Great arena that provides events for a large array of shows, performances, graduations, art galleries, etc. I have gone many times throughout the years and have generally had a great experience. Concessions are (understandably) expensive and the seats are quite tightly packed, but overall it’s the best place for venues in NZ.

My family and I went to Spark Arena to watch the Lion King show. It was a very nice enjoyable evening. The organisation at Spark Arena handled the big event very well. We went through smoothly from showing our tickets to a very friendly staff to our seats with ease. There was plenty of foods and drinks to select. Minimal queuing. You can also put your jacket at the cloaking counter.

A great venue for staged events. We had great views of the whole arena. Stadium has been well designed with great public areas for food shops and plenty of easy access clean rest rooms.

We saw a concert here while visiting Auckland. It’s a really great concert venue with some great options for seating. We sat in the box seating area in the back, and we really enjoyed the unobstructed view. There was food and drinks available just outside the door with restrooms that were close by and easily accessible. There is plenty of parking available at the Arena, or nearby, also We also saw the Van Gogh Alive exhibit here, and it was absolutely amazing!! We would highly recommend it!

Watched The Lion King Musical in soark arena.. it was amazing. Great great show. The arena was too big for the show though, a show that great needs to be in a more enclosed area... the cast were great especially the little simba. He had so much talent, and of course everubody else..they showed so much love to arts and so much talent..overall, it was a great experience.

I had ghe pleasure of calling this arena home for almost two months. Which included rehearsals and shows, the audience here in New Zealand is second to non. One of the best reception we've ever had consistently.

Cramped seating, sub par expensive food. Great show though and you get in and out really quickly. People are packed in. If you need wheel chair access you are in the arena which is not a bad thing. Toilet access is fine if you're a guy, for the ladies the queues were long.

We’ve been to Spark for other events- the latest is the Van Gogh Alive exhibition. For a concert- the arena is awesome. For this exhibition- the arena is awesome. The scale of the building lends itself to provide awe inspiring experiences no matter what the event! Can’t wait for the next event, wotever that may be.....

Lion king was fabulous and the arena team were helpful, friendly and so courteous. The venue was great, accessible and easy to find your way around. I would suggest you buy a drink downstairs on the way to your seat as it looked a mad crush at half time.

Saw The Lion King...was so so so awesome I'm still buzzing, we saw live show 3 years ago in Singapore and I could watch million times more...if your in Auckland or near, they still have tickets for through the week...a must see 👀😀

We visited this year two attractions in Spark. Van Gogh what was just incredible and also the Happy Place what was so much fun 😂

Great little arena. Was a nice venue. Parking not so much with the closest non booked parking at Britomart a right rip off

Van Gogh alive - art experience This was well worthwhile. A beautiful artistic reflection of Van Gogh himself. His deep feeling and emotions combining with deep thoughts appeared to paint a picture very true to the 4w5 enneagram type he is thought to be. Words of advice.. I was told you are able to stay as long as you like despite it running in sessions. There is an area at the beginning for viewing paintings, personally I feel not enough time is given for this before interactive show starts, after the show you exit and can visit the sunflower room. A room with mirrors and sunflowers, lovely place to take a photo. I exited after this, thinking that was it but after asking was told we were allowed to reaccess the first painting room again. Had I not been with others who needed to go, I could well have spent another hour there. Estimated ideal time would be 90 to 120 mins for those who process things deeply and like to reflect. Some may finish in as quick as an hour.

It was awesome to stand outside it looking up at it.an living in the vicinity even better for all those concerts, that go their worth a look at nite.

Awesome atmosphere and great venue - we've had many memorable events here and the joint venture with Spark is fantastic, always good coverage and WiFi when inside. Can't wait for the next concert, there are some good ones coming up in 2019!

Wonderful evening at the Arena watching the Lion King. Friendly staff, the lines flowed in quickly. A lovely place to attend an event.

All in all a good venue, prepay parking is good, less stress but too expensive for parking, $20, 6pm to 11pm, most concerts will run till 12pm. Lots of staff were helpful, but very small seats & leg space, I'm a average size man 5'8", every time someone gets up to go out everyone in the row has to stand up to let them out, also the stairs in the arena are not child or elderly friendly, there must be a better safer design for hand-rails. The seats are really uncomfortable too, take a bum cushion, no cup holders or side trays, everyone wants food & drink, your so close to the person next to you its like your eating out of their lap. No rubbish bins in the arena. The two rather small big screens on the stage are in the wrong place, need big screens above the performer not on the side of the stage. I really enjoyed the concert was cool, good mix of people, singles, Mums and Dads, pregnant couples, lots of kids and young-ins too, all having a really good time. Don't wait buy that ticket and go to your favourite artist, band, concert or show.

Went there to watch the Lion King Musical. It was a great venue, easy to get in and out, spacious and comfortable.

You can find great event here. And you can park at the side of the road if you are lucky.

My partner and me went here for a Chinese New Year celebrations. And it was surprise me from a lovely set of fireworks. It was amazing moment for us. All food in a even was cheap, clean and yummy

First time to Spark arena. Entry was quick and well organised. Finding seats was relatively straight forward and assistance available,if needed. Facilities were plentiful and easy to find. Food and Beverage offering was the old standard fried food and alcohol.. not easy to find an ice cream. Tie. To get healthy options going or at least non fried food. Game was fine but missed the centre TV screens like in Sydney.. it made it harder to watch replays when you are on the sidelines of the court. Exit was quick and easy. A great night out!

This venue has improved a lot over the years. Depending what type of event the bars can get busy but hey that's what happens. The spirit drink pouring can be a little bit and miss.

Excellent venue, been multiple times...but always use the event parking

You feel policed the entire time while at this stadium, rather than a customer who's paid a lot of money to be there. Most recently, at the end of the night after Imagine Dragons, the women's toilets at the end were closed in front of us just as we were about to go in. Sure, I get you need to shut them to keep stragglers moving etc but there were queues at all the others! When there's no queues fair enough but this was just bad service.

Came here to watch Incubus earlier in the year. Really large venue inside. Well organised so it was easy to get in and out of the stadium. It wasn't too hard to get to with trains and buses nearby. There is also a few parking lots nearby.

The first theatre production I've seen but definitely not the last. Lion King was amazing

Great place. Great concert. Comfy enough seats. Maybe a bit close to each other.

