T.The staff are absolutely amazing!!! It was a bit of a mish to even get my glasses but the staff were incredible throughout the whole ordeal and kept me updated every step of the way. They were super apologetic even though everything that happened was far beyond their control and went above and beyond to make sure everything worked out. The eye exam itself was super easy and although I did find out there was more things wrong with my eyes, the optometrist explained things thoroughly and super clearly for me. Overall amazing experience and one of the best team of staff I have ever come across ❤
B.I came here a couple weeks ago for my very first eye test, i was extremely happy with the process and how easy it was to book. the optometrist lass was so nice and friendly, she explained everything super well, the retail assistant was really honest and helpful when it came to choosing some specs! everyone knew their stuff in there and it’s such a cool environment! 12/10 guys!

Worth the wait as the aftercare experience was amazing, she shaped the arms of my sunglasses so they didn’t fall of my face, and then bend the arms of my BN glasses I was wearing as she could see there was room for improvement! This care and thoughtfulness means I’ll be back for another pair in the future.

j.Had a very good experience with Bailey Nelson. My appointment was same week, all with half hour and my new progressive glasses were ready within a week which was a nice surprise as I was advised it’s usually 2 weeks. Lovely helpful and friendly staff. I’ll be returning soon for my next set.
M.It was simple and a lot less complicated than any other optician i have seen. The cost was 1200 dollars cheaper than my local one. Well worth travelling on from levin. Thanks to all the staff. So kind and caring. I have had so many rude opticians in the 60 years I have had glasses.
M.I was seen by Yvonne and she was wonderful! Explained things really well and gave me good informed options for my eye care. They even put my insurance claim through for me, so it was a really easy and great experience overall.
T.Came back to Bailey Nelson because of bad experience else where. Yvonne was very patient in listening to my concerns and responded promptly to my feeling of having too much power in my glasses. She lowered the prescription and let me trial it. So far so good! Yvonne also recommended that I request a refund with the other provider. I wouldn’t have attempted this and gotten all my money back if it wasn’t for Yvonne’s suggestion. Thank you and to the rest of the team for helping me! 😊

If they can match d same price, I’ll go ahead with baileys. Or never mind.

R.Bella on the front desk was so accomodating due to optometrist being away sick. She made the situation better and even got me in a little earlier which worked well for my schedule. When I visited the team were very attentive and ever so helpful. I had a locum Alethea (I think that’s how you spell it) and honestly I want her every-time I go there. She is not only young and funny and easy to chat to she was so professional and easy to ask questions and advise what’s been going on. I’m so happy she was there. She recommended to me extra products not just for the sake of it but for my own eye journey over the next few years and advised the importance of these for my next steps super clear instructions which I’ve been following to a tee!! Appreciate it team and I’ll be back in no time and recommending you to everyone I know who needs to get their eyes checked or updated.
T.Genuine and welcoming customer service from all the staff I have dealt with. I came here after seeing a friend's frames that I liked. Have been going here for the last 3 years. In that time I have seen 2 different Optometrists and both were great at talking with me about my eye health in a way that I could understand. Highly recommend!
J.I found the experience too public snd rushed as i was not taken aside into a quiet thoughtful space but surrounded by people and employees milling about. Consequently the handover was rushed snd my glasses are too tight and painful behind my ears. Though staff are very pleasant the young lady should have had the training and expertise to check this issue or handed me to someone who is familiar with comfort and fit. To return to town for adjusting glasses is a huge undertaking at my age. Also some gesture acknowledging the customer snd expense entailed like a small amount of cleaning product would make me feel the huge cost snd business is valued. These are factors which do not encourage me to return. However the initial test process was fine and professionally handled.
This earlier review scarcely signifies as my visit on Thursday March 31 was stunning. No issues. Nicki, the receptionist is a gem. She remembered me and was actually really helpful last time in choosing the perfect frames for me. Because of her i returned snd even though i had my little dog with me, i was warmly welcomed. Tanisha who carried out my examination was also totally inspiring. She’s professional, efficient and kind. And she gave me confidence and good advice. I am extremely happy with this business. Finally, the new location and fit out is lovely, so no issues for customers needing privacy.

The selection of frame styles has a good balance of both contemporary fashion and classic, timeless styles and their prices are really competitive and great value for money. The store could probably use another mirror or two but the layout is nice.
F.We called into Bailey Nelson in Willis St Wellington, talked with the friendly staff there and checked out the frames. I found a suitable frame and once Bailey Nelson had my prescription they contacted me within 2 weeks to say my glasses were ready to pick up. The price was excellent and I'm delighted with my new glasses.

