A wonderful place to stay. Child and dog friendly and facilities are clean and tidy. We stayed in a cabin and it was perfect for our little family and dog. A short walk to the beach and plenty of pathways to explore. We will be back for sure.

Very basic accommodation but comes at a great rate. Dargaville is not far away for a dinner out if you dont feel like cooking. The beach is amazing and offers wonderful views and sunset experience to die for

kitchen and bathroom facilities were very clean. grounds well groomed and maintained. short walk to the beach. lovely community. friendly owners made u feel very welcome. trampoline, swing etc for kids to play on. I felt the only thing that let this wonderful facility down was the water pressure in the showers. but I guess its like that so it encourages short showers. water temperature was fine. would go again and recommend to others.

Baylys Beach Holiday Park was my first time experience camping by myself with my partner, we were expecting there to be mediocre facilities, and average grounds. However completely to my surprise the facilities were extremely well maintained, clean and of high standard, having plenty spaces to cook, and easy camp grounds, budget cabins and nicer roomer family cabins. This camp ground would happily suit the common backpacker to someone wanting a more relaxing visit to the local area. The initial service was very friendly and approachable tending to the needs of visitors and people remained civilized on the camp ground. You have attractions around the area of beautiful views, Baylys beach of which you can drive and fish on, supermarkets and foods places in Dargaville, and walking tracks around the area. The drive to Dargaville to the accommodation is a a bit longer (13km, 13 minutes) than I would like but is a pleasant drive and would only say this if I had to pick something to complain about. Me and my partner went for a road trip all the way up to see Omapere and Opononi Via visiting the mighty Tane Mahuta and other walking tracks. We saw the epic view of the Hokianga. There is a abundance of places you can see with the minimal required effort. One of the coolest places I went to was the Kai Iwi a fresh water lake that is super chill and deep and amazing on the hotest days. Overall it was a great experience and recommend all of the different accommodation provided by Baylys Beach Holiday Park. I hope to visit again and go see, tramp, and swim in the places I missed.

Such a beautiful Gem, last time I stayed here was 2007 with my aunty n uncle and family who are regulars here xo definitely will be a new regular for me n hubby, was there for Waitangi weekend and will be back again. Every where is neat and tidy, our cabins were so comfortable xo our family were next door to each other with great parking space and dining area to eat outside.

Excellent West coast camping spot, all the facilities you need with plenty of shade trees & a great local store does takeaways meters up the road.

We enjoyed our stay there. The facilities in the camping ground were clean and tidy.

Our family has been coming hear for 3 years now we alway stay in the self contained units, lovely and clean and set up nicely, lots of space for the kids to play, owners are so accomadating and friendly, highly recommended ❤️

I really enjoyed my stay here. Trish was amazing at providing information and go-to spots. I always felt comfortable and welcomed and if I needed anything Trish & Mark were always there to help. Thank you so much for having me @ your campgrounds and for always making it a home away from home. Cabins and facilities were always clean and tidy and the play ground for the kids is a treat. Highly recommend staying here.

Great hosts,excellent amenities quiet setting,close to the beach,great walk, nothings a problem here, lucky to be here during this period of border lockdowns , won’t hesitate to return.

Good surf beach and great fishing. 115km of beach you can drive along. Dog friendly. Well appointed camp grounds with cabins and takeaway shop just around the corner.

I'm not much of a camper, like in an actual tent but this was an amazing experience. Well organized. The cabins are beautiful the kitchen area spacious, and the washing and laundry here too. The bathrooms are always clean and don't forget to press the green button for hot water! Would definitely recommend to others looking for somewhere to set up camp, with your friends, family and maybe even a little get away for yourself and your other half 😉.

Need to build more showers only two for a camp that size. Other than that nice camp

We only had one night here but what a great place! The holiday park was lovely - it's real kiwi camping like it used to be!! We ended up with bunks due to booking last minute and they were surprisingly comfortable and not flimsy like bunks often are. Baylys Beach is a stunningly spectacular West coast beach making this holiday park a must stay especially if you're exploring the Kauri Coast route. A beach walk followed by dinner at local food joint Sharkeys - bliss!

We stayed in a family unit. Lovely, clean and quiet. I forgot to bring sheets and blankets, and they kindly offered and brought us both and didn't charge for them. It was a close walk to beautiful Bayleys beach with everything we required. Would definitely recommend it.😊👍

Awesome spot! Not many places you can go during peak times with your dog but this one one of those places. Very friendly staff and lots of lovely campers a lot of them with dogs. Some of the facilities look a bit tired and could be upgraded but didn't take away from the experience. 10 min walk to the beach.

