This course was simply amazing. I had no prior training other than the occasional massage given to my loved ones. The 2-day course did not focus massively on anatomical and physiological principals but rather showed me the essence of healing through massage and how to provide it with absolute professionalism. Furthermore, Donna and Gordie are masters in positive and honest, constructive feedback using both hands-on and verbal approaches. They were excellent at identifying my unique style and strengths and actively encouraged me (and the others on the course) to own it! Peace and love :)

My wife & i were gifted a night away by my daughter to VillaDonna Retreat, we received a Lovely welcome by Donna the owner & were taken to our unit a storm was brewing and Donna said I'll up grade you to our sauna room so you'll be more comfortable it was lovely and clean nice Queen size bed 32in tv with recorder & lots of DVDs, in the room behind us was the kitchen everything there including tea & coffee milk etc. The room behind that had the sauna & rear back door. We weren't booked in for any massages etc so we went to town for dinner. Next morning Donna bought us over the biggest most delicious vegetarian omelet nicest we've ever had. Thanks for making us so comfortable cheers Don & Katrina.

I spent one day at VillaDonna retreat learning relaxation massage. I loved the peaceful atmosphere of the retreat, surrounded by lush green nature. I felt instantly at home there and especially with the two teachers Donna and Gordy! They are such a nice balance, Donna is extremely gentle and attentive while Gordy has a great sense of humour and fun attitude. I found the day extremely informative and useful for improving my massage technique and loved that it was so hands on, they gave great feedback and encouragement during the massage course. I've been going to see Donna & Gordy for over 7 years now, and always go back when I'm in Tauranga! Their skills, individually and together, are a powerhouse. Both excellent massage therapists, with an incredible knowledge of how the body works, and a huge range of complementary skills. Gordy is a wizard at identifying and fixing long term problems that are beyond other therapists, and yoga sessions with Donna have focused on my specific needs and empowered me to continue improving in my own time. You know when you meet someone who knows their craft inside and out - and I wish all 'therapists' were as therapeutic as these guys. Add in their wonderful personalities, welcoming nature, and awesome humour; I couldn't recommend them highly enough!

"Utmost Respect and Trust, The man with the Golden Hands" It has been many years since a dear friend introduced me to Donna and Gordy and it has been the best decision and advice that I will treasure always. After a bad experience from early massages with other therapists they have restored my trust enormously that I have regular monthly massages. As I try to age gracefully unfortunately the body doesn't behave how it use too even though my brain is still pushing me to drive myself harder and further. Gordy possesses the Skill, expertise and knowledge to release all those knots and ailments to realign my body back to where it should be. I always leave, feeling like I could take on the world. He has such golden hands and I trust him unconditionally knowing that he will "fix me". I admire Gordy's wit and brutal honesty! no bells and whistle tell it like it is attitude!, which gives me not only a great massage, an ab workout also from laughter! Blimmin awesome! Quintin. - There comes a time in the journey of life when our travelling soul needs a restful sojourn. This is the place. Complete down time, rest, relaxation, nourishing food and peace. The retreat cabin hideaway is very luxurious and bed is very comfortable. The massage and the breakfasts provided is truly amazing. The energy is very good around the place and healing. Worth every dollar you spend. Thank you so much for your valuable time Gordy and Donna. Gordy is truly a massage therapist with a difference. He makes you feel relaxed the moment you walk into the room and I feel incredibly fortunate to have found him. He has helped me during a very difficult time of chronic injury/pain with his skills, kindness, and sense of humor. As he talks to you and prepares for your massage, you can tell he really has an interest in not only what’s going on with your body, but in who you are. Gordy has a great awareness of the body and really understands how to promote healing within it. You find yourself feeling comfortably assured that you will be receiving a wonderful therapeutic experience.

We went to a retreat day here with Donna and found it awesome. Very relaxed and informal. They gave us awesome tips and tricks that easily translated to our day to day lives. I would definitely go again- even if one particular aspect is not for you because I don't particularly like yoga but enjoyed the session all the same.

Yoga with Donna is fabulous - both in a class and one-on-one, Donna is able to guide every body into asanas that benefit them, and Gordy is an awesome massage therapist/wizard with a great intuitive technique who has been able to help me with everything from RSI to old childhood injuries. I have been a monthly customer (or victim, as he likes to say) of Gordon for around 7 years now. I can vouch that he is an amazing healer, very intuitive & knowledgable with a quirky sense of down to earth humour. I always leave after my session feeling on top of the world & wishing that the month before my next massage would pass faster... Im constantly surprised by what he can achieve in such a short space of time... My latest session, he completly cleared a sinus infection! He truly is a one of a kind healer. Looking forward to having a massage with Donna in a few weeks, her caring & compassionate nature just exudes out of her & i have no doubt that that she'll also exceed expectations :) ps Love your new place, its worth the extra drive for me :)

I Loved Loved Loved my time here..did the weekend massage workshop and it was definitely worth every ounce of the time and money i paid.. Not sure why those pictures there in this review above on Google, it's not it except for the room. The web site has the correct photos. It's more like a country farm stay or B n B, if just relax, aka retreat, it's great. That's what we did on our anniversary. Sauna room shower and toilet inside our room, it's beautiful and peaceful but not fancy. Small spa outside. 4 stars for what we paid and what we get, but really is a 3 stars accomodation, but you don't get private sauna at 3 stars, do you. I was shocked when I got here, because the pictures on this review is nothing like it, but I settled in, had a sauna, relaxed and be happy.