An excellent experience. Seats are extremely comfortable, with cushioning- a welcome change to most stadium seats, which are hard and cold. Toilets are very clean and there are plenty, so not a long wait. For Spark customers you can enter early and go to the S Lounge- first in first serve. In the S Lounge you can get one free drink from the bar and free food. It's a very classy place, and there is even a live band for entertainment. You can also go outside onto the long balcony, which has lots of tables and is lovely in the Auckland climate. Would absolutely recommend, this is the best stadium I have ever been to. Always enjoy going to Spark Arena. This time went for the Joseph Parker/Junior Fa fight. Pretty full house, floors were sticky and toilets filthy, guess u have to expect that with a big crowd. Food area worked well and quick to get in and leave.

Good venue for concerts . Have seen some very famous musicians perform here. Santana, Kiss, Def Leopard, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Disney on ice, Iron Maiden Just to name a few.

Went to Spark arena to watch Disney on ice. Great venue for this show. Tiered seating allows good clear view of the arena. My daughter was a little short but had a good view when she sat on my lap. Was concerned when I booked the tickets that we were on the corner of the seating area and quite high I but was fine, we got a good full view of the ice. Had a great night.

Have had some of the best nights of my life here. The arena isnt big, so even being on the seats far away, you don't feel too far from the stage. The staff has been friendly whenever I have lined up the whole day too

Amazing went to 1d and a couple of other concerts and let me just say I cried like a baby. I'm like these celebrities are people too and then I see them and I'm having a complete melt down.

I've been to 2 concerts here while it's been the Spark Arena, The KFC Edgefest and The Prophets of Rage. They were both excellent, myself and the people I took had a heck of a time! The arena is beautiful and they really do put on a good show!

Such a big place..At 1st found getting to my seat bit steep..got use to it...So organised re nibbles drinks ...bit pricey Could do with more toilets Will go back..as I know what to expect..

It was huge, clean, i like how the toilets are easy access everywhere you go. The sound is great. I love it!

Went and saw John Mayer and he was amazing loved his solos on the guitar and they sound was really good. Would say to many lines to get drinks so didnt bother or go toilet. Crowd was big good atmosphere.

Lion King was an awesome experience. The Arena was laid out very well for an elderly woman with mobility issues (mum). Easy access to the floor seating (which is raised) and toilet queues moved quickly. More seating in the foyer would have been appreciated.

Spark Arena is easy to access. I paid a ridiculous amount for a drink of water which had to be poured into a cup. I would have like to take the bottle. However I could have had a free cup if I had waited in line. You live and learn.. Overall great experiences there. Friendly helpful staff.

Third visit and this place keeps growing on me. Acoustics are good seating isn't the most comfortable but okay . No parking here but private parking buildings close by and britomart only a ten minute walk.

Had a great time here for the pink concert. Wait time to get in was minimal - staff processed everyone in a timely and professional manner. Food was ok... Pricing was as I expected for a stadium.. as were drinks -$5 for a large cup of coke .. chicken tenders we're awesome - real chicken breast. All in all it was great :)

We went to see The Lion King at the Spark Arena in July, 21 & we were quite disappointed by the seating. We have been to the Civic Theater a number of times, sitting in various seating positions & all have been great. This was our first experience at Spark so we paid a reasonable price for our tickets which we purchased as lower tiered. Unfortunately, this turned out to mean flat seating on the ground floor, not tiered at all & the seats we sat on were not good at all. The seat-backs were very low & only came halfway up my back (at 6'1, I am slightly taller than average, but these were like kids seats) & offered no upper back support. They were extremely uncomfortable to sit against & not what we expected at all.

Went to see Pixies in General Admission Floor. It was fantastic. The arena is intimate with great viewing from most areas. Bars are in the venue as well as on the concourse. Staff are helpful, heaps of toilet facilities, pass outs are available and the alcohol is about $10 for beer and $10.50 for spirits.

Spark Arena staff were very helpful. The show that I watched was sold-out (July 11 2021) and the ushers did a great job getting people seated. The food was OK. The arena was clean inside and out. The seats are close together, but that is what you get at large venues.

Concerts are very well organized. Entry can be annoying at times but overall great job

Great service even though it was packed with people. Fast, safe and enjoyable experience visiting Spark Arena. Or maybe I was just excited to see Hugh Jackman perform live first in Auckland. Nevertheless, my first visit to Spark Arena was exceptional.

Went to The happy place exhibit had so much fun would recommend for anyone who loves taking snaps for the gram 😊 So much fun.

We went to go watch UFC Auckland and it was amazing. Blessed to have unbelievable seats. Overall, the stadium was clean, with multiple security checkpoints and great snack/drink locations dotted around the stadium. Look forward to visiting again

Nice big place. I'd say the only major issue is events that are more targeted to one gender causes huge bathroom cues. Eg. huge male lines for wrestling, huge female lines for concerts.. changing bathroom allocations based on event type would be good. Otherwise lots of exits, nice open area outside, easy train access and good pickup area. Not much parking around though!

Excellent venue to watch basketball at and the layout is amazing for getting beverages and food . With hardly any lines to wait in for food and beverages because of there being so many place to purchase from.

I went to a church conference over 3 days at the Spark arena. I remember well dressed employees that were polite and helpful. There was also good clean toilets to use, a nice area out side to gather and very importantly good visibility and sound inside to hear the speaker and singing. Only drawback could potentially be parking, as I remember that was a mission! It was hard to find and pretty expensive. Some friends had parking inclusive with there accommodation in the CBD.

Top event venue! Lion King musical with teens. Felt magical. Short lines for entry, drinks and food on arrival and even the ladies toilets at 1/2 time! Best of all ALL cups, plates etc were compostable.

A good venue for the large audiences attending The Lion King. Clean, lots of interior entrances with toilets, so short queues (even the women's which is rare!), good food and drink options (a great coffee!), and lovely staff. One complaint is the seats are terribly uncomfortable. Everyone around us was complaining about them. After 3 hours we're all (young adults) suffering from either sore backs, legs, knees etc. Great that the show was amazing... Also, they only had compost bins/no rubbish bins which meant the compost bins were filled with trash. I'd give it a 5 for the positive aspects and a 1 for the seats/lack of rubbish bins.

Shout at the Spark Arena is always amazing. Love the place and the Staff.