Feel bad but cant remember the ladies' name but she was the best, really nice person and very welcoming,happy to point out local hotspots for adventures.we stayed on waitangi weekend 2 nights, one night in a cabin one night camping. Cabins are perfect for the campground, a really good experience minus a couple roudy neighbors but that was to be expected.same for the campground.good facilities and a good place in general to spend time away from home at the beach. highly recommend

It good for family to spend time together, it had laundromat, kitchen and other facilities. It has a beach near but it open sea, just be careful. there's a lake but it 30 mins away. You can camp in your tent, campervan or cabin. There's takeaway and diary just up the road. There's also playground and trampoline for children.

I’ve stayed here twice before - one with my partner where we camped at an unpowered site and the other with two friends where we stayed in the double bunk cabins. The facilities are sparkling clean and very close to all sites. The kitchen is well cared for and the bathrooms are maintained and have great hot showers. The site is also spacious and close to the beach. Trish was exceptional. She was kind enough to arrange for us to collect our keys when we were unable to check in before the office closed for the night. She also came to visit the next day to see that we were okay. Highly recommend staying here. There’s plenty to do and everyone is very friendly.

Nice location. Close to the beach and a very good takeaway restaurant 2 min from this place. The owner is very friendly and she gives you all the information you need. Facilities are ok but can improve a bit.

Great stay - peaceful & surrounded by nature. Good amenities - showers / toilets / kitchen / cutlery / water hose / dining area. Just couldn't find paper towels or napkins anywhere. We had to use toilet paper. Affordable for campervan bay with power. Slightly outdated facility but most necessities were available. Nice to go back to basics. The walk / hike to the beach and mountain was about 10-12 minutes and is well worth it.

Nice location but unfortunately facilities are lacking. Free unlimited WiFi is excellent and appreciated. However waste water dumping has been removed and you have to drive 14km to the nearest public station. Bathroom facilities are basic and lighting at night limited

A nice location with good amenities (4 star). It was also the most expensive park in our 15 night trip around Northland. It's a busy place. Lots of off road bikes. Unfortunately we had noisy neighbors that played loud music and partied that the whole park had to listen to until finally told by management to turn it down.

It was a nice place all you need to bring is a blanket or sleeping bag. It was comfortable for me and my nephew and the kitchen was pretty good. They provided plates and cutlery so you don't have to bring your own if you don't want to

Nice setting. The toilet/shower facilities & kitchen in need of upgrading, particularly given the rates are in the higher end. That said areas were clean.

Beautiful setting, lovely little cabins which are nice and clean. Only thing is I would have loved to have a heater in the cabin, it was very cold weather and we ended up using the hot plates on the stove to heat the place. Otherwise loved it!

We stayed overnight in a 3 bedroom Cabin which had 2 single beds in each room and one room with a queen bed.The kitchen was well appointed with basic utensils a microwave and modern fridge. The bathroom was basic but functional with a good shower. There was enough room in the cabin for 4 adults and one toddler. Great location , Great Facilities , Dangerous Beach

Good Service, Trish was very helpful...the only concerning point was during the stay...it got very busy...n crowded... and there were only 2 toilets in Men restroom and 3 toilets in Ladies restroom...there was always a queue to use...should build another restroom area with more toilets n bathrooms.

Quaint wee campground. Very close to the best sunset Beach. Longest driveable Beach in NZ. Nice and friendly staff. Been coming here for 18 years on and off. Some of the services could do with an upgrade, such as toilets & showers. Good value for money. Best of all, THIS IS A DOG FRIENDLY campsite. Camp at Baylys!

Nice tidy place. Camp manager is very chill and friendly. Dog friendly. Size: Not huge but big enough. A takeaway/restaurant/ conveninence store is n the corner. Good for families and groups of friends. Campground is 15 min walk to the beach.

Spent a couple of nights here over New years and it's a great place. Nice and quiet for a peaceful getaway. Facilities were fine, kitchen shower etc. Will certainly be back :)

we arrived almost 9pm and the office accommodate us very well. Its a small campsite, clean and with the amenities you can enjoy like the common kitchen, hot shower, hot water, cook top, fridge, playground etc..but you have to go of out the camp and stroll for about 5 mins or 8 mins if you walk slow to see Baylys beach.. my son enjoyed the trampoline though, he wont stop from jumping..

A smallish holiday park with cabins and powered sites. I found the atmosphere lacking but on the upside you could walk to the nearby beach through a backdoor gate. Wifi was not included, and there was no hedges or screening between the caravan sites, so we felt a bit exposed. It did the job but I was happy we could move on after one night.

