Specsavers have now moved to the ground floor in Queensgate Shopping Centre and the place looks so clean and amazing. Layout: Specsavers has changed the layout to be way more private for those who are paying for the glasses or having talks with the staff. You first walk in and you are greeted to a more wide open area to look at and tryout glasses. Then the second area is where you speak to the staff and pay for products, this area is around the corner in the back to be more private and more quite. Then there are closed off rooms for the testing that you can have done, while also a being small the rooms branching off in different directions to make it less cluttered. Vibe: The front of the store is nicely lit up with enough light to see where you are in the store, the light behind the glasses draws you towards the displayed glasses and encourages you to try some out. The floor is a nice bamboo wood floor that gets ever so slightly lit up with the lights from the displays. The store uses their logos color theme of white and dark green, they use white on most of the walls but they will use a dark green every now and then to break up the bland walls. Staff Interaction: The staff are really nice and welcoming, if you ever need to ask a question about something feel free to ask as they are there to help you out on any questions you have. When you are paying for products you are guided to either sit at a desk in the back around the corner or if there are none available they guide you to some waiting chairs to sit in. My Interaction: Sharon was the person I was with for picking up the new glasses and testing if they fitted correctly. She is the nicest person ever, she had some questions on how the review system worked as she was curious and she openly listened to what I had to say. When I asked questions she had the knowledge I needed and when she asked questions I answered in the best way I could too. In my opinion she is a very nice person and she is very welcoming to learning new things the customer has to say. I'd say she is one of few people who will listen to me go on and on about something with out beginning to ignore me or try wrap things up to get pasted the subject. -Aaron Austin

The service here is wonderful! Jacinda was the optometrist who did my eye exam and was so helpful, took her time and actually listened to what I needed. On collection, Sharon was nothing but bubbly, positive, and had superb customer service. Also totally gassed me up and left me feeling really cute in my glasses! I went into the Lower Hutt store today hoping to fix my glasses which are new (about a month old) and I’ve already bent them well out of shape! I was assisted by Sharon, and she was such a delight to deal with! She spent ages adjusting my glasses so they sat properly on my face again, and went well over and above to make sure I was happy with them. She gave me a gorgeous new case to keep them more safe, and it was all complimentary. I will definitely be coming back as the service was standout. Sharon even took the extra time to look up my purchase date as she was concerned there may be a fault with my glasses (why they might have bent so soon- but I think this is more likely my fault!) and promised that should I need to come back, she would replace them. Hard to beat service like that, plus done all with a smile :) thank you!!

Sharon was absolutely wonderful!!! Had my eye check done today and then needed frames.. I had no idea of what I liked. She went the extra mile and I found frames that I loved! Highly recommended as everyone that I dealt with today, were absolute gems. Great people with lots of knowledge and they were lovely!!!

I had a generally positive experience. The store was running 20 minutes late with their appointments in the morning so we weren't able to finish my appointment, I'll need to go back to finish it another day. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I was having trouble fitting my contacts and they went out of their way to make sure I was eventually able to.

Always easy to reach, resolve issue if any with Sharon from Specsavers Lower Hutt Queensgate. Progressive glass have been made to perfection based on Sharon specification. Many friends are uncomfortable with progressive glass but for me it is normal vision from day one. Awesome experience. Thank you Sharon and Specsavers.

The assistant is so kind and nice. She gave me many useful options and she explained lots of information which I have no idea for goods. Then she selected frame for me which way is more match my situation. It’s so helpful for me. I have strong good mood with her. Very patient throughout.

I had a problem with some glasses where the coating started breaking down after about 12 months. Went in and asked wether it was fixable and to my surprise without any fuss I was provided a complete replacement. Yes I can get glasses cheaper elsewhere but they are not backed by this sort of service. Very happy customer.

New spot downstairs in the Queesgate mall. Much larger and improved layout for customers and staff. Had great service when collecting my new glasses. Attentive staff who took about 20 minutes with me making sure I was happy with my new progressive glasses and how they worked. Thanks team

This is the only place I go for glasses, good prices at the moment there is a deal on choose any 2 pairs of glasses for $399. Any rang any price, you could choose two for $399 and instead of paying $600 you will pay $399. Not bad 😃

I was welcomed by friendly staff that helped me to solve my eye problem. I was happy with the selection of glasses that were both very affordable and looked great. The staff also took some measurements to be sure that the glasses would fit properly on my face. The optometrist was very competent and professional. She listened to the problem I had with my eyes and she was able to solve it. I now drive more confidently with my new pair of glasses. I definitively recommend the Lower Hutt store and I'll definitively go back for my future routine eye checks.

Good experience getting mine and my sons eye checked and glasses, his fitting a week earlier went well, mine we arrived 20 mins early and egen though there were optometrists sitting in there boiths, 1 on his phone, was told that i was too early and have to come back, came back few mins before my scheduled appointment and there was 1 optometrist in a booth and i was sent further down then had to wait 10mins for someone to come fit me. We were the only people thereexcept for the testing room. Pretty annoying.

