.The room I booked comes with a king-sized bed and a queen-sized one, pretty suitable for couple with kid. Although some of the facilities, like toilet, seems a little bit of age, the room and restroom is quite clean for motels. The hostess is friendly and eager to introduce a little bit around Matamata. The location is about 3 minutes drive to town centre and 15 minutes drive to Hobbiton. The room rate is quite reasonable and I do believe it's really worth it. It's a great place to stay in Matamata if you have joined the Hobbiton evening banquet tour.
K.Although we were only here one night, this motel left us with happy memories of a pleasant stay. Our family of four were in a separate cottage with its own garage. Beds were comfy and the bathroom roomy. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to stop for a few minutes and chat. The grounds include a huge back garden which is a tranquil place. The motel is only a matter of minutes away from the town centre, but is distinctly rural in character. Highly recommended!

V.Great location for travelling around the area, with nice clean air conditioned rooms in a quiet area. The owners are nice people and very knowledgeable about local restaurants and sights. A very pleasant stay. I would definitely stay there again.
J.A very short drive to the centre of town, as well as some amazing tourist sights like the Firth Tower, Opal hot Springs, and Wairere Falls (which we hiked to the summit of and would highly recommend!!) this hotel is perfect!
The lady at reception was friendly and welcoming, our room was spacious and clean and came with a fully equipped kitchenette. The shower is nice, the beds comfortable and come with an electric blanket for warmth (which was heaven!). I'd highly recommend this little motel to anyone staying near Matamata, and it was the perfect end to a sightseeing day at the Hobbiton movie set.
N.What a local gem. The owner was so lovely, and upon realizing we were in town to visit Hobbiton she personally drove us into Matamata and arranged for the bus to take us to the tour. Clean rooms and very large! We could hear the birds chirping as we got ready for the evening. Would definitely stay here again!

N.We had a good stay at Tower Road Motel! The motel is a 3-minute drive to the downtown Matamata area where the restaurants/cafes/supermarket/stores are located. Also, this motel is in a quiet area off the highway and the surroundings look very green and relaxing. To me, this place met our expectations for our Matamata visit! Everything at this motel looks just like the photos advertised here! The room was very clean and also the bathroom. The host was very friendly and helpful! WiFi signal was decent. Highly recommend if you are coming to Matamata for the Hobbiton tour, thank you!

F.Me and my friend stayed here for three nights and we where surprised by the really good service of tower road motel.
If you are going to hobbiton and want to drink a beer or two this is the place to stay. Free transport to the I-site and the hobbiton staff will take you back to the motel.

T.(Translated) It was a location within 2 minutes by car from the center of Matamata, and the accommodation cost was reasonable. Also, the owner's woman was a nice person. Unlike large tourist areas, the surrounding area is quiet. However, it is convenient because there are fast food and restaurants in the center of the town. Here, as of January 2016, breakfast can be ordered by 19 o'clock the day before, with two types of extra charges. Wi-fi was usable for free. The room has several rooms with double bed and single bed, fridge and microwave. Parking lot was free, too.
