I returned to Peter to have our wedding rings cleaned, lasered, polished and an evaluation done for insurance purposes. This is the second time we have come to Peter for such services and the third time using his company (the first was to reset the diamond on my wedding ring after it because loose from its tension setting-returning my ring to the original jewellers was not an option as our wedding rings were purchased while overseas). Peter has always offered sound and practical advice which has never been to our detriment. His staff are friendly and his prices very reasonable for the services provided. I would highly recommend him as your Jeweller.

Went to Peter Shakes Jeweller with a very last minute request for a surprise engagement ring. I selected a few images from the web that we agreed were the best designs. Peter then created a unique and bespoke ring that was worked up in CAD for and then produced in very short time. Quite impressed with the experience and the fiancée was well pleased with the result.

I took my wife's fine filigree bracelet to Peter Shakes to have a broken link repaired. The repair was completed within the stated time-frame and the price was fair - substantially less than the cost through a High Street jeweler with all their add on charges. When I collected the bracelet, in the right light, I noticed a mark on another link that, on close examination, turned out to be a break. The jeweler repaired this broken link and checked the bracelet for any other links with a similar hard to see break while I waited. Overall, really good service.

Beautifully altered the size of a precious ring. I was told, by another Wellington jeweller, that my ring couldn't be upsized because of the square back, and that they in fact wouldn't touch the ring at all, not even to downsize it. I took it into Peter Shakes and after I explained he said he would be able to do the upsize. Today the ring looks beautiful and the creaftsmanship is apparent.