Generally fine once you get inside. Food mediocre and drinks over-priced, but no worse than expected for an events centre. Often the usual security procedures to get in, so be prepared for a delay and getting your bag checked (assuming you're allowed to bring it in)

Wonderful experience learnt a lot more about Vincent Van Gogh. Well worth going to see.

Arctic Monkeys March 2019. Love this band, Alex is such a lyricist. Each band member in absolute command of their instruments, and at the top of their game in each moment. So many good songs, too many to list. Spark is a nice arena with good lighting and an epic sound system , well done.

Jammed together like sardines, with little room to move, the seating is less than adequate. I would be very careful where you choose your seats. I paid top dollar for close to stage seating and the view was limited and people seated next to me were spread over onto my seat. And they weren't big people. A shame that squashing people in for more money is priority rather than comfort and value for money. I hate to think how it would be in an emergency.

Went to the Pink concert here. Overall the planning and management of such a huge crowd was well implemented with little to no problems. If anything the food available could be reviewed as not very appetising . Amazing venue but advice to concert goers the standing area doesn't have very good views of the show if you are short would highly recommend seated areas.

I went to See the Lion King on Sunday July 18 and unfortunately the tickets I purchased off of Viagogo were invalid when they were scanned at the door. When we went to the box office to see what we could do they were so amazing and ended up giving us comp tickets. Even though the tickets they gave us were not the best seats we were so elated that we still got to see the show and that they were so understanding of the situation. I want to thank the box office for explaining how we can check tickets in the future to make sure that they are valid or not. I also want to thank Ticket Master customer service for also helping us so that we can file a claim against Viagogo to get a refund. 10/10 wonderful customer service all around. And the show was incredible!!

Lion King live show was FANTASTIC!!!! We attended the last and final show, We had 1min left till showtime and also had my 21yr son who is in a wheelchair, Cerebal Palsy, Quadraplegia. The security and Ushers were amazing! They had a chain of communication from the entrance up to the upper levels to get us to our seats. Getting out of the lift on the wheelchair bay level, we realized we had brought the wrong tickets🙁 we had seconds to get to our seats which was on another level and "not" wheelchair bay. Performers were starting to get into place for the show on the wheelchair bay level and needed the isles cleared! The fast and efficient decisions and Professionalism of the security staff got us to our "new" seats with 5seconds to spare!! It made our first time experience definitely a memorable one! (Had to quickly turn it into an exciting adventure so my son wouldn't get upset because we made the mistake.) They came in and saved us! Thank you to all the security and venue staff for guiding us safely in and around the Arena, even helping direct traffic after the show to get my son into his vehicle safely! And he LOVED the show!!!! A 21st birthday we will never forget! Lessons learnt with many blessings💙

Wifi coverage could be improved inside the venue. Facilities and amenities very good although more seating could be beneficial. Staff are always friendly and very helpful in times of confusion.

A clean, safe, well lit Arena for Auckland city cbd to be very proud of. The staff who work there were absolutely amazing last night at Lion King. Efficient, friendly and super informative well done! My chips where cold upon purchasing, replaced within seconds no questions asked.... While chatting during interval, we were advised to make our way back to the inside of Arena so not to be locked out..... So appreciated their service.

The staff were brilliant with helping us get better seats after our viagogo tickets were messed up. The show was wonderful. Altogether an amazing night. A huge thank you for the staff.

By far one of the best places to see any artists visiting New Zealand. So far I've been to Disney on Ice and countless other amazing artists. Parking is relatively easy I suggest looking over on Parnell rd.

Awesome seeing lion king but spark needed to lift its game in terms of food and alcohol to make it an event. Part of attending a musical is getting nice champagne in a flute or a red wine and watching the show.

Spark Arena (formerly Vector Arena) is a multipurpose arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Named for sponsor Spark New Zealand, the venue is located at Quay Park, Parnell, very close to Britomart Transport Centre and The Strand Station. The arena cost approximately $94 million,[1] and of this sum ratepayers contributed $68 million for the facility to be managed by QPAM, the NZ operator, in New Zealand's first big public-private partnership. This runs for 40 years before ownership is transferred to the city.[2][3] Arena interior in seated mode After delays due to construction-related issues, the arena's first concert was Rock Star Supernova on 24 March 2007.[4]

Went to see the Lion King great show great costumes the only complaint is typical of any arena seats were to closly spaced to each other and hard to get through a row of seats as there was little space to walk through but the over all facility was excellent

Great friendly helpful staff made you feel welcome. Well organized and co-ordinated events everytime. Very helpful young man called Ethan Gilmore assisted me and my family and all with a smile.

Went to a concert here, wasn’t allowed to go upstairs to see family that were in a different area and then had to pick a side of stage - vip tickets weren’t worth the $$ they cost! Band amazing, but night ruined a bit by misleading map of venue showing where we would be positioned.

This venue is wheelchair friendly with a designated entry for access. Great staff that provided clear instructions regarding seating and what to do in an event of an emergency. However, seating was of poor quality considering the price paid for the front zone.

This is a great facility, but not the easiest/most convenient to get to if you are travelling on public transport (parking is expensive). I chose the most straightforward - train then walk - but if you have mobility issues, it's not pain free. The saving grace is that there are lots of places along the way to sit down. That said, I'm glad I don't have a reason go to this venue very often.

It was awesome. Having the Rock 2000 party with 4 bands. Head like a hole, Racing, Villany and Devilskin.

Seats are a bit uncomfortable, but ultimately its the event we are there for that makes the experience. Crowded house, you legends!

Went to see the Lion King. Place is well run but expensive, as all places like this are. Eat before you go. Toilets had queues, but wait was not too bad. Show was great.

I like the venue. It has clearly marked entrances, signage, toilets, and very helpful staff. Also there's always food available to buy and coffee too. I attended Big House Music most recently and I had a ham carvery sandwich; it was actually delicious. The coffee wasn't great, Spark should get SaMaori Coffee in, for real. The water fountain by Door 15 tasted terrible like it really needed cleaning!!

