Reviews of Brennan Wines
C.
Wonderfully inviting and friendly staff who have vast knowledge on the Wine process, so very technical and just fantastic. We enjoyed good portioned wine tasting for $15 with a good explanation on each one and a beautiful setting as well.
C.
Excellent winery with delicious options, friendly staff, and informative tastings! We arrived to a warm welcome right when the vineyard opened and did the 3 glass tasting per person generous pours. Stop here for wine tasting!

Off the main road in the valley easily accessible by car (and bike but a bit of an uphill push near the end). Great service and wine. They serve food including smaller sharing platters which suited us. There is also a "picnic area" amongst the vines which we enjoyed. Would visit again and recommend you do too!

Stopped here with the hop on hop off bus. This was one of my favorite wineries. The tasting was excellent. Well informed staff, delicious award winning wines in a scenic spot. Highly recommended. Will definitely return.

Beautiful winery and outstanding service. The cheese platter was delicious, the wine selection was amazing, and the guy who looked after us couldn’t be any more friendly and helpful. My hat goes off to Brennan Wines for a wonderful experience and such a fun time!

Visited on a cold Sunday afternoon and was welcomed with a big open fire and friendly service. Several options for tasting, either select a few favorites or have a guided tasting. We selected three each so were able to try six wines together. Generous pours with a few extras as a surprise. Also recommended to try the food menu, we selected a tasting platter which had a good selection of chesses and meats. If visiting in warmer months there is a petanque court to use.

I spent a lovely 90 minutes at Brennan Wines. Loved the wines, the view, the platter, and the great conversation and knowledge of Ray our host. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon. Highly recommend.

We returned to Brennan after having had a lovely experience here in January 2019. This time around, the experience, wine and food was good - my only disappointment was the super small tasting volumes - about 10-15ml. I know this is a small property that makes limited quantities, but down the road at Peregrine the wine tasting is for free (compared to $15 at Brennan) and their tasting portions are at least double - in line with all other wine tasting experiences we have had.

A friend and I visited Brennan Wines and were blown away by the service. We did the wine tasting with a platter and had Chris as our guide/waiter. He was friendly, easy to have a laugh with and very knowledgeable about all the wines on offer. You could also see he was very passionate about what he does which made the experience that much more enjoyable. Thanks Chris! We hope to visit again in the near future!

Lovely setting and good platter of cheese and salami. Wine tasting costs $15, cheapest platter is $30 and glass of wine is $10 plus. Nice wine (I tried some of my friend's) but unfortunately they weren't very flexible with letting me have a small glass of wine to go with the platter we had bought for lunch- I didn't want a large glass as I was driving and we had a long journey ahead of us. This left a slightly sour taste in the mouth so I probably wouldn't go back but still overall had a nice time.

Great little winery! Very friendly and relaxed staff, nice grounds, award winning wines, what more could you ask for?
Their dog had just had 10 puppies when we visited which were great entertainment while we tasted outside in the spring sun

Um, didn't expect to be blown away by the food here of all things - but if you stop here on your self-guided wine tour of the Gibbston Valley, do yourself a favour and get the pate with assorted bread - AMAZING. But also the wine here is amazing too. I'd take the time to listen to the owners wife who is in charge of the tastings and samplings. Brennan Wines has an incredible backstory and is award winning many times over. I'm not an avid wine drinker but nevertheless left with my own bottle of Trio.

Our favorite winery in the Otago region. You can purchase a tasting that includes 7 of their wines for $15. If you then purchase two bottles the tasting is free. I kept eyeing the little side plates they had that you could make into your own charcuterie. Chris guided us through the tasting and was very knowledgeable.
A.
Couldn't wish for more idyllic setting. Wines are both interesting and refined. Wonderful little winery.

This was a great visit! The gentleman in charge of our tasting was very knowledgeable about the region, wines, and vineyard. Wines were delicious, and there was a good selection included in the tasting! To make it even better we got to play games with his son and play with a pup! Great experience!

We had an awesome time visiting Brennan Wines. Thanks Chris for taking the time to talk us through all the wines. We went home with a few bottles of wine and will definitely be ordering more in the future!

Had a great time here! They were booked for wine tasting but we just ordered several different bottles and a plate of cheese and had a blast outside! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was great (very laid back).

Loved this winery. All the wines we tasted were very nice, especially the trio. The lady was very friendly and quite knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoyed the company of phoebe, the dog, too

Had a great time tasting the wines at Brennan. Do allow enough time; they take it nice and easy (which is a good thing). Very knowledgable staff and great wines, so definitely stop by if you are in the area.

One of my favorite wineries in Gibbston Valley, absolutely delicious wines and great staff who are passionate about their jobs and the wine they produce. You will not be disappointed !
A.
There can be no argument Brennan Wines are very good, particularly their Pinot Noir, but something visitors should know. There were three of us tasting, there was no mention of a tasting fee when we arrived. We tasted 3 reds, a Rose and a white blend of 3 grapes. We each purchased a bottle of Pinot Noir, I think amounting to about $180 We paid for our wine and were required to pay for two tastings at $15 each. Apparently you have to buy two bottles for the tasting fee to be wavered. Because we purchased 3 bottles ($180) the generous employee wavered 1 tasting fee. Just putting it out there, FYI Wet Jacket wines charge $5, I believe refundable on the purchase of 1 bottle, Peregrine do not charge. Brennan Wines I suspect a NZ first.
A.
Absolutely divine wines - Trio, 2012 Pinot Noir and the Tempranillo. The hosts (Sean his partner and Sharon) were perfect - courteous, attentive and genuinely engaging. Distinctively superior to the general Kiwi vineyards in the region who operate their cellar doors akin to an assembly line. If there is one vineyard to visit in the Otago valley , this is it. Understated, elegant and true North American hospitality which makes the Kiwis look like a bunch of backward insular idiots. Apologies for the last sentence but Brennan is a true gem.
J.
Wonderful wine and location. Lovely host - Rebekka - thank you!
J.
The most of wines we tested were excellent, we bought 5 defferent bottles. Very kind staff and home athmosphere.
B.
Fantastic venue and wines. One of our favourite wineries in the central otago
L.
Great wine (especially the trio, B2 and reisling)! Fire place and phoebe the dog made the experience even more enjoyable.

Beautiful. Valley to look over, small batch wine you won't get elsewhere and great stories to share in the big loungers.

My favourite winery that we stopped at on our wine tasting day! Really fun and knowledgeable host, beautiful setting and very private.
They have a unique orange wine, that might not be everybody’s taste but it‘s fantastic to try out. I think their Rieslings are the stars of the menu, the only regret I have is not buying more bottles!
5/5

(Translated) Nice building with fireplace. A very cozy winery with a large black dog matching the winery. There are few guests compared to the surrounding wineries, so you can spend your time slowly.
(Original)
暖炉を備え付けた建物が素敵。黒い大型犬が非常にワイナリーにマッチしており、非常に居心地の良いワイナリー。周囲のワイナリーに比して何故かゲストが少ないので、ゆっくり過ごすことができる。
