My family and I visited this museum yesterday and it was a great experience for all of us including my 2 boys aged 6 & 3. The ladies that greeted us, gave warm welcomes, and also presented activities for my boys to find things around the museum. They thoroughly enjoyed their time there completing the activities. My youngest was tired and hōhā by the end of our tour, but the ladies were very patient and understanding with us. Will definately be visiting again next time. Locals were free and the family pass was $25. Reasonably priced.

Fantastic display using a variety of modern technology and media to tell the story of the Scottish settlement of Waipu. Well worth the visit. Great gift shop too.

Nice People and a lot of effort to create what they have for a small town. A little hard to follow the story they try and depict of migration of Scottish families to Canada - Australia and to Waipu but interesting done the less

Really informative and well laid out. Video of the history was worth watching. Quite small but full of interesting artifacts, photos etc. Tells a powerful story of Scottish migration to NZ

Really is the best small museum in NZ. Very interesting, well presented and a lot to look at. We spent quite a bit of time here learning a part of history we didn't know. The volunteers were also very friendly and helpful in pointing out things of local interest. Recommend you make the stop if you're passing by.

The museum tells a unique story of a great migration from the Highlands of Scotland by way of Cape Breton to Waipu. The volunteers are mainly descendants of the migration and their knowledge of the history is great. Well presented and interesting array of exhibits makes this the best small museum I have had the pleasure of visiting.
