This was absolutely amazing. Not recommend to those with a few walking problems and bending the back at the same time . My next birthday is 70 , and i really enjoyed it . The guide expected us to take our time, take as many photos as possible and to enjoy ourselves and we did. The train ride from the caves was soothing and relaxing . Roughly 4 hrs round trip. Use the toilets before leaving. $130 each for adults , but hey you may never get another chance so just do it . Our guide Andrea was very knowledgeable , pleasant and very patient . All in all dam good day .

The Nile river train trip was just awesome, well run with fabulous information. About a 12 min train trip followed by a 7 minute walk brought you to a swing bridge. Highly recommend this tour.

Knowledgeable guides, pristine native bush and a slightly bonkers small train ride.
After yeeting the derailed tiny train back onto the rails we were given tubes to carry with the promise of being able to sit in them eventually.
After a bit of a hill climb, during which the kids only asked 712 times "are we there yet?", we entered the caves and were entertained by the knowledgeable and kiwi-as guides. We had a "good chat".
The caving experience was actually magical af. The tube conga line through the cathedral like glow worm cave was eerie and wondrous.
Getting to sit in said tube and have my butt smacked by various rocks on the ride back down the river was as much fun as a girl could possibly have wearing a wetsuit and helmet. Would hundies recommend. Would do again.

We did a tour not really knowing what to expect. Other than initially baking in the summer heat all kitted out in wet suits, we loved it! The preparation to get everyone ready was efficient, & the guides were really informative (thanks Andrea). Between the train, walking in such stunning bush, the actual cave system, the glow worms, the river rafting... there was a huge amount of variety, in what is a very special part of NZ. Lying on your back floating on a tube ,watching the glowworms in the dark, was totally worth it alone. Thanks guys - highly recommend, great job.

The underwater rafting/glow worm trip far exceeded our expectations. The whole experience was fantastic and our guide Andrea was a gem, so knowledgeable and relaxed. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area 😃

Great afternoon out on the Glow Worm Cave Tour. Aidan our tour guide was professional and very knowledgeable about the area with a sense of humour. Would definitely recommend this one of a kind experience!

Felt so welcome at the departure site. Our guide, Samara, who accompanied us was really lovely with our young family and kept them interested and engaged throughout the tour. The time flew, and the wet weather outside was not an issue. Was also so pleased that, despite the cage being technically closed when we returned, the staff happily allowed us to enjoy a hot chocolate and yummy food.
Decent sized cave and real treat.

Lovely staff and brilliant tour guide.
Very interesting.

Wonderful experience, unparalleled in the world I should think. Nervous grandsons soon had their anxiety sorted by the staff. My cold water aversion was sorted by the wetsuit and two layers of footwear. The cave experience of stalagmites and the other ones was wonderful. Andrea's scientific explanations were terrific. Glowworms unbelievable. Rafting rapids thrilling. We can't get to the Gold Coast so get under the West Coast before the rest of the world can get back here!
