Bought a guitar here from Al. Great service, he knew so much and was able to offer detailed information so I could make an informed choice. He really knew his guitars and took the time to offer pros and cons. Totally great guy. He gave a few great playing tips too.

I had an unusual fault with my bass guitar and they patiently and very kindly helped me fix it with some unsaleable leftover scrap materials they had. Much appreciated, and it works perfectly now. Cheers! 🙏👍👍

Rockshop has been around for such a long time, and every one of them has barely changed, which is not a bad thing at all. I enjoy the conversations that I am able to have with the staff, and their service is commendable. Prices are steadily rising, which is not great, but understandable. Rockshop provides us with this strange sense of familiarity that prevents other music stores from rising to the top, which is exactly why I will be going back to Rockshop next time my guitars need checkups.

Rock Shop Acustic - Al was really great! Set up my guitar and didn't mind sharing lots tips to a newbie. I'll definitely return and recommend them :)

I purchased my acoustic guitar from Rockshop K road about a year ago. The person behind the counter helped me with all my queries; i tried my hand at all the ones available before making a purchase. Super smooth experience. Now jump to earlier today when I visited again to buy guitar pick. Despite these costing a dollar/piece, the person behind the counter invested so much time to help me pick (pun intended) the right one. I started with an incorrect assumption of the thickness I wanted and he was kind enough to demonstrate how different ones sound on a guitar. My guitar hasn't sounded this good for a while now. Thank you kind person...bummed I didn't catch your name. Passion - check, Customer service - check, variety - check. This is the kind of music store one always wishes to visit. Doesn't matter which part of the country I am in, I'll always buy my gear from this outlet. Cheers...

Bought a guitar from the K' Rd store. The guys were super helpful, knowledgable and relaxed about me trying out a bunch of different guitars over several visits. Took my eventual purchase, a Taylor 214, back in to Al after a couple of months to fine tune the set up. He did an awesome job. Action was lowered a touch, sound is now a little better and I learnt a whole lot about guitar tech. Al and the others at Rock Shop really know their stuff. 👍🏼

K Road branch is always my favourite music shop and it is only one that I prefer driving from Northshore and walking 1.7 km from carpark to there rather than closer one. Very professional and wonderful customer service. They response E-mail very quick and they really remember the enquiry. My bass guitar's jack is broken suddenly and I got an emergency performance. I asked another music store before and they need 10 to 20 days to repair. However, this branch only took 10 mins to finished. I also bought a very nice bass bag and they said the repair service is free. What a professional and fast service. Highly recommend to everyone! Thank you very much K Road Branch Team. I really appreciate it.

The guys in these shops are super helpful and chill. Been eyeing up a taylor acoustic guitar for a while now. I was communicating with Al who was schooling me on all the different types of woods, sound, pick ups and history of the guitars. He even gave me a magazine to check out. Al probably saved my marriage by showing me what i was really after which is 5,000 less than what i originally wanted 🤣. Legend.

Went into here to get a tuning fork fixed for my guitar. The guys were great, they found a spare one and even replaced the broken one. They were going to do this all for free if I hadn't said I would pay something. All in all it took 30 minutes and I paid very little- super grateful! Thanks

Easily my favorite Rockshop in the city. I've bought my guitar and my bass here. Amazing staff who are very passionate about their work. They absolutely love what they do and it shows. It means I can walk in and be confident that I'll get the beat possible products for me.

I bought a beginner's guitar for my nephew. The guy was very helpful. He custom adjusted the guitar I chose to make it easier for a young player to make chords. Lots of options and they play them for you so you can hear the difference between the sound quality in your budget. If my nephew decides guitar is his thing and sticks with it, I will him back here to choose an upgrade.

The only music store to sell the two basses I ever wanted so an automatic win for me. Great range of bass gear including Amps, Cabs and of course: basses! 4, 5 and 6 string models can also be found here. Staff were always great, allowing me to jam on any bass I wanted before purchase and didn't push a sale. Parking can be found up the road but it is paid so do come prepared for that.

Jack made my first purchase here very pleasing. Not over the top but definitely class service...got there just before they closed at 5:30 but he led me straight to the jam room and jammed the guitar I inquired about earlier in the morning. He also went the extra mile to change up my existing straplocks on my old guitar to the new one I just bought. Nothing beats a good service after driving from Takanini to Auckland CBD during a rush hour. Also thanks to the other guy who looked like the manager, very friendly and joined in to have a good chat! Closing time but never felt rushed. 10/10 🤘🤘🤘

Purchased my first bass guitar here in June. Excellent customer service. Gave me great advice and pointers. They let me take my time to try out and decide.

On first visit to Auckland Rockshop 98 K' Rd... Richard Williamson listened ... and assisted me for my needs (Harmonica) ... and also walked out the door with my first "new" purchase of guitar in 50 years ! with invitation to return to possibly "tweak" the neck / fretboard if desired... Today... returned and Richard and "Al" examined my guitar and "Al" applied several "tweaks" on nut and bridge... to create the perfect "action" I desired ! "Al" is a craftsman 2nd to none... and I sincerely thank him for applying his skills / talents... Now my 50 years 'aged' guitar has to be an unashamed second place to the new stud in the stable ! Cheers fellas !

Richard and Al are great and they have an amazing range of guitars. The prices are pretty good - but more importantly they are in good condition and you can try them out to find the "one". Al is really, really talented musician and technician and you can rely on him to check the guitar and set it up perfectly for you. Highly recommend!

Big thank you to the team at Rockshop! The team has great service, and they helped me get my first awesome acoustic, a Vintage Statesboro orchestra. I've been playing it everyday since. Hell yeah! Really really great guitar store! Was there to buy a Taylor GS mini with my buddy to make some street music! My friends over there gave me really good advise and we had a great time there! If I come back to NZ I'll visit u guys!

It is always pleasant to people that are knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. I find all of the Rock Shop employees are easy and straight up about their products. I will continue to shop their for my musical needs.

I've been buying musical instruments from these guys since the late 80s. I shop around but always seem to end up back here. Their selection and price can't be beat. However, a bit of arm-twisting is required sometimes when it comes to after sales service and warranty claims. My only complaint.

If i could rate 100/5 i would, AL at Rock shop K road is a LEGEND. The setup he did for my J-200 was fantastic. Thanks so much Al!

Best place to buy any instruments!

It was definitely worthwhile driving from the shore into the city in the blistering sun on the weekend to buy my son his new steel string guitar. We were helped by the most friendly, passionate and well informed man and came away confident we made the right decision - and under budget!! This guy definitely knows his stuff. I just wish I had caught his name. Thank you so much. Will definitely be back in the new year!

Great range of products and all top-quality gear. Support is always good and even got a try-before-you-buy on a product before my purchase. Bit pricey but what you'd expect from a retailer like this.

My absolute favorite Rockshop store, has the biggest range of acoustic guitars in Auckland. Both Richard and Al have been well soaked in music for years and years. Approachable + professional + skillful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rockers are there to help you out with your inquiries. With 3 shops in a row the whole range is covered:guitar and bass, drums, electronics. Brass/woodwinds need to be sought elsewhere.

Great place. All the storepeople are keen to help and will drag heavy amplifiers across a room one by one just to help you out.

Knowledgeable and friendly staff, I had a guy help me bring my bought gear to my car which was really cool. Would shop here again.

Top service from Andy, a special order for some drumsticks, with a wait time of 4 months. Other places would just forget about you, but Andy called as soon as they arrived, and got them on the courier the next day. I know where I'll get future gear from even if they are 800km away....
