As soon as I started working with Sandy I knew she was someone I could trust completely. She understood exactly what would appeal to me and came up with a design for my new beach house that I absolutely love. Sandy has great attention to detail which ensures the look is consistent and everything works together. She goes the extra mile, even helping to unnpack and assemble furniture and choose and hang pieces of art to bring the whole look together. I have no hesitation in giving Sandy the highest recommendation.

We recently purchased an apartment in central Wellington that stood out from the crowd of many we had seen. It had "good bones" in that the layout was interesting and spacious and it had the potential to be made into something special. Sandy realised that potential. We live in a large house with wonderful views and a lot of sun, however, we lived in a house not a home. We thought we could try and make it a beautiful home, but we did not have a clue as to what we were doing, to the point that we seriously considered selling it. Then we were referred to Sandy. We looked at her work online and decided to contact her as this was the direction we wanted to go with in terms of design and style. From the initial consultation we felt very comfortable dealing with Sandy, whom we found to be very accommodating, professional and extremely talented. Over the last 12 months we have worked with Sandy to furnish and style our lounge and large open plan living areas. We would highly recommend Sandy as she was a pleasure to work with and has successfully fulfilled our vision of creating a sophisticated yet warm and inviting home, where we can make the most of each living space. Her choice of timeless furniture, fabrics and art, flow beautifully throughout the house and the shutters she suggested are perfect in so far as that one can regulate the heat coming into the house and they also look amazing! Sandy has helped turn our house into a stylish and inviting home. She is engaging and enthusiastic, an excellent communicator and very talented. As well as sourcing beautiful pieces for the house, she provided excellent advice on what to keep/recover, or "retire". She commissioned on our behalf, a bespoke piece of artwork, which pulled the entire living area together. We absolutely love what she has done and she did it all within budget. It is the first time we have worked with an Interior Designer and Sandy has made it an enjoyable experience. We highly recommend her.

Sandy from D for Design helped us refresh our living area with new curtains and furniture, including a bespoke built-in wall unit for books and storage. She also designed a beautiful wall cabinet for our kitchen. Sandy was extremely knowledgable and was able to work within our budget. She didn't pressure us to change everything at once and instead came up with fabrics that will allow us to do things, like change the carpet, in the future without having to change the curtains or furniture again. We have had a lot of positive comments from people who have seen the changes Sandy made, and it has really brightened and lightened up our living area. We're looking forward to working with Sandy again in the future.

We moved from an old villa into a much more modern house and found that a lot of our furniture and accessories didn’t suit the new home. As a couple, we also had quite different ideas about styles and colours. In addition, we are very time-poor and were struggling to find the right furniture pieces and create a coherent look. Thankfully we found Sandy! She listened to what we wanted, created a consistent and thoughtful design that we both liked, and then searched far and wide for the right pieces. Some were made bespoke, and some were inexpensive. She also used the pieces we already had wherever possible. Once all the major items were in place, Sandy then accessorised the spaces to make them beautiful but comfortable. Apart from being the most stylish person on the planet, Sandy is also a warm, friendly person who lets you have as much input as you like into the process and doesn’t hesitate to gently disagree if she believes something won’t work. Although we paid Sandy for her services, we actually saved so much in time, that it seems like we got a bargain. If you are thinking of working with an interior designer, don’t hesitate to hire Sandy if she is available – you won’t regret it. Andrea and Ross Anuzis

Over the past 18 months, Sandy has worked with me to stage 3 newly renovated apartments for sale. On each occasion, the style Sandy created was the perfect blend of modern but relaxed, a very clever mix of affordable pieces combined with luxurious items. Real estate agents and buyers alike were extremely complimentary of the end result and in all cases the apartments sold quickly, often including the beautiful furniture and accessories! I am continually amazed at Sandy's ability to envisage the end product, sometimes without even seeing the space - Facetime is a brilliant invention! Her time spent growing up in Europe provides a unique perspective on how to use small spaces in the most practical (and stylish!) way. She has an abundance of energy and ideas and no problem is too big or too small. I am now working with Sandy to update my own home. I love the way that she takes the time to really understand our personal tastes, preferences and price range. Then she executes perfectly. I would highly recommend Sandy for any interior design work - large project or small space!
