Rode from Featherstone end to top and back, excellent ride. Unfortunately didn't have time to ride Wellington side. Great interpretation boards.

Thanks Dave and Cycle Rimutaka for a totally memorable 3 day adventure. Stunning scenery, great fun and just about the right level of adventure. Will recommend to others.
S. L.
Beautiful scenery through the rail trail and around the Wairarapa Coast. 1/5 if you do it with a headwind however haha.

Jan 16, 2018 - Thanks Dave and sidekick Juno (gorgeous 11wk old puppy) for a great day, great communication, pickup, drop off, excellent hire bikes and gear and fab lunches (with GF, and no onion and garlic as requested!) Highly recommend this 39km trip through the stunning south coast with just a wee hike up over a saddle to Fitzroy Bay, rest of the ride was fairly gentle.. Craig & Jane B

A must do trail on a good day. The views are breathtakingly beautiful and the trail itself is very well balanced with a bit of adventure and some smaller trails along the way.

Amazing bike

I do not own a mountain bike. However, walking from Orongorongo station to Shingle Fan I am able to get an idea. The walk itself can be a good weekend activity for those living in the Hutt Valley or the Wellington Area more in general. Remember that there are no public restrooms. A puncture kit is strongly recommended too. Occasional seals at Turakirae Head.

A walk or ride for all comers

Rode theTrail on Sunday August 18th, found the lack of signage in Petone for the start rather frustrating.Overall pretty cruise ride from there through to Cross Creek then onto Greytown where we stayed the night. Something I have never experienced at any of the other Trails I have ridden around the Country and I have ridden most is the amount of dog POO waiting for the unwary. Obviously a great sign that people are out and about but take it home or at the very least get it off the Trail. 🚲🚲
