We purchased a new to us secondhand caravan at the start of 2019. We immediately looked for quotes to insure it. We found Star the most reasonable quote and the policy provisions and conditions suited our needs. We have since, unfortunately had to make a claim for a repair (too close an encounter with an oversize tractor on a narrow bridge). Making a claim is always a hassle but Star have a good online system resulting in the claim being accepted and the repairs made, by our nominated repairer, will no problems. We have been very satisfied.

I had a minor accident in my 2007 Mussel car, although Id been with my insurance company for over twenty years and never had an accident , they doubled my premiums. A friend recommended Star, I called them , advised them I had a recent accident in my car, that had been repaired, and they still insured my car for half the price of my previous insurer. Brilliant!!!

Had a mototorhome windscreen leak, was dealt with promptly by an assessor who listened to our concerns. It was agreed that we could get it repaired within 12 hours and we found a company that could repair and that we both mutually agreed upon. I was very impressed with the quick and timely response given lockdown levels and just before Christmas. Been with star insurance for four years now and I doubt we will leave to go to any one else. So easy to deal with for my bike. Very friendly and professional. Way better than the usual insurance companies in terms of value, ease of understanding whilst presenting a warm, and human, personality.

Star Insurance were the easiest and most pleasant insurance company I have ever dealt with. They settled the claim quickly and I intend to stay with them for good. Highly recommend them to all. 5 star rating from me.

Being in our late 50’s we have had a lot of experience with different insurance companies . We even moved to a broker for a while so we could talk to someone that cared about our needs and gave us a level of service. When Star Insurance started offering motorhome/caravan insurance they stood out from the rest. They offered competitive pricing, had a roadside assist at no additional cost, always had someone to personally take your call and placed real value on their customers . They put their best pricing upfront, and don’t reduce their premiums to met competitors rates. They now look after our motorhome and motorcycles and continue to make us feel very valued after all these years.

Highly recommend Star Insurance over any other vehicle insurance provider, competitive premiums are brilliant insurance cover. Best part about Star is, the annual renews of policies do not come with the shock of horrendous premium increases like other insurance providers. Great friend, fast service.

Efficient claim process and good communication. We chose the repairer for our windscreen replacement and it was done at our premises making it an easy process, even when the incorrect screen was initially supplied. Happy to recommend.

Star Insurance is always great to deal with. Changing bikes lately the process of updating my insurance was quick, easy and very professional.

When I had to claim for a windscreen replacement I was advised that if I went with a Jaguar dealer there would be no excess to pay like I would have done had I gone to Novus or Smith&Smith! A saving of $500. Now that is customer service at its best.

I am a new customer to Star Insurance and had an accident within 4 months. The service from all involved was top class from the initial complaint filed through to my Motor home being repaired. The follow up service has also been great.

Star insurance offers realistic policies for classic and collectable vehicles. If you opt for a restricted mileage policy the cost is considerably lower than opposition companies. Very easy to deal with.

In February 2020 I was visiting Takapuna in my Ford Transit camper van to attend a wedding. I arranged to stay at a motel the night before the wedding to use the more spacious facilities. It was hot, I was tired and it was early afternoon on a Friday in busy Takapuna. As I entered the motel I didn't notice the height restriction and managed to demolish the glass and timber portico at the entrance. Star Insurance were magnificent. My vehicle was hardly damaged and Star gave me some helpful advice about making everything safe for the journey home to North Canterbury. They were delightfully humorous about the whole episode lifting my spirits immensely. I warmly recommend them to any motor home user.

I needed to insure a limited edition car and was struggling to get the agreed value to want I paid for it with many other insurers. Star Insurance was able to quote me within half and hour of my online application being sent. And at HALF the price of their competitors. I called to clarify one of the details on my policy and the customer service was friendly and helpful. Judging by the other reviews this appears to be an absolute gem of an insurance company. Very highly recommended!

I have had to contact Star Insurance three times over the last three years and each time my issue has been sorted out quickly and in a very friendly manner.

Nobody wants to have to use their insurance, it usually means that something has gone wrong, but on two occasions we had to and Star were very easy and friendly to deal with.

The whole process was very efficiently handled. From the initial phone call right top the final pick up of the vehicle. Very good communication between me the repairer and Star.

Recently had a low speed crash due to pothole on railway crossing in the main street of Kawakawa. Damaged motorcycle and broke ankle. Claims helpdesk excellent , Towie arranged in seconds ( he was driving past .) Claim dealt with promptly, settlement done before I left hospital. Excellent A++.

Have recently changed to Star for Motorhome Insurance. Very professional, friendly and prompt service. Soon after had a major crack in our windscreen by a passing truck, the claim process was straight forward and Star's client service was excellent. Would highly recommend Star Insurance.

My windscreen was cracked by a large stone. My Camper Care policy was easy to understand - written in clear terms with full glass cover and no 'excess buy-out premium' involved. There was no paperwork required. I just took my vehicle to the repairer of my choice and he obtained the OK to proceed directly from Camper Care. He was amazed that he wasn't required to hold on forever on the phone for approval which he received within a few minutes.

We've only recently insured our campervan with Star, on the recommendation of our Broker. Only days after signing we had to make a claim. Embarrassing but no problem. The repairer dealt direct and all we had to do was deliver and pick up. Excellent service.

Star Insurance provides coverage for my classic cars, for use on the road and for the occasional track day / driver training day. The policy prices reflect my driving record, and vehicle usage. Star insurance also provides competitive insurance for my daily use vehicles. They are easy to deal with, answer the phone and are efficient. No phone cues.