Like others on here posting reviews we saw the Lion King show here at Spark Arena on Sunday 11th July. The arena is easy to locate within CBD of Auckland. If you are attending a show or concert here there are plenty of event parking places around the arena and within easy walking distance. They are sign posted so easy to find but be early as they are popular and get full. We went to matinee show so went to Arena early, found a free car park on street around the Arena and went for lunch at one of the many cafes within 200 to 300 metres around Arena. My only negative for the day was the lack of seating within the Arena out by the drink and food stands. Theres only a few scattered red couches to sit on and these are to few and far between. Many attending the matinee show were elderly so there was definitely not enough seats available. We attended PINK night concert here too. Access in and out is quick and simple with many staff on site working. Not sure about the umbrella rule. I had a small one with me and the gate attendant asked me to put it in my pocket🤷‍♀️ Theres plenty of food and beverage stands located within the building. Many are card only so dont accept cash. If you're thinking about going to the Lion King show. Dont overthink it, just go. Its well worth it.

The staff are lovely and the venue is good, but the organisers could reconsider their method for bag drop off/collection. More organised queues would have made the process of entering much more efficient and smooth for guests as well. However overall pleasant enough experience and Eddie Izzard was amazing as always.

An excellent place for graduation. However was very c oncerned about stairs to get to seating. Was not clear when choosing seats there would be stairs. My sister who has MS and was walking with a crutch had great difficulty getting to her seat due to the stairs. This was very concerning as if there was an emergency the time to navigate the stairs would be problematic. Please make it clear on the seating plan there are stairs. I found being more aware would have alleviated the anxiety for both myself and my sister. Another member of my family had to leave due to feeling nauseous with the allocated seating. Not a disability friendly venue. Must be inclusive to all peoples. My son graduated and was grateful to witness the event.

I have to say I genuinely love going to concerts here... last one being P!nk. I think over time they have upped their game for food and beverages. The scanner people at the front are friendly and went out of their way to help my daughter at Niall Horan when the box office girls accidentally printed out the same ticket as mine. I prefer sitting and I LOVE the restricted view seats. I've never had a problem with acoustics and believe it depends on where you sit. Love it!

Sound quality is good now and the staff run an efficient system of entry and give a feeling of being safe and looked after. Drinks are super expensive but I guess with a captured audience, they can charge what they like.

Great indoor stadium. Huge capacity, ample toilets, food and drinks options. Many gates to ease the crowd and special Uber pickup point. Located conveniently near bus stops

Great venue for live concerts. Lots of places around for dinner. Makes a great nite out.

Great shows. Horrendous prices. They has a lady shouting "come get your alcohol here" at a kids show- and of course the soda and alcohol was in the same place. Seats are very uncomfortable but the performance we watched was great! (We watched lion king)

Went to see P!Nk. No big lines to get in. Easy to find our seats. And because it's quite a small arena we can see everything happening on stage. Loved how P!Nk was able to visit us all too.

Concert and entertainment venue in the Auckland cbd. Holds a variety of events and activities. Has multiple doors for entry. Traffic around the area is crazy when events are on. Best to walk a bit if you are going.

Was worth the wait in the rain to see an extraodinary artist Post Malone at the Spark Arena. Tyla Yahweh and DJ E Nice 1 did a brilliant job at getting the crowd hyped up. The seating at the arena was really awesome although didn't spend alot of time sitting. Was great signage to find our way around and security staff were also very helpful. Highly recommend.

Disney on ice. Felt it was rather a little too commercial focused, with stores inflating the prices!! For example, a coloring book that would normaly cost $2 was selling for $15! ! Overall kids had a great time.

My experience in this Arena was an ice hockey game, Canada vs America. The Spark Arena is proficient and can handle large volumes of people with ease. Well maintained facilities with clear sounding speakers for the stadium.

Saw Roger Waters pretty gd venue but not as gd as iconic kiwi outdoor venues like western springs especially for someone like waters. Was quite a mellow vibe all in all

The concert was great. Food and drink in the standing areas of concerts needs to be rethought. Had numerous drinks spilt on me and a friend. Also nearly slipped/tripped on spilt drinks and all the rubbish people dropped on the ground from the food and drinks they had. Couldn't fault the staff at all they were great.

Great Venue close to our motel.seating is good even at the back you get a decent view. Post Malone was awesome.

Very helpful staff. No probs with view from our seats but wouldnt recommended sitting too 'side on' to the stage otherwise you'd be watching the show on big screen as view of stage is limited.

One of New Zealand's premium spots for high profile celebrities to perform! The facilities are really good and clean. They also serve food inside the Arena. Staff were a bit pushy straight after the show. Not very professional.

Mostly good, but the choice of seating on the floor area was horrendous. It was incredibly uncomfortable and meant that there was less lateral spacing between chairs than in a school auditorium. This means that you end up touching strangers which is generally what Aunty Cindy and Dr Ash suggest we shouldn't do. There should be advice about the size of the seating and suggested human size for each type of seat to avoid such displeasure.

This is a really good venue in Auckland. There are plenty of toilets and bars so there are no massive queues. Would be five stars, but the sounds system just isn't that great.

Adore large shows here! I would recommend taking public trabspto the city, having some food before the show and miss the crush of traffic on your way home.

Surprisingly more intimate than I thought it would be, although I'm told the partitions can be moved to make the concert area larger. There is parking underneath the building, but if you want that convenience,I think you'd need to book well in advance.

Recently saw Post Malone at Spark Arena. It was easy to navigate, well staffed and well organised. This is my second time at the arena and each time has been an easy, stress free visit.

As with most major venues in New Zealand, the coordination, transport, and ease of access is lacking. However, once inside, this venue provides everything required of a world class stadium.

Always loved this venue whether it's attending or coordinating events there. Friendly staff, great communication, always feel looked after.

My only complaint.. is that there were 3 separate bars in the arena and all 3 sold different drinks. I had to keep climbing up stairs to that specific bar for a rum and coke! The band Fat Freddie's drop is worth seeing live!!!

Just watched Sol3 Mio performing live here and it was EPIC! Couldn't have had a more intimate setting. Spark Arena was well set up, the space was well utilized and definitely a venue for different types of events.

Spark Arena sound quality has always been a let down. Doesn't matter where you are sitting in the stadium. Otherwise clean facility and staff experiences have always been alright.

It is a great space to experience a concert. It is good that there are the big screens to see things up close if your seats are further away. Would be good if the screens are facing to the opposite side of the arena instead of at the same side, this would make for better viewing without having to turn your head sharply when you're sitting in one of the sides.