Dwayne from Spec Savers Lower Hutt was absolutely amazing. It was the most fun I've ever had shopping for glasses.

I had used a prescription from another optometrist. The resultant lenses were not workable. Specsavers performed another test and remade the lenses at no additional cost. All staff were very helpful achieving a good outcome. Sharon and the chap who did the initial consultation were very helpful and made a distressing situation OK.

Excellent, professional friendly service. I was impressed. The luck of a cancellation meant I was able to get an eye test, choose and get fitted and advised straight away. Amazing service. Have been several times recently as needed more than one pair of specs and had interaction with more than one staff member - all fab. Sharon in particular stands out - she ensured I had a good selection and then spent time as I tried them all on and gave experienced feedback on 'the look' that suited my face and my lifestyle. Highly recommended. Fitted and ordered at Lower Hutt, collected in Masterton one time and then Rotorua another - so very flexible.

Very relaxing, the examination was very thorough. There were lovely frames to choose from. Also a selection of bells and whistles you can select for your preference of lens. When I picked up my glasses, they were carefully adjusted to fit my face. A lady called Irene was great, told me what to expect for the first few days while I was getting used to them. She even made sure none of the arms made my ears stick out. I am happy knowing I can return with any problems or questions.

In November 2019, it was my first time using Specsavers Optometrist Lower Hutt branch - I was amazed and so grateful with their customer services. I got all what I wanted! Today, one of the arms of my glass comes off as its small screw is broken and has to be fixed it immediately with our QUALITY GUARANTEE. I rang them and they said to bring it over so they can fix it. I ll tell you the outcome tomorrow. ______________________________________ Wow! What a service! Absolutely amazing! I didn't check my waiting time but felt it took only about 2 minutes to fix my glass. I can't tell the difference whether or not I'm having a new glass. They didn't ask for anything so I got my glass fixed free of charge. Yay! What a feeling!

I don't write reviews normally but I was impressed by the service here.at my eye test recently and all the equipment and new technology was amazing. The staff were very helpful. I got a lot of information on eye disease and Glaucoma testing . There was a good selection of glasses although I couldnt find Gucci frames, ended up with frames I like. I would certainly be coming back. Just had my 2 year follow up test . The technology for eye testing available here is amazing . The optometrist showed me lot of new scans . My five star review still stands .

I found them excellent. They gave me a free eye test with my AA card, and I bought a pair of reading glasses. I don't agree with others who say they are pushy - the salesperson actually showed me the cheapest ones first and let me choose what I wanted. I'll buy a second pair in a few months.

Supposedly looking for OPMS (can't seem to find the shop) till a family member who was with me said there's also a specsaver here. Glad I did as this nice young gentleman Liam came over n served me with a smile n I told him what I needed with my broken frame. He explained that they dont have the facility to do it here n that was it... I understood straight away as I got a rather bad attitude service experience with OPMS up in Akld with my inquiry. Liam was easy to talk to n listened to your needs yet professional. He has a great customer attitude n respectful @ his young age I must say 🙃. Thanx u.

I had great customer service both setting up my appointment and during my pre-appointment checks. My optometrist was Jacob Hong, who was friendly and helpful and explained everything well. My prescription hasn't changed since my last appointment and there was no pressure to buy new ones. I bought my current glasses in 2014 and they still fit comfortably and I've never had any issues with them.

Best staff with great deal!

I held of this review until I picked up my glasses 2 weeks after the eye examination. I found the staff to be friendly and professional throughout the examination process and fitting stage. These were purchased to replace damaged glasses due to my sports. The 2 for 1 is ideal, 1 for sports, 1 for normal wear. The gruelling part is choosing which frame. They let you know the day before when you need to come in via messaging and I'm expecting another message in 2 years time when they suggest I need a new eye examination. Totally happy with the purchase, I see far more clearly than before which suggests I should have gotten an examination earlier. Great value!

Specsavers in lower hutt are really helpful. The optometrists knew there stuff and showed me photos of the baof my eye. The staff helped me find the right frames for my face. I take forever to make up my mind, but they are really patient. They remember me when I go back in again too. They are also half the price of other optometrists.

After reading all of these reviews it slightly put me off using Specsavers but I went there anyway because Specsavers have been the only place I’ve used in the past with no issues but out of Wellington. I also wanted to use them because I get free eye exams through my health insurance through my work. Queensgate Lower Hutt Specsavers is also the closest Specsavers store to me. I had nothing but a great experience with this store today. I was served by Kate the optometrist and Warren at the counter. Kate was friendly, understanding and thorough. The appt went for over 40mins so it was just a quick in and out it was a thorough appt. I was very happy with the customer service received and I’m happy to return to the Lower Hutt store in the future.
