Reviews of Misha's Vineyard Tasting Room

We had a wine tasting with Suzie and not only were the wines lovely but it was so nice to have someone giving you a tasting based on your personal pallette rather than just trying to 'force sell' the wine. The tasting wasn't set and you could pick any 5 of your choice which was great as mine and my partners pallettes are so different. Thanks Suzie!

Central Otago wine tasting trail
Otago - this name will forever etched in my heart because 1) it's the name of the university in Dunedin where I spent 2 of the best years in my life; and 2) it's the area in South Island famous for its wineries producing some of the best pinot noir
We proceed to Cromwell for lunch - a satisfying one at Stoaker Room - and there I spotted Misha's Vineyard Tasting Room nearby. On unrelated note, do try Stoaker Room as the food rocks! Similar to the wine tasting sessions in this region, a nominal fee is charged for the tasting but will be waived if we purchase a bottle in the end. The sales personnel who attended to us here was friendly and attentive - we had the opportunity to taste one the best seller, Pinot Rose, and bought one in the end. It went to our stomach on the same day when we reached Dunedin.

Beautiful wines a stones throw from the vines.
Stopped in here by chance and had a wonderful time. We were served by Misha herself who gave us a great verbal tour of her vineyard, backed up with glasses of Centrals finest. Obviously showcasing some great Pinot Noir labels they also boast a delightful range of other wines which are worth stopping for by themselves.
Sadly not at the vineyard itself but certainly a much more convenient location, this is a must stop for any traveller (I'm sure the locals are already regulars!)

There are so many choices when it comes to wine tasting in the Cromwell area but we really enjoyed our time here. The lady (sorry, didn't get her name) was so enthusiastic and passionate about the wines Misha produce. Beautiful wines, and we walked away with a 3 pack..... Sauv, Pinot and Rosé.

What a great tasting experience that was at Misha's Vineyard Tasting Room. Very elegant decorated room, lovely staff and very nice wine indeed. If in Cromwell and you enjoy your wines a must visit.
J.
Very welcoming and the lady doing the tastings was so calm and single-handedly dealt with 5 tasting couples simultaneously. Nice whites, not a fan of their Pinot Noirs, although I suspect if paired with food they would do better.

We had the best wine tasting at Misha's! The owner (Andy? Sorry didn't catch his name) Was super friendly and helpful! He was very knowledgeable and informed us so much on the processes of wine making and how his grapes were grown. Can't wait to try his wine again soon! Definitely recommend!!

My husband n I visited Misha’s Vineyard on Nov 18, 2019. It was one of the highlights of our NZ trip. The dedicated tasting room venue is not big but the atmosphere is great n comfy. I had been to other wine tastings but this boutique setting outlet was different and very inviting. You can pick 5 wines out of the tasting menu, the ones we picked were so good. Susie, the manager was very nice. She explained details of every single wine. I definitely recommend to others who plan to visit wineries in the Cromwell region near Queenstown. Guarantee that you will not be disappointed.

Cannot rate Misha's tasting room more highly. Lovely staff, never felt uncomfortable as sometimes you can at tastings. Almost all of the wine there was delicious, being able to pick 5 of the ones you wanted to try was great too, for those who don't like some types. The room itself was gorgeous and you got your own wee table for the tastings. Safe to say we walked out with a few bottles. Thanks for the great experience.

Im not one to normally leave reviews but me and my gf decided to go wine tasting as we are not the most knowledgable. Sue gave us the best experience she knew her stuff and she has a bubbly personality and was so lovely. Great little adventure out and so welcoming. Love that u get to keep notes on the wines u try. Thanks a lot, ab and luke x x

I've been familiar with Misha's Vineyard wines since their earliest vintages, but I've not had a chance to try the wines for quite a while. So my partner and I were very happy to find the tasting room when passing through Cromwell on our journey around the South Island. Their tasting represents great value -- 10 premium wines to taste at less than the cost of a glass of plonk at a restaurant (and reimbursable off a purchase -- even of just one bottle).
I was delighted to see how the quality of the wines has improved even further from the wonderfully promising start that Misha's Vineyard made 10 years ago -- and how well both the pinot noirs and the aromatic whites are aging.
The set up of the tasting room may be the best in Central Otago -- certainly better than any we have experienced. Suzie, the tasting room manager, is welcoming, highly efficient, knowledgable, and very professional. Misha herself popped down from the office upstairs to have a chat, and we also met her husband Andy. It was great to hear some of the stories of the vineyard and the development of the brand, and also to get inside information about the Central Otago area as it relates to the viticulture of this fabulous wine region.
Misha's Vineyard has a terrific range of wines wines to taste, and if you are not familiar with them you will be bowled over not only by their award-winning pinot noirs but also by the exceptional rieslings, gewurtztraminers (including a delightful late harvest dessert wine) -- and even their sauvignon blanc which will have you thinking you are in the Loire Valley rather than New Zealand. Tastefully done food platters are available too if you want to taste along with some cheese or meats. You'll probably end up buying a few bottles for your continuing trip or even a case or two to ship home (overseas shipping available).
If you have even a passing interest in wine you'll walk out of this tasting experience knowing more than you did when you came in -- and certainly having learned a lot about the Central Otago region wine industry.
Highly recommended as a serious wine tasting experience in a delightful environment, and managed by people who are not only knowledgable but thoughtful and passionate about what they do.

Lady who served us was so knowledgeable and friendly (awesome blue eyeliner too!) Nice and warm in he building, great tasting notes and opportunity to write your own notes too.

One of our all time favourite wine tastings! Misha and Suzie were so so accommodating, friendly and described the wines so beautifully! We absolutely loved the wines and loved the experience! Thank you so much! X

Excellent place on the way to Cromwell! We did wine tasting while having a very informative session with Jill. Learned quite a few things about the history of the place and the wine-making process while trying their outstanding Pinot Noirs. Although the tasting room is not in the middle of the vineyard, we've had a very good time there!

Great wine tasting in an unassuming place. Their wines are very good and reasonably priced. We especially liked the rosé and pinot gris but everything we tasted was nice.

A must visit for wine lovers!
We have been driving around visiting vineyards in the last a few days and this is by far the most impressive for both the wine quality and tasting experience. If you are into wines then this place should definitely be on your radar for a visit.
Misha's is a family owned new plantation based on a historical gold mine location. The 26 acres of land provides a list of aromatic whites and centroal otago's signature pinot noirs. As a reasonably small player, this is listed as the top 20 wine producers of New Zealand - and if you taste, you will be able to tell.
the Tasting shop is now moved to across the road from the previously within the vineyards so it is now much easier to find. We are welcomed by friendly staff with great knowledge and compassion for the wine. Every tasting is a quality sip here. We also had a casual chat with the owner Misha and Andy. You can see even though the place is not that old but they certainly have their story to tell.
Given that Otago is quite crowded wine country, Misha's certainly stand out with their quality effort and their wine is very reasonably priced. This should be on your driving map and you will only be happily surprised.

Excellent producer of fine Pinots. Recommended for those looking for subtle barnyard character in their Pinot Noir. Cellar door lady used to work as viticulturist so please ask questions if you want to learn more.

Amazing assortment of white and red wines with a passionate and knowledgeable host.
10/10 would recommend! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
