Reviews of Casa Del Gelato
V.First time coming here as I don’t usually go to ponsonby. The gelato was super nice and was surprisingly not too powerful when it came to the sweetness. The cups and cones are reasonably priced and the taste will explain itself~ I wouldn’t mind coming back to try the other varieties 😋
M.First time of many in the future. Cozy small ice cream shop, with a creative variety of flavors, from normal chocolate to feijoa one. Coffee and tea is also available. Open late and close late too. Only 3 tables inside, meaning that you get it and go out. Didn’t see a toilet inside.
M.Nice little Gelato shop. Seating available, didn't notice any restroom. Chose pistachio Gelato, not the best Gelato I've had, still good. They offer sample tasting before you buy 👍. Friendly service.
C.My nephew and I had the monstro shake. We had the Black Out and it was an amazing decadent chocolate treat. Pricy but worth the treat.
S.I always love coming here for the gelato and freakshakes, which always taste amazing. You may need to park a little bit of a distance away and walk as parking isn't exactly plentiful, but this isn't too much of a burden
F.Place does mainly ice cream and milkshakes. We went for milkshakes.they were OK. They only had 8 glasses for the bigger milkshakes so isn't really designed for bigger groups as we could only order 8. Outside of that th place was fairly nice inside and the milkshakes were nice

R.Great tasting ice cream and gelato. Good tasting waffle cones as well. Can be a bit of a wait at times. Prices are comparable to the big ice cream chains so not super cheap
G.Staff were polite and helpful. We set the tables together ourselves so that our group could sit together and the staff member didn't raise any issues.
The shakes themselves were well presented, but wasn't as thick as some other milkshakes I've had in Auckland.
Looks like the key selling point of this place is the presentation of the items, which is indeed creative and awe inducing.
C.Very good! Had the gelato shake and it was nice and chocolatey. I felt like the glass could have been chilled and it could have been served colder though, and the decor was very bland.
R.Nice flavours to choose from, tasting spoons - no problems, well presented ice cream with delicious toppings. Good sized servings. No complaints at all.
D.The gelatos tasted good. When one of the three we purchased came complete with a human hair (the server's hair was not covered), they gave us a refund plus a replacement.
M.Loved the unique flavours but the size of the ice-cream scoops left much to be desired for the very expensive price...

C.It's OK. The ice-cream is very nice, the staff are happy for you to try before you buy. Premises are clean but charmless.
L.Really quaint and rustic. Definitely worth a trip to take the kids out on a hot summer day or evening. It will make memories that will last a life time.
