Amazing waterfall, with a massive pool to swim in. The hike itself is about 20mins and DO NOT HIKE in sandals !!! The path itself is fine but the hike can be dangerous if you’re not fit enough or unsteady on your feet! It’s very steep especially climbing back up to the car park ! someone fell off the tracks when I went so you do not want to get trapped there and wait for fire fighters to rescue you.

A great little walk for the whole family. An awesome place to pack a picnic and your togs...water shoes may be beneficial. Enjoy this beautiful spot. Walk is challenging but only 30 min.

The place is stunning 🤩 Lovely swimming hole, great for families with kids.There are shallow and deep areas to swim. Going back is a bit of an incline. Sad that some people left their rubbish behind.

Great walk down to a water hole. Best to wear covered shoes as bit of a climb down and back up. Not too hard for kids. Tip: if kids have aqua shoes could take them to walk on stones

Such a stunning spot!! I could've sworn I was in Hawaii or Rarotonga. The drive there is really nice. There is a bit of parking but not heaps of going in the middle of summer. The walk down is pretty steep and if you're going after rain prepare to encounter a bit of mud. It's well worth the hike down though as the water hole is huge and it's very refreshing to swim in. Wouldn't recommend taking children down. Recommend going on an overcast humid day, it's much nicer as everything is lovely and green. Highly recommend.

Great walking track for you and your dogs. Grab a picnick blanket, some towels & food/snacks and make it a day trip. Water was very cool and is great swimming hole. We've been back a few times since our first visit & there will be many more walks on this track.

Beautiful swimming hole with a nice waterfall. It’s an steep downhill path so reserve some energy for going up to the car park. We did it with our 4-years old without any issues so I would say that it’s kids-friendly. Water is crystal clear and cold, so you can take your snorkel gear and (desirable) wetsuit. There are no facilities of any kind, so please take all the rubbish with you.

Short walk (20 minutes or so) and pretty steep in parts, but TOTALLY worth it!! Dogs allowed and I'm SO THANKFUL because ours had a blast. Everyone there was so lovely - really chill vibe.

From what i saw, it's an exciting walk to go on. Don't go in the rain like i did - the track is too slippery even for my dog. Some places have a big drop off so not a place for little children or grannies and grandpa's with wheelie walkers. I didn't make it to the falls, but definitely going back to try again next weekend. It's a bit of a climb back up to the carpark so take a drink bottle. Aftet the walk, we took off to Henry & Ted's in Papamoa(15 minute drive approx) for an organic coffee and chocolate rev up. Makes for a good half day if you're looking for something to do in the rain!

Amazing spot. Great for swimming but is cold (it’s a river) and does get deep quick so really young kids would need close supervision. Easy to walk across (fording river) to opposite bank which is sunny side in afternoon. Is 30min round trip but very steep up/down with lots of steps and stairs (man made and uneven tree roots) - so not for the unfit. Pretty tidy when we were there but idiots still need to take out their rubbish (and council obviously does little weekly maintenance).

It is like a hidden spot but getting popular. If you follow the tracking road you will see the beautiful water and turn left at the end of the tracking road you will see hidden(?) diving spot as well. After sunset there will be some bugs and mops and water is pretty cold so try hot summer daytime. It will cool you down =) This is a really lovely spot!

Very cool hidden gem! The walk down to it is a bit steep and requires a good level of energy/fitness. The water is amazing and the swimming spot is quite large which is great.

Easy short hike, fairly steep however, and around 15 minutes. Water is freezing, even in summer, but well worth it! Crystal clear and clean. There is a rope to pull yourself up the waterfall itself, and it's quite a fun jump down (just don't dive as it's not too deep).

It's beautiful & a lovely little local Track, w birds signing. BUT by no means it is easy. We did it with a toddler, so it took us close to 2h return. Otherwise I think it would be an 1h return. Note it is very steep, with rocks, tree roots and tripping hazards. Suitable shoes is a must. In wet condition it can be very slippy.

This swimming hole is absolutely breathtaking, it can be a bit of a challenge getting up and down but it is well worth it. The walk doesn’t take very long but majority of the walk is very steep and can be a bit slippery. Towards the end of the walk as you get close to the water it can be muddy so prepare to take of your shoes! Would highly recommend seeing this place for yourself, photos can do it no justice.

Great place...Local swimming hole with a solid walk. Steep walk in some places but average fitness will see you right. Definitely bring a couple bottles of water. Not many visit as its hidden away. No toilet facilities.

A bit of a secluded gem I’d say, carpark is off to the side of the road more or less in the middle of nowhere so be aware - when I went we had the place to ourselves. Beautiful cold water but it’s a short walk and well worth a visit

Nice waterfalls near Tu Puke. It’s in road no.4 about 20 mins walk down the valley. But while hiking up could be bit difficult for few people as it’s has steep and narrow steps.

Beautiful spot. The falls aren't that big but the pool in front of them is. A great swimming spot. Quite steep and lumpy dirt track so wear good walking shoes.

About 15minutes to get to from a small car park but some room to park on side of road. The path is quite natural and steep at times, some staircases have been created. Once at the river to right and follow it to get to the falls. The water is quite crisp, but nice to relax at. There is a rope to the left of the waterfall to climb up if you dare. Take a picnic and relax in nature

Wow!! What a cool adventure! Although very steep and rocky and narrow around some bends, we did this walk with 7 kids (ages 1 to 6). It's doable , but wear sneakers and a backpack. Avoid handbags and too much stuff. Water is crystal clear and cold. Of you have rock shoes those will be ideal. Definately worth a visit ♡

It's a well used track, good made wooden steps in places! Lovely water fall, large swimming hole, worth a visit, but some have to spoil the top parking area with rubbish dumping over the bank!

A little bit of fitness required for the numerous steps down into the gully (and the steep climb back up!) but the falls view and swimming hole make it so worthwhile! An idyllic serene and beautiful place for a picnic, swim or just for enjoying the wonderful view :)