Me and my husband both have mild-med diabilities and i bkd our seats close to the unnofficial exit and during the break and at the end 2 very compassionate security allowed us to use those exits. They didnt have to but it was extremly helpful to us. Thankyou both the young Man and young Lady who told us she is studying Programming atm. Keep them on

Went to Van Gogh exhibition. A powerful tribute to his life's work in Art. He lived and breathed it. It was quite depressing to think he died so young in a pauper's grave. His artwork lives on and has become so valuable.

Stayed at the Adina, 4 mins walk from the Arena. Enjoyed a nightout to watch Lion 🦁 King. Good flow & easy access to finding our seats, with plenty of security to assist.

Went to the Van Gogh exhibition/show. Even if you aren't wowed yet by his artistic talents, you will be after going to this event. So much more than a painting exhibition, it's a lightshow and sound extravaganza all in one. Quite mind-blowing. His paintings blown up to the size of the wall of a house, with detail expanded as well. Appreciate as never before the range of colours used to create paintings. Images even projected on to the floor, to the delight of some little kids. Not to be missed!

What a 5 Star Venue to attend any show at, we were privileged to attend the SOLE MIO SHOW after 3 cancellations die to the pandemic, Finally we were there. Very clean toilets, good open spaces in the foyers and all well arranged by the staff in attendance. Great food vendors and.no long queues to stand in to get something to eat and drink. Seating arrangements are great and where we sat upstairs, you don't have peoples heads in front of you, blocking your view. What a Brilliant show, attended by over 5000 people and I will add some short clips of the evenings singing. SOLE MIO - You are World Class Artists. Will definitely go back to see future shows at Spark Arena. Please support our Local Artists and Venues, anywhere in Aoutorea. We have World Class Artists and Venues, they need all the support we can give them.

Vector Arena was great, the Van Gogh live was awesome, however, it was well overpriced for VIPs, still waited in queues, got one glass of champagne and one corn finger food morsel. Paid $250 each, worth $80 max. Disappointing.

Been here a few times for events. Always well planned. Easy access in and out, no long queues and pushing. Lots of bars around so also not much queueing. Sound has always been great.

First time here, had trouble finding our seats, wasnt very clear on the numbering, very high up on where we were seated, best to watch your step if your getting up & moving through the isles, the seats were very uncomfortable with a squashed experience, the Lion King Musical was awesome despite the seating, ill be sure to get better seats next time, overall it was okay.

A group of us went to the Van Gogh exhibition. I think it could have been better organised so not too many people were in the "rooms" at the same time. People walking in front of us in the room of " paintings on screens" were distracting.

Close to the train and bus station for easy accessibility back home, if you want to have a drink or two. Great set-up inside, clean bathroom facilities and amazing food choices.

Auckland’s spark arena is a great spot to host games and events. It has an extremely large floor area and a nice very very high ceiling so it’s perfect for all sizes

Spark Arena is a great concert event venue with top class facilities and event staff. I've been to see many live bands here and the events have always been well organised and great sound quality. The venue is small when compared to large overseas venues and outdoor venues, however this means concerts are not weather dependent and you are closer to the performers.

Nice small arena, so almost any seat is a good view. Better in the lower loge than the last half of the floor. Upper stalls have limited legroom, so take note if you get stiff joints from not being able to stretch out. Good service, well equipped. An easy walk from most area-related accommodation, and plenty of eateries around.

The environment is very nice but the sitting facilities is very poor because it is too congested or to close and can't sit properly for too long as the legs start to go numb and painful. Hopefully the space between the raws can be widened for the betterment of the users.

Good sound quality at concerts. Good size that even in the back seats you're still close enough to what's going on. Food and drink was pricey and coke was flat. Staff were great. Parking was a distance away.

Saw the chillis here and they rocked the bajeezers off the place. Love the access to the bar and the way u pay. Also if your buying merch just wait till you get inside as all the other fools line up out front and wait for ages.

I had An excellent experience. Seats are extremely comfortable, with cushioning a welcome change to most stadium seats, which are hard and cold. (big improvement) Toilets are very clean and there are plenty, so not a long wait. (so get in line) For Spark customers you can enter early and go to the S Lounge- first in first serve. In the S Lounge you can get one free drink from the bar and free food. It's a very classy place, and there is even a live band for entertainment. You can also go outside onto the long balcony, which has lots of tables and is lovely in the Auckland climate. Would absolutely recommend, this is the best stadium I have ever been to. The view from the rooftop balcony, and our view of the stage at the exceptional Arctic Monkeys concert from our seats down the back.

If you do seating in the GA space it needs to be thoughtfully tiered with decent quality chairs - seated concerts become basically controlled standing concerts which is frustrating. The sound is always too loud would be great if this could be balanced better like a world class concert space so we don't need to claim insurance on hearing related injuries in life

Went to So Pop. Great crowd control, made everything really smooth. Sound quality wasn't as good as ice experienced at other venues, but that's not necessarily the venue's fault. Overall a pleasant positive experience. More parking for those travelling from out of town would be nice but there's not much that can be done about in a Built up CBD type area.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience their. Parking was fantastic which was at the arena park about 5min away. My tickets were prepaid and clearly stated. You can see when you arrive which entry to go to. Security check included purse or small bag Then a body metal detector. Toilet's in convenient places helpful staff members.

This arena is one of the largest for all sorts of perfomances in New Zealand. The security is excellent, yet speedy and efficient. The toilet facilities are hygienic and numerous. The beverages and food offered for purchase are a tad pricey and limited- and they do not let you bring your own alcoholic drinks into the venue. The inside arena has plenty of seated and standing options. The effects (such as graphic displays, lights, smoke, fire, etc.) Are brilliant. The security for the safety of those in the mosh pit is also commendable. I feel very safe and comfortable here. It is all wheelchair accessible and conveniently located. Transportation is made easy with the many taxis, e-scooters, nearby parking and pick-up/drop-off zones.

Seats allocated were covered up as they at the side of stage with bearly a view of the stage. Shouldn't be sold for such productions where is is lots happening on stage with very restricted view.

The staff here are great. My wife is disabled and they bent over backwards to ensure she had a good experience. The acoustics are great you can hear the music well without being deafened even with hard rock and metal! Food selection is not for the gourmet inclined but will satisfy your hunger.

I am looking in Spark Arena because I like places. All people's must follow my police laws and how smart they are. Need kept soical distance and all my carmera watching them. And let them suffer.

