D.What a pleasant surprise! Even if you have been there a few years ago, it has all changed for the better. Several newly constructed viewing platforms, public toilets and picnic table. Most beautiful views of Waimate, the ocean and the surrounding mountain ranges. Well done Waimate 👍

S.When visiting Waimate it's worth a trip up to the white horse monument. Great views of the surrounding district and plenty of walking tracks in the area. You can drive up there also.
J.Awesome view, easy access road. The horse itself needs some serious maintenance and paimt however still well worth the visit
D.There's little to see on the hill, but if you're in Waimate, you have time to kill. There are a few bush walks to trek in the area, but the White Horse Monument is worth a look too.
It's a simple monument, but the view alone is worth the trip. If you're into hiking, there's plenty of terrain to cover. However, don't try to hang glide off the hill!

There is a series of improvements being made to the monument and carpatk but for now it's a bleak spot with good views and earthworks in progress.
The white horse monument is to commemerate the Clydesdale horses that in earlier times did most of the heavy farm work before tractors became commonplace.
The Road to the monument is unsealed for most of the way. And is narrow where it crossed the small ford's.
H.What the council has finally done up at the white horse is great.its about time they listened to the what people want, or acted sooner

S.Stunning views, the air smells so clean and fresh, nice view of the sea and the eco sanctuary is just a few minutes walk along the track.
K.Beautiful view. Gorgeous to go visit if you're looking for a nice picnic place. You'll think your on the wrong road going up there though. Just keep driving to the end of the road :)
B.Not a bad monument, takes 10-15min to drive up the hill and see it. Not as big as you may think

M.Place is fantastic, the shingle acess road needs a little work, otherwise its great Can walk up with 2 options of tracks with different variants of difficulty
