Reviews of The Wool Shed, National Museum Of Sheep & Shearing
Fantastic.Today my son took me to The Wool Shed Museum in Masterton. What an interesting collection of farming/wool memorabilia. I wasn't expecting to find this all broadened my knowledge in many aspects of riral life. From articles of clothing, to collectables then through
the many stages of wool production. machinery, the animals. Who knew there were so many breeds of sheep.
This history of the most important industry that make New Zealand a name on the world stage. To the public all locals - go and visit this outstanding museum.
What a wonderful place to visit. I found it very interesting and informative. It is so well laid out and obvious a huge amount of work has gone into creating it.
Such a great surprise. We came in with little expectations and we were blown away with how well it was presented and organised. A gentleman who sold us the tickets himself sheered sheeps. He shared multiple interesting stories and answered even the most wicked questions. The ticket is only 10$ per adult and it is a great deal for your buck.
It was a cool experience. Brought back so many memories of the days when he had sheep, milking cows and chickens.
An enjoyable informative Museum of the Wool Industry and New Zealand Rural history, well worth a visit
Great little museum all created by tireless volunteers. Very professional and interesting. Good on you Masterton.
Lovely place to walk around even good to take dogs for a walk
Stopped in with some time to kill on a ram buying trip from the south island. Awesome, loved it.
Great farming and agricultural history. Very well presented
Definitely worth a look. Great overview of the history of sheep shearing and the wool industry in NZ. Lots of photos and explanations
