Friendly service. Strawberry thick shake and passion fruit ice cream soda to start with. Sitting under shady courtyard was relaxing and peaceful. Had passionfuit 'peaks' ice creams on the way out..the best on a fine and sunny Hawkes Bay day.

Family favorite, a long tradition with over 30+ years. Nice changes to the rest area. Although, the price has increased with the changes. Service could be a little quicker 🤔 probably need to sort out a more efficient system as the line goes out onto the street during hot days in the Hawks Bay 😎

So creamy good that I didn't think to take a picture of the ice cream cone itself until after a few big licks. Lots of flavours, but interesting not like super crazy combinations of like cookies and brownies and things that'd overpower you like supermarket ice cream, but more subtle smoothness. Lots of room outside to lounge around and eat under the trees or roof, even if it's a bit nippy outside. Simply cannot beat the price either compared to anywhere.

Took my granddaughters recently and found street parking close by. Had imagined it would be more upmarket with parking on-site but it's quite tired looking. Trees outside gave good shade on a hot day though courtyard needed a tidy. Icecreams nice but certainly not as good as had heard they were, lemon sorbet lacked flavour. Wouldn't make a special trip there again but highly recommend Strawberry Patch icecreams!

A very pleasant space to spend Sunday morning. Cheerfully welcoming and enthusiastic staff added joy and sparkle to mine and my daughters morning. It was deserted when we arrived and very tranquil setting. Two fountains with lively goldfish. We sampled lemon sorbet and passionfruit icecream. Both delicious. Not too sickly sweet. Lemon just right balance between sour and palate cleansing. Passionfruit well blended tart with sweetness. Garden is gorgeously done, but customers can do a better job of picking up serviettes under foot. Bins were available and clearly signposted but I found 7 napkins around the place that were better suited to be in the rubbish. Coffee was 3/5, coconut milk slightly split. Kiddie cone was a bit over priced at $5, water was also $5. It would be a nice touch to have water and glasses available. The single cone was a decent size. But if you are going with a family group pay for. Best to save up for the experience 1-2 times a year;as you can easily spend over $50 here just for icecream.

I remember coming here as a child when we came to the Hawkes Bay on holiday. The icecream is still top quality. Service today, in spite of being very busy, was friendly and fast. The sundaes were great value... Highly recommended!! Just as fabulous as the olden daze... Thank you...

OMG! Despite their being a few people in front of us the lines moved really quickly. The staff were super friendly and we're happy for us to sample some of the flavors to help us with our choice. Ordered a two scoup sundae (cookies and cream, rum and raisin) and it was huge (should have had its own area code). They certainly didn't hold back on the serving size, or for the cream and nuts. It was amazing. Despite giving it a serious crack I couldn't finish it. We'll be back next time we're in town, though maybe we'll shared one next time :)

Very popular with friendly helpful staff. Eg. second scoop fell off as I was paying and they replaced it at no charge. Another scoop looked to be ready to fall off and they proactively gave a cup and spoon to place it in. Serving size is generous and large variety of flavours. This is so hard to say, as Rush Munro's is an institution. An iconic stop in Hastings. But... The icecreams are too big! I am probably going to get kicked out of Hawke's Bay saying this, but offering a smaller size would be awesome, as you can't try more than one flavour without going into a diabetic coma. They have amazing flavours, and banana icecream! The best! But please sort those sizes, as even with a single cone it's a precarious journey to enjoy your cone without constant fear it's going to fall off the waffle cone, or break the waffle cone. I have sat there with a handful of icecream after a catastrophic cone break. If you could have two flavours on a cone the size of a single scoop, that would be perfection.

There is a nice outdoor area and toilets which I have always found very clean. Maple walnut sundae every time. Rich and refreshing ice cream but may run out if it is a favored flavor. Visiting Hawks Bay area and stopped for a green tea ice cream waffle cone. They were out of the flavor but I had a back up flavor in mind (vanilla bean). I was very pleased with my choice. I will try to visit them earlier in the day to try their green tea ice cream. Excellent visit for a sweet tooth. Also they have added raspberry to their flavors. (it may only be seasonal) They also carry gluten free options.

Always amazing, beautiful creamy flavours. My personal favorite is Malted Milk in a Peak size (like a big triple scoop) - there's nothing else like it anywhere. Everyone should make it a must-do when in Hastings (or if visiting Napier make the effort to pop over)

The ice cream tastes very good, and it is one of the only ice creams available in New Zealand without a ton of strange (chemical) ingredients, but it is expensive. It is a nice location on a hot day, as you can sit around the fish pond and watch the fish swim around.

Outdoor seating had lots of shade with trees, a small pond, nice little corner with flowers etc. Its beautiful. Small tip though, the parking entrance near Rush Munro’s is also the exit, and fits only 1 car. When u go there during rush hour, it might be a bit difficult to get in an out. But otherwise, highly recommended!

We know we can get a freebie but the times we travel back from Australia, Turangi and Auckland to venture their every day we are back till we have to return to our homes for work etc, we would never hesitate to pay for the Rush Munroe....hate it when it's not open. Especially limited hours during winter.