Attended Auckland Uni Graduation ceremony. Very average event. Been to AUT and Victoria and they do it better. BTW the "proffesional" pictures suck!

A multipurpose location for lots of events. I like to bus in then walk to the arena. If you are looking for a cab or Uber after an event. Walk into the cbd then get one, as leaving from outside can be a bit hectic

Great venue. Wasn't happy I couldn't take in a coffee I had, not because it's a security risk, but because they want you to purchase their coffee and refreshments once you're through the doors! Seats are a little tough on the bum so make sure you get up at intermission!

We saw Celine Dion who was absolutely amazing!! Entry into the venue was efficient (although the lines looked massive, they moved fast). There were lots of bar staff on, so getting food and drinks was a smooth process. Knowledgeable ushers directed us to our seats, which we found with ease. After the concert, ushers again directed us to the quickest exit. Fabulous venue with great seats (upper level to the right of the stage), awesome sound quality, didn't feel cramped. We can't wait for our next concert there!

Great! We went to the van Gogh exhibition, which was AMAZING! It must be very unPC to mention that the actual cause of Vincent's mental illness was Syphilis- it wasnt mentioned once. Unbelievable! Parking was a real problem though, eventually getting the last park in a Wilson carpark nearby. It was a converted basement that was REALLY cramped. No other choice though.

The employees manage to get people into their seats well. I was so confused as to how to read my ticket but they happily helped and it made sense once I figured it out.

Brilliant night there seeing Fleetwood Mac, all I can say is the staff were fantastic, very short lines for all services including the bar and toilets. Getting out of the venue with 12000 other people was also a painless process. Would love to go to another event there

The staff were friendly, accommodating and went the extra mile for us. There is accessible parking however it is limited so make sure you call and book.

Great arena in Auckland. Very well organized in terms of doors and seat rows. Great atmosphere for many different events I have been to. Very nice accommodation walking distance away from the venue but car parking available on nights of events, usually around $20.

Really cool and sleek building! Beautiful, natural and fresh park in front of the arena. The bar/eatery inside is nice and welcoming, delicious snacks and thirst-quenching beverages are on hand! It is, in my opinion, the best place for concerts or other events to take place.

Love the place. I have been on several occasions for concerts. Parking was provided, long wait to exit afterward. Plenty of bars in the surrounding area and food and drinks provided inside. Bit pricey but what did you expect. We were general public, standing but have had seated in the past. Great time had every time.

I went to see the Dynamo show and it was phenomenal! The way they transform the arena for a magic show is astounding, considering this venue is also used for music concerts and sporting events it's incredible. I've been here before when Disturbed came over. That was an amazing night! When I was here to see Chris Rock, I did notice the chairs where quite basic and think they need better ones.

Slow to get in past security checks because they don't open the doors until an hour before showtime. However, once inside its the best "little" arena I have been to. All seats have brilliant views and the atmosphere is very intimate for an arena.

Great venue to see your favourite concerts and events. When booking seats, choosing closer is better so if not standing then side seating is preferable. Still great sound where ever you sit.

Staff went out of their way to help me . I have a disability and am not as sure on my feet as i used to be. They gave me assistance and helped me to my seat. All staff from the entry door to the numbered entrance were friendly and smiling. Great venue for an awesome concert

The Breakers Game, Awesome day and extremely well orgainised. Staff were friendly. Very steep Arena and can be bit of a mission to find your seats if they have the lighting dimmed.

It was absolutely amazing. Good seating. Went there to see a Twenty øne piløts concert (my first concert) and the sound was incredible. I enjoyed it immensely and was not cramped by the people next to me as there was plenty of space. All in all, there were no faults to give, so it is a perfect five star for me.

Lost a start for lack of parking other than that great venue! Great show, the Kevin Hart show, loved the stage set up. Some of the staff were a bit too serious and could have smiled a bit more.

Not too bad as far as indoor concert venues go. The place is well managed to prevent big queues and there are plenty of drink and food options inside the building. Security is good and there are plenty of taxis available after events. Uber is also available.

A fabulous indoor arena. Good visibility of the stage even from the back row. The event management is excellent, cues flowed well, informative announcements are made to help aid congestion and help people in the right direction. They had free water available downstairs which is a great initiative at a large concert.

Spark Arena is what it is. A fully enclosed smallish concert venue. Due to the captive market the food and drink is over priced but at least they have. There's a carpark nearby which is pricey and takes an age to get out, but again, at least they have it. I think the sound is pretty good. I've been to several concerts here and have no complaints against the sound.

Beautiful, clean, and helpful staff. However there should be signage for separately area for bags larger than 30x30. No fun after waiting in line for half an hour, just to find out we had to go through a separate line for checked bag, then come back waiting in line Again.

Just Great.As I am disabled I was pleasantly surprised to find that the staff were very helpful. It was the first time I had been to the Arena.

Place is good, even though there were concert finishing and everyone leaving at the same time, there are still space to walk and have your own space. Crowd control is also good. When you come for concert, you can't bring backpack, only purse size bag, can't bring food or drink, since they want people to buy from their shop. but they provide drinking water and plastic cups for free.

I went to Katy Perry and food was great and no matter where you stand it's very clear to see it's very nice and the sound is very clear.

Was good but the stadium seats was very steep. Not much room for big people. It’s design for skinny people.

Awesome arena, with great facilities - always clean inside and out, and the staff are always friendly. Queues to get in/out and for food/merch generally always move quickly. The seats have decent area(s) to stand and move past other people easily. Food and drink very $$$ per the general concert standard - otherwise couldn't fault the place! Have seen several artists here now since it opened as Vector Arena, and will continue to come back. :)

Was there for Pentatonix. Good show, facilities and staff were organised well. Location seems good for access as well with cbd a walk able distance and a few bus and car options. Went pretty smoothly. Only real issue is it was quite echoey. Not sure if that's to do with the venue, the specific spot we were in or the way theat Pentatonix set things up. But, other venues I've not notice as much echo. Would definitely go for more shows.

Loved The Lion King, but seats very unc omfortable, a nd the"food" was mainly lollies!!

Staff are helpful. Venue is large with numerous entrances to seating. Pre-booked mobility parking was around the corner, next to the old train station. The lifts inside the venue are on the opposite side of the building. Then our seats were back on the side closer to where we parked. Not great, especially since lifts on that side of the venue are not open to the public. Bizarre.