Situated near the beach and the lady here was very friendly and welcoming. The price was reasonable. Just need our own light to walk to the loo at night. We met a cute orange cat here.

What a little gem! We loved our stay the facilities were clean and tidy and Trish was friendly and helpful with local knowledge. A definite must stay!

We drove up the West Coast from Glinks Gulley and thought we'd stay for the night in Bayly's Beach. We pulled into Baylys Beach Holiday Park. We were given the choice of a cabin that slept 4 or a self contained cabin. Upon inspection it was no competition, we decided on the self contained cabin. It has all you need to enjoy an evening in Baylys. The receptioned with local knowledge suggested a walk around the cliff tops to watch the sunset, which was georgous and we ate at the local takeaways for our evening meal. Would recommend staying at Baylys Beach Holiday Park.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds. We had our own kitchen and bathroom. Free wifi and a complimentary cat. :) Good experience overall, just don't go swiming on Baylys Beach...pretty dangerous.

Everything was very clean and tidy. And the staff was very kind and helpful. If has a brand new trampoline and nice playground for the kids. Kitchen available. I completely recommend this place.

Conveniently located near Baylys beach and other nearby walks, this was a nice place to stay for the night. We drove our campervan in, had no problem parking since the sites are spacious, and enjoyed our evening. The price is reasonable and the kitchen was clean and large.

5 stars for Excellent customer service from Trish ....lovely ambience however surely needs to upgrade showers and toilets ....in numbers as well as cleanliness.

We were warmly welcomed by Trish, our host. She accommodated our request for an extra bed and was truly helpful in getting us acquainted with the fabulous walks and views of the area. The wi-fi was sufficient for our needs and there were ample information for petrol stations, restaurants, supermarkets and travel times to nearby areas of interest. Maybe, we'll try quad-biking and horse-riding at the beach next time we visit.

Seems like the owner has brought it but is not interested in making it feel warm and welcoming. quad's for hire tui joke place has a lot of potential amazing area yet seems stuck in 60s as of color and clean toilets and showers and a welcome to our home introduction yet price is more than beach front anywhere I have found so far in nz

Beautiful spot nice friendly staff made me most welcome beautiful beach awesome surf. Alot of plastics washing up on the beach so make sure you take a bag with you on your walk.

Easy access to beautiful beaches, clean facilities, hot showers, community kitchen area with stove tops, refrigerators, microwave, RV hook ups, and MOST importantly...Trish and Mark are the most AMAZING hosts and genuinely warm and caring people. A MUST see location and a wonderfully quiet place to stop and rest as you journey.

We stayed here because we could not possibly drive any further after a long day of driving, and while initial impression was it seemed a bit neglected, Bayly's Beach Holiday Park is actually a secret gem. Midwinter, there's no one nearby, and we can relax in peace and quiet, with the park's resident cat while our son plays around on the grass. A wonderful find.

Peaceful spot. The actual coastline is a bit closed in / closed off around the area, with the dairy cows getting the best of it - but this is a nice spot to park up if exploring the area. :)

Facilities are clean. Campsite was big enough to fit 4 adults with 2 cars. Was a convenient location for us as we wanted to drive onto the beach. Can hear the ocean nearby. Our campsite neighbours were quite rude though, they kept insisting we were parking on the road and on the wrong site when we weren't, eventually had to go back to the owner to sort out after which the neighbours realised they were actually on the wrong site...

(Translated) The campsite is visually a bit stale, but everything is very clean. The showers are free, there is free Wi-Fi, but unfortunately the connection is often very bad. The kitchen is equipped with all necessary utensils including dishwashing liquid. Washing machine and dryer cost 4 NZD each. In the cabins there are two sockets and the bed is very comfortable. The beach is about 10 minutes walk away, about 15 minutes by car to the nearest supermarket in Dargaville. (Original) Der Campingplatz ist zwar optisch etwas altbacken, alles ist jedoch sehr sauber. Die Duschen sind kostenlos, es gibt kostenloses WLAN, leider ist die Verbindung jedoch oft sehr schlecht. Die Küche ist mit allen nowendigen Utensilien inlusive Spülmittel ausgestattet. Waschmaschine und Trockner kosten jeweils 4 NZD. In den Cabins gibt es zwei Steckdosen und das Bett ist sehr bequem. Der Strand ist etwa 10 min Fußweg entfernt, etwa 15 Min mit dem Auto zum nächsten Supermarkt in Dargaville.
