If you are a vinyl collectionist, then you need to visit this place. They have an extensive, yet affordable collection of vinyls, and I was glad to see that they are following the government mandates. Will come back for sure!

Great authentic music store run by people who genuinely care about music and meeting customer's needs. This is the place to go to find that vinyl you've been hunting for forever. Could spend hours in here and barely scratch the surface on what they have on offer

Slow Boat is like that favourite, comfortable old hoodie - it is always easy to slip back into the groove at this shop of eternal delight. I could spend hours in here - oh wait, I do! the support and promotion of Kiwi music abounds. what a treasure trove of sound with superb support and knowledge from the crew. they are always willing to help...

Great shop with great staff
Picked up four nice vinyl albums that all look in good nick and at reasonable prices including an early Pat Metheny gem. Got a discount too for no particular reason other than I live near Tauranga. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful Cuba St establishment. We will be back next visit to Wellington

I won't pretend like I'm some sort of expert when it comes to vinyl, seeing as I was only introduced to the format about a year ago. However, the experience that Slow Boat Records has to offer is like NO OTHER VINYL STORE I'VE BEEN TO. Slow Boat has an awe-inspiring range of records both new and old, all of which has been sorted well into their respective categories so that you can find the sound you're looking for easily. I spent hours diving into the jazz records alone, I'd need to set aside an entire week if I were to advance to any of the other genres. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable, and were able to send a shirt depicting the logo of the store down to my home in Christchurch when they had re-gained their stock, which I am incredibly happy with. I would gladly come back to Wellington solely to visit the store again.