Very good arena for sport, but I haven't been to a music event there. Parking is limited, better to use your ticket for free public transport - train or event bus. It's an easy 10 minute walk from Britomart / Downtown.

International level, on NZ scale. Amenities great, service and security/in house guides great. Saw fleetwood mac there, others that saw Hugh Jackman said the same. Seating up the top/sides can be quite steep for those less mobile, wouldn't hesitate to spent more on floor tickets if your really into promoted event that's on. Parking is best in parking buildings nearby, can prepay park and walk short distances to event. We went earlier than 4.00 to avoid commuter traffic, have drink & eat and walk to venue traffic out worked just as well, great night

Had a good night here at the Cat Stevens concert. My only negative is that the seat rows are too close together. Couldn't sit comfortably. I guess they have to pack everyone in like sardines to make more money. Other than that it's a great venue.

Graduation ceremony wonderful venue

Generally a clean and quiet exterior, as well as the interior. The Spark Arena is a modern style venue for entertainment events such as concerts, musicals and shows, they also have a seating capacity of 12,000. Spark Arena provides food and drinks on most occasions, has wheelchair accessible entryways as well as helpful staff.

This is a really good arena that's easy to get to and has good facilities. But the sound quality for concerts is only ok, I wish they would increase in a really good acoustic ceiling to make it a truly world class venue

Some seats are just poorly positioned but other than that pretty nice place.

Staff were argumentative instead of helpful with bagcheck. Steps in area seating not a comfort height, difficult to balance on. Food could be improved to be inclusive of more dietary restrictions. The exit after large concert very congested and time consuming until outside could freely move.

Pretty good sound for a large venue. Plus with the Spark sponsorship, it now has free wifi

Have visited a few times for concerts from out of town. It's easy to find my way around

Finding your seats is a nightmare and the staff wasn't too helpful either. Also, they charged us $5 for a large cup of water lol.

I have been to quite a few gigs here and it is always brilliant. Security are professional and other staff are always friendly and helpful. Florence and the Machine was wonderful. Sound and lighting was well done. AWESOME.

As a venue can hardly fault it. Hold a lot of people with great seeing and viewing angles. Clean and easy to get in and out of , even with huge numbers. We had a minor issue with a rude staff member, but that's an individual person.

Fantastic location for concerts and dancing on ice. Train in and train out if you want to avoid the traffic but normally traffic exits the venue freely. Book a carpark if planning on driving in! Plenty of cafe and bars around the area to enjoy a few drinks before and after the event.

A great place for an event and the views are good from most spots. Parking can be very tricky around there, but public transport is pretty good and Britomart is a short walk. When everyone leaves at the end of a show, it doesn't feel too crowded and the exits clear quickly. A lot of events are a bit expensive, but that's not all to do with the Arena.

Not the best for disability. We were told you can't get mobility seats unless you're in a wheelchair. Half of these seats were empty and we had to climb lots of stairs to our seats. I had to sit with my legs sideways to avoid hitting the person in front. Good food and drink at the Tuning Fork with excellent service. Friendly staff.

Fleetwood mac were awesome sound let them down again. Poor security during concert and I was hit by a flying object. Saw 2 people on one seat for most of concert no other empty seat near

Wonderful gig venue, bar isn't too badly priced compared to other inner city bars, right next to the train station and close enough to walk to from CBD. Plenty of space the the free flow format is my preferred seating arrangement. Staff are great too.

Nice concert venue. Fast entry and exit, given the sold out capacity. Temp and humidity gradually increased until it was too hot, maybe the A/C wasn't keeping up?.

Good seating in this venue. Their current system of the last couple of years for buying snacks and drinks is an improvement. Queues seem to move faster now. The acoustics can be very and miss, it depends on the act playing and their volume. Eg hard rock and metal can sound distorted.

Spark arena is a good venue I've been to plenty of concerts at spark arena and it's all ways a great time. The sound isn't the best though if you are seated right in the back of the venue there's a few bad spots for sound quality but if you're close to the front of stage it sounds good, the bars and toilets are easily accessible and it doesn't take to long to enter and exit shows, I like spark arena but just the sound issue so 4 stars review

The Display of Van Gogh self portraits and paintings through different periods of his life were being shown. It was magnificent

Great venue for concerts, although I find there's not really any changes in the layout other than stage up the very front (I prefer outdoor venues better, to be fair). One of the best shows I've seen here is the Cirque du Soleil Avatar production.

You showed me P!NK... I love spark arena! :) great venue.. tip! Don't pay for early entry, just get the cheaper tickets and arrive super early, don't bother with drinks and just get to the front for concerts. We were upfront of people who paid $200 more for their tickets. :) :)

Pretty good arena and nice events. Will be nice if they can create more parkings around the area.

First time visit here in my life, I am looking forward visit it again but the ticket is getting higher and higher.

Seating is super confusing and the staff weren't exceptionally helpful. No coverage for the huge lines when it's raining. Most of the shows don't have screens either so if you're towards the back you may as well just use YouTube to view the artist instead.

Everything ok except. It would be nice if the staff were a little more proactive moving the drunks out of areas where there dancing blocks others views. In there defence when asked the staff were very good.

Easy to get to, lots of choice of food and drink and felt it was very well organized. I felt that it can hold such capacity that it has the ability to put on an amazing show. Went to see Katy Perry and wow amazing!

Ok for its size. Steps a bit too small when descending. Seats a bit small compared to other arenas I have attended.

Awesome venue only little thing is if there were lights on the steps (like at movies) to see the row letters. Easy to get into the stadium and great show put on.

I went there for the Festival X Rising 2019. Facilites are awesome. Sound is loud and vibrant. The Spark Lounge is a great plus, they really make you feel great.

Apart from no parking nearby and expensive food its great to have a place for big artists to play at and in the city center and have had some great concerts there and nice seats.

Very hard to find car park. Spent 30 minutes finding a car park and walking back to Spark Arena. Premises are good.

Was fantastic show. Went to see star wars a new hope in concert spark. The only negative was that the seats are very uncomfortable. My husband and I had sore lower backs after sitting on them!

Good Arena, free wifi. Staff are friendly and accommodating. But strict if you don't follow the rules. If you are a lady, it would be convenient to carry a small bag instead of a big one cause big bags aren't allowed inside.

