Kia kaha isn’t just a Pilates studio it’s so so much more it’s a family and one I’m so proud and honoured to be apart of ! From some one that struggles with anxiety Karl, Lisa, Sally, Adam and the team at Kia Kaha have made me feel so welcome and at ease !

My girlfriend dragged me along to these classes and while it's a hit to the ego, she was right. A much more challenging workout than I expected and can definitely see the benefits over the gym. You not only learn how to move better but also feel invigorated after rather than depleted. Definitely recommend

These are the best Pilates classes I have ever attended. Karl and his team are talented, attentive and focus on individuals even in a group class. They are suitable for all ages and fitness levels, trust me on this I've been through most of these levels myself so I know. I've been going to this studio for the pilates reformer and yoga classes for almost 2 years. The warm vibes, complimentary herbal tea in the lounge and passionate instructors adds more aesthetic warm surrounding, and most importantly, that retreat sense of experience each time I go to this boutique studio in the heart of Takapuna. Kia Kaha is an outstanding fitness studio with such a welcoming, positive and energetic atmosphere. Whether you are a first timer or experienced this will be the best studio everrrr!!! Karl and Sally are AMAZING. I started my first ever pilates classes here, trainers are super familylike and always gives us full charge of power and motivation!
Each class runs about 50mins and has variety of levels that can be adjusted to your own pace. Within 2-3 months later I could clearly see my ab lines forming (such a great core strengthening!) which was surprising as I have never seen that before.
One of the greatest thing is that you get to learn a lot about your postures and muscle engagement with those muscles that we wont usually use .
I genuinely really love coming to the classes, thanks to the great team I really look forward to comimg to the studoi class after a tiring day of work, it is such a great way to end the day with heals and heals of positive energy! :)

I have tried out two private reformer pilates classes so far. Although I promised Karl that I would write a review for the studio, I honestly want to keep this place secret to myself so it doesn’t get too popular (you know what I mean)🙄 All teachers at Kia Kaha are very welcoming and informative. Karl is my pilates teacher and he is fabulous! I worried a bit since I sorta wanted a female teacher but it was totally unnecessary. He is an awesome teacher for beginners like me. He makes each class super fun and enjoyable. I immediately fell in love with pilates after the first private class with him as a person who doesn’t like gym exercises. I’ve become interested in other types of fitness classes since I have no doubt that other classes would be as enjoyable as the reformer class! (I used to hate exercise) The studio is super cute and there is free tea of the day in the lounge which you can enjoy before and after the class.

This studio is top notch in Takapuna! The best reformer Pilates around! The classes are awesome! Karl has done a wonderful job to setup the studio. Wether it is Karl himself or his team, they are all skillful and professional instructors. I took class with Karl, Mallory, Olivia and Kristy. Every step and move is well explained and each class is different, so it’s not the same thing every time. They always offer different levels in each exercise, so it perfect for beginners and advanced. I joined the studio for Pilates classes three months ago and I can already feel the difference in my body: quite a lot more physical agility. I really enjoy going there three times a week. Everybody is really welcoming and friendly same as the whole atmosphere in the studio. You already feel welcomed when walking into the studio by a nice area with sofas and free tea or water. I would highly recommend this place.

I started pilates at Kia Kaha 3 weeks ago. I have to say that it has literally changed my life. I have so many injuries, yet they are healing and I have not picked up any more thanks to the amazing instructors at Kia Kaha. It has changed me mentally and physically, I admit that I do not have a six pack after 3 weeks, but Rome wasn't built that quickly! Thank you Kia Kaha.

Kia Kaha is THE best and I have tried many. They have a great variety of classes available and every class is challenging and different. The teachers are fabulous at talking your through correct technique and poses. The atmosphere and staff are so welcoming that it doesn't take long to feel at home. Kia Kaha has given me the best results both physically and mentally that I have ever had. If you have never been, you don't know what you are missing! Thank you Karl and Billie!

Just had my first session at the Kia Kaha Studios and I was blown away! A warm welcome on arrival followed by a very enjoyable class. Karl, who instructed the session, was very knowledgeable and helpful. He provided informative, easy to follow instructions throughout the session to ensure that everyone knew what they were doing. We had a mix of skill levels and he supported everyone accordingly. The design of the studio was very calming and elegant which created a wonderful atmosphere to work out in. I am very much looking forward to my next class!

A beautiful clean and welcoming studio. It was my first time doing Pilates and after 10 session and a few yoga classes I will be back for more. My body has responded so well and overall strength and clarity is better. I loved every class and teacher. The parking and tea are a plus. 5 stars!

Am new to Reformer Pilates and didn't know what to expect, wondered if it would be too easy or too hard. As it turned out the very helpful and obviously experienced Kia Kaha Studios instructors give you all that's required just for your level and needs. You can add props to your workout if you want extra hard classes with quicker results, or you can ease into it. I started off with the latter and still got great results! And looooove the cool and friendly ambiance!

Awesome reformer Pilates, I came as a complete beginner and had Karl and the next day with Carson both instructors were amazing and made me feel so welcome. Really good work out as well, I recommend to everyone!

I started doing Yoga, Pilates and HIIT training at Kia Kaha studios looking for a change in my existing training routine. I'm already quite active being involved with many physically demanding hobbies paired with consistent weight-based training. I initially didn't know what to expect but after 4-weeks the classes have been a great challenge. I've seen improvements in my fitness, flexibility, strength in muscles I never previously activated and most importantly has improved my mental health and wellbeing. With an emphasis on core and correct posture with the exercises my lower back pain is also easing. I look forward to seeing how I go progressing into the future.

This is a gem in the heart of Takapuna! I love all the classes they offer, HIIT, Yoga and Pilates (Reformer or Mat). I have never done Reformer Pilates before but during classes they give options for certain levels which makes you feel right at ease from the start. Friendly team, awesome studios and great teas! :D

It is my favorite place now! So glad I found this place. They have a wonderful team and workout has never been so easy to me. Their sessions are very comprehensive and you can do all yoga, pilates and HITT. Highly recommend everyone to try it. They limit the number per session to a maximum of 12 so you get enough space and attention from the instructor. It is so much more fun than the gym.

I went to a beautiful Mindful stretch class taught by Jemima Scholfield. Her voice was clear and message authentic. The class was a lovely balance of silence and guidance. Her patience and willingness to support all students in class was exceptional. Amazing class - highly rate and recommend.

Dear Karl, just wanted to let you know that even though I am only a few lessons in I am already seeing a massive positive effect on my mental balance and wellbeing. Those that know me outside the yoga studio will know that I can be a very staunch individual most of the time (both physcially and mentally), but I've noticed that every single time I walk out of the studio after a session, my body and mind are in a much different state, a positive and RELAXED feeling, both mentally and physically. I have tried to achieve and sustain this state many times before using many different methods but it has proven difficult, until I started at Kia Kaha. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you to both yourself, Billy and Gemima. Can't wait to progress and learn more.
