I took my bass guitar in there. It was well past its best and had heaps of issues. It's had issues since I got it secondhand. I had a basic fix in mind but received a recommendation on what was needed, which was great. I took their advice and they undertook the repairs. I got it back from MusicWorks and it's a brand new guitar. Looks and sounds awesome. Worth every penny. I strongly recommend MusicWorks.

Love the layout and all the gear and choice is amazing but the best part is Rusty! The sales/fixit man! He really knows his stuff and is so friendly and knowledgeable I completely trusted his choice of guitar for my daughter! Amazing. So happy we went to MusicWorks and Thanks Rusty!

I went into the store yesterday with my father's old bass guitar as I needed a case for it so I could take it on a flight. Rusty didn't have what I needed so ordered something on overnight delivery. I left the guitar there and collected it today. He had packed it up for me so it would be safe on the flight, which I hadn't expected. He had even tested the guitar for me and confirmed it worked, which was nice to hear. He went above and beyond, and I appreciated his help at such short notice. Very passionate about his job. Would definitely recommend this store.

I sent an enquiry to ask for help with packing and sending my guitar from Chch to Auckland. Leah responded with what they WOULD do and at very little cost. I am utterly impressed with the professionalism and willingness to help me out and make what posed to be difficult task, so very easy. The guitar arrived safely today, packed very well. Thanks heaps. Must be the Christchurch way :).

This place has been my go to musical instrument shop for over 30yrs. Owner back then really cared about his Maori customers and quite often joined us at diff music event or attended Tangi when someone passed away. Today's staff are priddy good.

Great musical instruments store. Got a nice guitar strap. Lots of good advice on strap type for an acoustic. Glad I went in store to look and see. Would've otherwise bought the wrong strap online for my guitar. Seeing it makes all the difference.

Super helpful team who are happy to get down into the fine details to help you find your gem. Unfortunately the store is suffering with low stock due to COVID, but I'm sure they'll be back on it soon!

Fantastic service! After driving all the way to Hornby and being ignored at the Rock Shop by two staff sitting behind the counter on their cellphones, another eating, and a fourth who walked past me twice without offering any assistance, I left and went to MusicWorks Colombo. I visited 3 times in my quest to buy a new guitar, amp and accessories for my daughter, and every time the staff didn't hesitate to take the time to assist a "non-guitar playing" couple to figure out what we needed. Their focus on customer service first and foremost was evident in the interactions I had with three different staff across three visits. We happily walked out with a new guitar and amp at a good price, and will be back for the accessories. They not only gained a sale but a loyal customer. Would highly recommend!

Super kind, attentive and knowledgeable staff who really care about what they do. They each spent a good bit of time with me teaching me about what I was buying and walking me through various options. I basically got an in-depth course on guitars while just browsing. Glad to see such an in-depth product knowledge and staff who really care about what they do. Even though the sale was important to them, they weren’t pushy and let me make my own calls. The male staff was rude and not wanting to serve. He was very selective to whom he wanted to entertain. He should not judge a prospect by their appearance and that is bad for business. However, the female staff was very helpful and attentive to customer's requirement. That was the only reason why I am still buying at the shop.

The team at music works have so much knowledge. We went around three diff music stores for a guitar and the right advice. I wish we had gone to music works first. You must go here first for expert advice from real musicians.

Went to buy a single string replacement but they don't sell that particular one by itself, so they opened a pack and swapped out the one I needed, then wouldn't take anything for the new one. It's only a $3 string but this sort of service means they'll be my first choice when buying something bigger. Thanks!

Music Works is the underdog of Christchurch musical instrument shops. There are good instruments for kids and excellent instruments for serious players... If you're not a Fender/Gibson brand basher. In truth the instruments here are as quality (often better) than other stores. Ultimately, they hold a good range of instruments to suit all budgets and players from beginner to pro. Staff are knowledgeable and as friendly as any place, of this type.