Star Insurance has insured my 1959 Porsche 356A T2 Coupe that has recently undergone a 6 year bare-metal restoration. This car was a winner in the Teams Event at the Auckland Ellerslie Concours d'Elegance February 2021. Star helped determine the true market value of the car. The premium is very reasonable, good value, for ''peace of mind'. I'd recommend Star to any Classic car owner.

We had had an incident with our Roush Mustang whilst on a 3day Mustang Road Trip - it involved ane side of our exhaust system plus muffler being torn of. As the mufflers on this car are square and come out just in front of. the back wheels we had to have a new muffler made from scratch by an out of town supplier - then the exhaust system repaired and reassembled. The insurer was great - no issues at all. The broker was great and the repair was great. Could not have faulted any of them. Thank you Star.

I broke a front window in my caravan and had it replaced by a specialist glass company. On my way home the same replaced front glass window cracked. My second claim in 3 days was accepted without delay and fixed. Great service and understanding.

from the time I contacted Star Insurance for breakdown service and insurance, was surprised at the quote and much cheaper then the first company I contacted. The break down service was responsive and had me back up and running quite quickly. The operators were understanding of need and also receiving updates via email kept me up to date with my policy

I was recommended this insurance company by a friend. We have a campervan and were paying way too much for our insurance with another provider which did not cover for contents. Star insurance is great value and they include content cover. Perfect for us. The team responds quickly to email correspondence too. I would recommend.

Friendly and supportive, two claims this year! One for a window chip, all it took was a phone call and the repairer came to our home. Done and dusted! The second was when our step was ripped off when traveling through horrendous roadworks. From the first phone call, and then emails from the assessor we were supported and paid out no problem at all. For a $126 step to end up at $991 by the time it was installed could have had questions raised, however they understood how difficult it was for the repairer and payment was approved. Yes the premium feels like a lot when paying, but peace of mind knowing that we will be looked after when things go wrong on the road is a very good thing.

I have had my motorhome insured with Campercare Star Insurance for the last five years. I have had 1 very small claim and Star were very efficient, easy to deal with and settled matters very quickly. I have found them pleasant, helpful and very good to deal with.

Star Ins,they are human to talk to and dont ask a million questions over setting up an account. When we did have a claim caused by a third party the repair process was seamless and easy. I own a classic and need a company that wants to understand my requirements and not some unknown underwriters policy. Star has allowed me to insure my fd3-rx7 for the current Kiwi cost of replacement. I have classic car coverage and yet I have a normal policy like my daily drivers; windscreen protection/replacement and a reasonable co-payment if the unfortunate happens (I would cry tears of blood)..... Car insurance should not be difficult and should be an easy monthly bill and a voice at the other end of the phone if you need it........at Star I have found I get just that.

the insurance is value for your money and understands the use of the vehicle to keep premiums down as well as experienced driver/rider 4 stars only at the moment but would give 5 just do not know how a claim would go. the service is so far great and highly recommend as alternative to any other insurance

Here I am,with Star Insurance.First one i saw,excellent rate for the two bikes,quick,easy,dependable and honest(like one of my bikes). We were given two insurance companies to choose from by deluxe in Blenheim. We also went to our current insurer for a quote. They were not prepared to offer insurance because of the size of the vehicle so we contacted the two insurers on offer. Star offered a compeditive quote and the lady at Star was brilliant to deal with so we went with them. Absolutely easy to deal with and had a few laughs aswell.

I have been with Star for the last 4 years and had nothing but good experiences with them. After a small altercation with a branch just before going into level 4 last year that required professional repairs. both the claims staff and assessor were so helpful making everything go so smoothly despite the repairs being held up by the lockdown. We had a broken window in our imported caravan and once we had sourced a replacement Star stayed with us through the purchase, supply and fitting stages. It was our first claim in many years and Star really supported us through the drawn out process.

I was hunting for motorcycle insurance and contacted various providers. I felt that Star Insurance knew more about providing insurance for motorcyclists. I had a back and forth about my riding experience, riding courses I’d done and the details of how I park my bike. I’m very happy to say that it didn’t feel like my words were falling on deaf ears (like they were with the others). I definitely recommend them.

We had a problem with the camper that didn't quite fit in to any bracket of the insurance schedule. The representative of Star Insurance visited the garage to gauge the problem. We got part payment of the cost of repairs. We were delighted with the decision as we didn't think we would get anything. Very professional and prompt response to our questions. Very refreshing to get a positive response from an insurance company.

We recently had a accident in our caravan when we were out of Auckland. Our caravan was towed to a storage yard. We contacted the Star Insurance company and was given the phone number for the accessor for the Bay of Plenty area. He was excellent. Kept us informed the whole time with what they would do. It was decided that it was be on repair. Was towed to Auckland where we could remove all our personal stuff out. Received our agreed value within 2 weeks. Can’t ask for more.

I had a mishap with y twin axle caravan and Star Insurance were so good to deal with. I mentioned that my caravan was stored in Rolleston, Christchurch and that is when they mentioned "Hollands Collision Centre at Rolleston. Hollands was great to deal with. They had good access and a large compound in which to manoeuvre. Their completion work was excellent. Thankyou Star Insurance and Hollands Collision Centre.

I own a classic car, which I drive only occasionally. Other insurance companies looked at its age and demanded impossibly high premiums, for a car that is rarely on the road. Star insurance understand the situation with this type of car and they are the only ones that were able to state a very reasonable premium, with no ifs or buts. I highly recommend that you go to them first, rather than waste your time with the other companies that are not really interested in helping you.

Great Insurance company not a cookie cutter policy insurance company like most of the others. I could nominate the insured value of the vehicle also they have a good window cover which being a Model 3 owner is far superior than most.