C.Have been back to Bailey Nelson twice now and absolutely love it. Professional, quick, optical assistants aren't too pushy when choosing glasses. BN are as cheap as Specsavers but have the quality and premium look of OPSM. So happy with my experience and the glasses I now have, which only took 1 week to be made. Will definitely be back in a couple years when I need to update my prescription 👍🏻

S.Great experience in store. However waited two weeks and hadn’t heard anything back in regards to my glasses arriving for pick up so I had to follow up myself, turns out they put my wrong number in on their side? Besides that, great glasses and nice customer service.

Anyway the optician at BN squeezed me in for a very quick and free check against the other clinics refraction findings, staff could not have been more helpful. Honestly great experience. Only 4 stars as the frame quality isn't amazing, but they do have a good selection.

Updating to say I was anticipating (and fine with, under the circumstances) a post-lockdown delay on my glasses but they arrived the first day of level two and picking them up was a breeze. I've been enthusiastically recommending BN to friends and coworkers; just a great, easy experience with really friendly helpful staff. Give everybody a raise.
E.I visited this store for an eye test - which was held very professionally. She seemed very knowledgeable and was so thorough. I’ve been asked to come back in for another type of test, I feel like I’m good hands! I got help from Emelye on picking out some glasses, I found a frame I liked and when they didn’t quite suit me, she was straight at it trying to find a similar style but different shape. We found the pair I wanted super quick! Emelye was great 😊. Communication was great regarding the wait and delivery of my glasses too. Very happy with my visit! Would highly recommend

P.The last pair of glasses I got was about $1600 for the frames and lenses. Mostly the lenses as they were progressive and - as a result - costly.
When they broke I visited Bailey Nelson. They did a comprehensive eye test/examination - helped select frames and provided excellent service and advice.
A week later I had TWO pairs of glasses for less than half the price of my previous pair.
100% recommended.

I made a booking for an eye exam, on the day I was rung and advised that unfortunately the optometrist had had to go home. I therefore rebooked and went on waiting list for any cancelation.

A.Great staff! Very patient and friendly as I tried frame after frame. But received a call a few days later to say one pair of new glasses (I bought two) had been incorrectly ordered. No big deal I said, just let me know when the first pair arrives. Then the first pair arrives - very pleased. Until I go to take them off about an hour later and the right arm detaches. It wasn’t the little screw - rather the construction of the joint itself. Still, I know a few people very satisfied with their glasses from Bailey Nelson and expect there will be little fuss putting it right. Just a bumpy ride to date.

When i came to the store to collect my specs the labelling was not right (different specs under my name) and also she was concerned if I would get head ace with BLF on single vision. She asked some time to fix it. Gave me a call when it was all sorted. Waited for me a few minutes after the store closed. Apologised for the mistake even though it wasn’t her mistake.

A.The optometrist Frances listened to my needs instead of just going through a checklist of procedures. I had a poor experience with another place and got a pair of glasses that do not work for me. I now finally have a pair that works. The rest of the shop staff were also helpful and helped pick out frames that suit me. Overall very good. I would be recommending family and friends to come here.

G.This was a repeat visit for another pair of prescription glasses. I was made to feel very welcome in store. My selection of frame and lens options was handled in a very helpful and efficient way. This is definitely my favourite place to go for glasses.

UPDATE....shortly after writing this, I got a call from Bailey Nelson to discuss the situation. They asked me back in to check my glasses. Result is new glasses are being made. Good follow up Bailey Nelson!!! That is what I call good after sales care. Thank you!!

M.People are kind and competent here. My glasses were in need of a fix and this was done with a smile and no charge. Meanwhile the optometrist was checking my eyes and my vision. It's good to have this done regularly. I go every year.
L.I put off getting new glasses for almost two years due to the hassle of testing, fitting and retesting, then having to settle with lenses that just aren't quite right.
At Bailey Nelson, I experienced the most satisfyingly comprehensive and accurate eye test I've ever had, and my lenses are near perfect!

A.Wonderful wonderful experience everytime. I have reffered no of my friends to your place . I have been seeing Mark since 90,s. An absolute gem of a person . For the last 2 to 3 years have been dealing with Kim on the reception . Very courteous and professional. Great to deal with her .
The only dissapointing fact is that you dont fit glasses into personal frames and that is not fair . If there is a fear of breaking the frame then you you can get a written consent from the customer . I have now collected almost 30 ,all very expensive frames but can't use those as you dont fit the lenses and inspite of that because of the service I get ,we keep coming and keep referring our friends .
I hope that can be given a thought .
