Quite a small museum
It does however pack a lot of local history
Worth a visit if you would like to know how industrious early New Lynn was with Crown pottery ,Brickworks and early clay pipes

Wonderful place to learn the history of Crown Lynn pottery and to see displays of their pottery.

Bright atmosphere, the guide was very helpful and explained things in a way that kept my interest. I was pleased to be able to see a lot of equipment that was used to make bricks and also pottery. There was a blast from the past little dvd playing too that really captured everything about that time in New Lynn's history. I loved all the pottery displays, Crown Lynn was much more colourful than I expected and they made some fun figurines and eggcups too with animal themes.

What a fabulous place!
The curator of this wee museum is really passionate about the history of this place and is interesting to chat with. He has big dreams for the potential of this museum.
The kiln is the last one of many that were in this area producing clay pipes etc and china for use in NZ.
Looking at the pottery brought back memories and I learnt that many items I am familiar were produced by Crown Lynn. Who would know as they called themselves by many names.
This place is totally worth a visit.

Neat little museum with a bit history. Open grass area with some seating around outside for a light snack/rest. Perfect on street parking right beside the premesis and a nice playground park across the road for the kids if you need to kill some time.

A rare example of a museum dedicated to one industrial business, in this instance the history of the Crown Lynn pottery.

Here is a little treasure hidden out west. It may check to review opening hours before you drop in but the good news is it is now open regularly.
