B.We stopped by the British Car Museum on a rainy day in Hawkes Bay and found an astonishing collection of classic British made automobiles, mostly from the 1930s to the late 20th century.
What an impressive collection, something you'd expect to see as part of a worldly museum exhibition, not discovered in a roadside barn in the small community of Te Awanga, New Zealand. This is nothing short of a treasure.
We greatly enjoyed the two hours we spent looking over old cars, of which there are hundreds on storage here. We very much enjoyed seeing the many old Vauxhauls, Austins, Morris' as well as the in tact Denis fire engine. The vehicles are all well labeled so it is easy to know what year, make and models you are looking at and there are many more to see than what we mentioned above.
In addition to the incredible collection of historic vintage vehicles, you can also see old equipment, pianos, TV sets, model airplane set and other items of interest. As such, even if you are not a fan of old cars, there is easily enough to spark your interest for an hour or two at the British Car Museum.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our time here and would gladly return to another look around. This is a great activity, especially on bad weather days when you are looking for something to do inside.
M.Great museum with an excellent comprehensive collection. $10 entry, could spend a few hours here if you are a true British car enthusiast. Few old Ford's in the collection such as Escort and Cortina.
A.This place has got some good collection. But the cars have to be organized. Not a must go place but for those who love antique cars, it is good.

A.If you are British and mid 50's or older you'll walk around saying you drove one, your parents drove one or a relative drove one. And you'll no doubt love this place as we did. It's not a place for children. You shouldn't touch anything but nothing stops you, the lines of sight are bad and there are lots of places little ones can disappear (most likely retuning several hours later covered in oil and grease). This isn't a museum it's a place where a LOT of old British cars are stored and someone has kindly given the public access to see it. The cars are packed and stacked in and while there is space to get through safely, there isn't the room to fully appreciate each car. There is limited information on each car so if you want more talk to Ian, the owner, or Google it.
L.Amazing experience. Cars everywhere! Up, down, left, right. Huge range and lots of Morris Minors. A British car enthusiast would love this place. Very modest entry fee, and a great owner who nips around on his scooter, showing you the various british antiques he has aside from cars. On the uper floor he had old automatic pianos, among hundreds of cute things that I can't remember. Definitely worth visiting because even the kids would be entertained by many of the things he has to offer.
C.Great experience to see so many normal British cars. Really are to many cars for the space but a nice nostalgia afternoon was had, with dad (me) telling my kids all about the cars of my youth.
A.Quaint is the key word. Worth a look if you are into cars. A huge private collection of some 500 British cars crammed into a large shed. The eccentric owner is harmless just make sure you keep an eye over your shoulder or he might accidentally knock you off your feet as he enjoys zooming around the narrow lanes on his mobility scooter.
G.Quirky and a little untidy...just the way car museums should be. A pleasant change from your usual high gloss, high end museum, it's more of a work horse...just like the everyday everyman cars that are included. I bet your Grandad had one of those.
G.Fantastic place to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day. Brought back many happy memories from childhood. Very friendly proprietor, get him to crank up the old pianos, truly amazing.
D.This site to me is the most interesting site I have seen. The love and passion that is shown for these wonderful cars is breathtaking. I feel like I'm talking to an old friend who I have known for years. I only wish I could afford to travel from here in suffolk, England to visit the museum in person. perhaps even get my spanners out and get stuck in. sadly, I would never be able to save enough being disabled and on benefits. I will carry on commenting on these loverly cars and, until asked to stop, offer any advice I can to help. A wonderful site, wonderfull cars and sounds like a wonderful gentleman in charge. good luck for the future. Dan.
d.Well lovely done and really impressive to see all the cars would have been over 3 or 4000 cars in the museum was lovely to see and funny comments on some of the cars well work taking the family and the children too
r.Really cool place, the cars this guy has collected is mind blowing, from Morris minors to a mini Ute this place has them all,
I would recommend checking it out if you are into your car's but if cars don't interest you then maybe pass on this unless you have some spare time
M.Lots of british cars and one eccentric owner. This place would have a 5 stars but the cars are double stacked using frames and are too close together to see the backs or look in the cars.

S.I went a few days ago, and I enjoyed it - the cars, the eccentricities, and the memories. Can remember many of those cars on the roads.

A.It's very good. I wish the lights were on, because it was a bit dark, it's not much to turn lights on just press and switches.