Great venue for a large audience. Sound system was awesome.

Surprisingly good. Very efficient exit procedure. Zero rock n roll vibe and the sterile airport atmosphere is a bit of a buzzkill but I can trust I won't die in a fire there so it gets the full 5 stars.

Saw the UFC here once, pretty delighted as the awesome New Zealander one and I got a selfie with Bruce Buffer and Israel Adesanya

One of the best medium sized concert places in NZ. The staff get you in smoothly, it's not a concrete box, and if you're a Spark customer there is even an 'exclusive' area with free food. All in all, a most excellent venue.

Good venue, tidy, clean, safe, large enough. Good seating and good spacing. Good acoustics went there for a few concerts and basketball games.

Ok given our purpose was to watch the 'Chillies tribute' band (loved them) who performed at the Tuning Fork

Could make the spaces to walk through to your seats bigger. You almost fall on every one walking down. Also lighting on the stairs so u can see where ur walking would be good. And more toilets cos when everyone comes out of an event they all line up for the toilet

Very large, well kept venue, and easy to get to. Parking is a difficult option and the food is usually very basic (hot chips etc). Overall a very good option for concerts.

Plenty of staff in the events that I've been to. Heaps of toilets. A lot of signage so you don't get lost.

Spark Arena is a great place to watch sports and artists. The seats are basic but comfy to watch the act you are seeing. The food is howeever expensive but is competively priced compared to all the other arenas.

Staff helpful when ticket app didnt work. Welcomed with "good morning " by staff. Helpful staff with directions. Smiling faces.🙂

Had two amazing experiences recently - Crowded House and Van Gogh Alive - wonderful!

Super impressed with entry and really fast exit. Acoustics were great. Seating perfect with great views of the stage. Really easy to get drinks etc.

A good venue to watch sports or a concert. Clean establishment and ok food prices. The door checks take a while so plan extra time to get through them. The security were friendly though which makes it better.

Was here for the UFC fights, great arena with no bad seats. We had easy access to toilets and for and beverages. Best day!

EQ on concerts is poor. Massive low end with hardly any mids. Have been disappointed both times I've been there for concerts

Lovely big arena, great for concerts, and has a smaller side bar for local gigs. Only downside is they don't have any dedicated parking, but there are lots of paid parking buildings nearby.

A great venue for events. Very clean and tidy and the pricing on drinks and food is normal for these types of places. Plenty of bathrooms. Would recommend walking from cbd sonifnstaykngviutbofntiwn just grab a train or bus. We walked from sky city no problem

Such a good venue for concerts. Have been to 15 to 20 at this venue. Sound generally really good, easy to grab a drink etc.

The seats are terrible. The edges reduce blood circulation. Larger bottomed patrons impinge even further. Next time I'll have to book an extra seat so I can sit comfortably to enjoy my $160 seat for the whole show. The show itself was 5/5. (Edit: someone paraphrased my submission!)

Ok, concert was good, but bloody stadium disorganized with the service prior to start, and very surprised that the bar remained open throughout the show, allowing concert goers to come and go disrupting others who were there to enjoy the show.

Pretty cool venue that caters many different types of events. ticketing is good and food is good. One thing to note is there aren't many entrances, so if it's a busy event make sure to arrive early.

Roger Waters concert was fantastic however this is the 1st VIP event I have been to where there was no exclusive VIP merchant or food and drink stations which sort of took the shine off the evening as there where very long queues and for merchandise and only 2 people serving.

Seating in tiers which are very steep but there are handrails in most places. If your knees are playing up it will be challenging. Almost nothing for the gluten free in the food stalls when I went. The entry was well handled though I was taken aback to be body scanned before being allowed in.

Was told we could refill water bottles on way in but then told after by another person we couldn't take our bottles in... Apart from that was great... Loved the place and the ambience was the best... Nice stadium and great acoustics

Went to see Billie eilish and it was very very fun!! Can’t wait for her next tour.

Seats are not that comfortable for long periods especially for a show that's like 2 hours long.

More consideration for patron parking is needed . Atleast give patrons an idea where parking is, some sort of guide would be great.

Love for Music. I'm here often Great place for events. Shame about the cleaners who 10minutes after the show ended would not let me have a toilet stop before I left the Spark Arena .Not very impressed!

Great being able to see good acts but depending where you are the sound can be a bit dodge but that's what you get with arenas. The sound people are always great and it's amazing getting to see artists I never thought I would see.

There were some delays getting in, but the staff communicated this well. The lack of rain cover when lining up was worrying. Luckily it was a very light shower. The sound for the show was amazing, really fills your whole body.

I like how the food and drinks are self service, saved me waiting in a line, condements also self service so i could have as much sauce as i wanted, was at a concert and wasnt over heated, seats have good spacing, very comfortable and lots of parking within walking distance

VanGogh great need sign stating immersive display as head into darkness, know folk who missed huge displays as only an Exit sign, and they left by the entry so missed the exciting huge. display

Nice facilities. For out-of-towners, if you have secured accommodation in the city to attend an event here it makes the experience much more enjoyable as parking and access in and out of the arena can be both stressful, time-consuming and problematic.

The Arena is perfect for attending International Concerts. The seating, the atmosphere, the lighting and the food, everything is great there. Tickets are for some concerts, a little too expensive but I think the wonderful experience is worth it

Enjoyed the Van Gogh exhibition. Easy to get to venue using public transport.

A great facility with easy access to all the entrances/exits. Very helpful hosts.

Van Gogh alive hmmm only thing that was alive was my Wallet at the cost of it. Plenty of pretty woman though.

Great staff, willing to help out when if you get lost! Simple layout makes it hard for that to happen. Big enough for a mass of people without feeling too overcrowded. Only thing missing is a good car park (though this is understandable as it is right near the cbd.

Good venue, good seating. The seats cast upward (like a theater) so that the person sitting in front of you is not in your way. Back checks available.

Not that great. No cell phones allowed, so how do you find you seat when the lights go out! Heaps of people backed up in the aisles trying to find there seats. Staff need to have torches, it was s shambles. And people need to get to their seats on time too. Perhaps a small announcement saying show starts in 5 minutes please take you seat?

Good venue but I don't rate the sound quality for musical acts. Service at intervals is pretty good. Free water. Lots of toilets.
