One of Auckland's best music shops, tucked away down the picturesque Queens Arcade. From vinyl to CD, DVD to Bluray it has a wide variety of formats. The shop caters to all genres so you can buy Nirvana or Bach, Dolly or Katy; the shop is well stocked. With friendly staff who will happily order it if its not in. Another great place to peruse on your lunch break.

It is not often that I would comment on the performance of a company or a staff member. However, having worked in a service industry(building) and not being a techco whiz kid the help I have recieved via email and Raf was of a standard that alot of other companies staff member could learn from. Raf was very professional, helpful and knowageable about all the products I was after. There were nobuts, maybe or I don't know like other experiences I have had. Not once did I detect that Raf was getting fustrated and exceeded all of my expectations including payment options. First package has arrived and clearly showed the items on back order. Marbecks will now be my first port of call even if there is a cheaper item avail Please pass on my thanks to Raf for his efforts Grant Mac Once again Marbecks have taken the time and made the effort to find a particular product for me. Great selection of vinyl with reasonable prices. If you like rock and Jazz they have some excellent offering.

A real gem of a shop stocking all genres of music across different media: cds, dvds, vinyl ... Marbecks is a musical institution in Queens Arcade that has navigated changes in the musical scene exceptionally well, with a wide range of stock such as, for example, Amy Winehouse at the BBC (cd & DVD double set). Staff are very friendly; knowledgeable and helpful. Pricing realistic and competitive.

I always enjoy shopping here. I've often bought DVD's and CD's there. They have an amazing range and I can browse for ages. The staff are friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended! 😁👍

If you are - like me - still wanting to play a CD from time to time then you must this place. It has something for everyone! Great service and they will happily order something they don't have in stock. Love it!

Excellent shop and great service. I was double parked outside and ran like hell to get in store to buy a particular CD for a birthday present. The staff found it instantly. Thanks so much! I’ll be back to peruse for myself next time - and legally parked so I can take my time.

Generally a great music store, and very comprehensive. Knowledgeable staff, some of whom are friendly and engaging, some less so - courteous but curt! Excellent range of classical music, as well as jazz and local NZ content. Decent vinyl selection now as well, to complement the CD stock. Worth your time and effort and if you are a music lover, they will order material for you to help you get exactly what you want.

Auckland Premier music store great selection of vinyls cds and DVDs In all genres. Something for everyone. Staff are on to it well worth a visit just to see staff recommendations. Most importantly great supporters of NZ music.

Always helpful and willing to search for what you want if they don't have it. Everything I have ever ordered has arrived promptly. These guys n girls always get back to you if they say they will. Marbecks beat Real Groovy hands down.

This is a good company to deal with. When you phone them somebody answers-you are not in a queue with " your call is important to us...". Online ordering is easy. I wished to pick up my item but this request got lost somewhere and the goods were couriered out! Anyway a refund for freight was given. An honest company.

This enterprise used to be a giant ~15 years ago where they have multiple stores selling all sorts of stuff along queen st, and every shopping mall has a store as well. Now I'm so touched that such enterprise is hidden in such a place and just struggle to survive. I remembered this enterprise tried to change he image by incorporating cafe and records together, they claimed "fine music, fine food" where the photo was just a cabinet with some bad presented sandwiches. Clearly such transformation didn't work out. I'm not sure how long they can hand in there before closing the last store, as nobody is buying cds and vinyls anymore.

Great music collection for sale. Good staff. Didn't have Welsh Choir music. Otherwise brilliant selection. Prices not bad.

Hey! I just wanted to say, not only was the selection really good, but the employees were super cool and helped me connect with local music venues.

19Nov16 I first came to this store as teenager in the 20th century I remember I couldn't afford to buy a record much because vinyl records cost so much and a lot of this cost was caused by NZ import regulations and controls with upward pricing effects. Today, I went back with my wife and we browsed for 15 minutes and bought (quelle horreur) six CDs. The store looks great with huge racks, inside, of CDs and posters artfully hung to expand the store's spatial presence upward to the ceiling over customer's heads. Mid afternoon on a slightly cool day with squalls and occasional showers in Queen Street this store was about half full of browsing customers with a steady stream of them making purchases. Good to see this store doing business!

Great record store with lots of variety and friendly staff, highly recommend a visit

went there today to buy some vinyls and walked out with a nice new copy of abbey road shops a little hard to find but once you get there its amazing!! staff are friendly and helpful and have a decent collection of vinyls, clear label which artist/genre they are the cd range is huge, not an exaggeration there are thousands of cd's there, only problem is that they are all facing with the spine out, or they all on their side so they may be difficult to find which one, again there are labels clearly shown where the genre is but the artist is sticking out so youll have to get up close and personal to see the artist amazing store, they'll be the reason ill be broke at the end of january

I have placed orders for relatively "obscure" CD's, imported just for me which arrived within the time estimate. Pricing very favourable.

It had good service and good records, some of the records are in the wrong categories though. I also wanted to buy a record which was said to be $45.00 NZD on their website but when I got there they charged me $50 NZD for it. Overall good though.

Always a joy, the people working there are friendly and very knowledgeable. Recommended even for just a flick through the racks.

They can get in special DVD and bluray imports that no other shop will do. I also find the service I get is always excellent.

Best record shop in the world! Great for both classical and rock. The staff always help with intelligent answers to questions.

Expensive vinyl, but cheery positive staff who are quick to order from overseas when they don't have a record and the people are great here!

Great coffee and food, staff were friendly, love the decor and space, also noted conference room with overhead projector - great for conference or meeting facilities.
