I had a fantastic experience shopping at the listening post. First and foremost, the staff are astoundingly knowledgeable and know their products inside and out. They also struck me as highly attuned to their customers needs, and had a genuine interest in getting the best product for me. I was asked questions above and beyond the sound quality and style such as the aesthetic of the set up, positioning, and age of the listener (which as a lay person, I never would have considered). I would also say to the listening post I appreciated both the enthusiastic and relatable (to me) communication style of the younger staff, and the professional and incredibly knowledgeable owner. Both were fantastic in their own way. I had complete faith that they wanted to give me the best possible system for my needs, and weren't trying to upsell me or give me something superfluous to requirements. It is a wonderful and rare experience as a consumer to be able to completely trust a retailers recommendations and know they genuinely want the best listening experience for you. I bought an amp and bookshelf speaker system for my parents. They love it. I would recommend the listening post to anyone wanting a music system. Even from further afield in the south island, it is worth the trip for quality of products and service you'll get.

Great team that know there stuff !! Can't recommend highly enough, from design to install they are amazing. The team just added to my TLP install from my new build the quality and results are just brilliant!! I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Very friendly and experienced staff at the listening post. They have an extensive range of products and know just about everything you could ever want to learn about them. If you have a home audio visual problem, The Listening Post can definitely provide you with some solutions.

I was struggling to pull all my digital and CD content together to play through my amp. My CD player had a USB so great for my now near dead iPhone 5S. It held charge for at least 10 minutes! Unfortunately, my new Samsung was "Not supported" it meant I could play my digital music if I remembered to charge up my iPhone or play it or through my bluetooth speaker but not my stereo... After looking on google and YT for the cables and connections and ways to sort this, I phoned you guys. Within seconds the chap I spoke to said yeah/nah, "Ifi Zen Blue is the answer". I saved up for the bluetooth beast and asked another assistant a few weeks later if it was still in stock, she immediately suggested putting it aside for me, as I live in Amberley. Mate/Matess you are legends, sorry I cannot remember your names! Got the wee box yesterday and it is awesome. Played music I haven't heard for ages all night last night and again tonight. I don't have to first add to my iPhone etc etc. Great advice, great service cheers guys. All the best Raymond Welsh

Have upgrated my 30 old stereo. New speaker cable/connections, new cable connection between amp & pre amp. also purchased a Project turntable. Crighton explains things very simply I have enjoyed the many visits thankyou Crighton

I’ve been buying gear from the Listening Post since 2001. These guys rock. All in all, it’s been a great retail experience for me. Initially I bought an awesome stereo, not a huge budget to start with, then I added a Yamaha home theatre amp and sub-woofer and a few other bits plus video stuff for kids’ rooms. I’ve had that sub for years and it’s still awesome. The amp too. I got a Yamaha home theatre sound bar, I’m about to install that home theatre amp, sub and sound bar in my new home. I also bought headphones and earbuds and radios over the years. All great quality and a lot of fun. Next I upgraded my stereo - next level – 2 McIntosh amps, a McIntosh tube pre-amp (I always wanted valves) and McIntosh CD player along with Paradigm Speakers. Plus cable, interconnect and other upgrades along the way. Every new item was a step up in sound quality and enjoyment. I remember blind testing an interconnect cable upgrade with 2 family members one day, they picked the upgrade option with their backs turned every time! So I had to buy it. They’ve always quoted a system that was within my budget and ideal for my needs at the time. My experience is - many instances of the Listening Post providing service well beyond the call of duty, and I’m very grateful for that. What do you buy next when you already have your ultimate stereo? …..The ultimate home theatre I guess.

Cool helpful people here (even if he did hate on my amp a bit). Lots of helpful advice and gave me a great deal to boot! Pointed out some useful things I hadn't thought of either. Definitely will be coming back here (when cash flow allows that is).

Great service - these guys fixed my Sennheiser headphones for $45 when other stores said they weren’t worth fixing! Would have been good to be more updated during the fixing process (they fixed it without checking that the price was OK with me) but other than that really awesome service!

Really great service. Gave really good advice on where to put money and where to save it. Josh went out of his way to get our installation sorted. Highly recommended.

In my experience TLP is unmatched on both service and knowledge. I have been a loyal customer since 2001 during which time I've been educated, rewarded and made to feel like an apprecaited customer. I have recommended them to friends and family for all things audio visual. Their values and on going service is to be commended.

Went in looking for some ceiling speakers and was helped out by Jason, who was very friendly, knew his stuff and helped me get what I needed.

These guys are awesome. The in store demo rooms are fantastic for try before you buy and the guys really know what they are talking about. a pleasure to deal with and i LOVE my new stereo!

This place has a lot of nice hardware and friendly staff, if you like audio hardware go check it out, even if you're in a budget, they'll sort you out. In a weird place though.
