Reviews of Air New Zealand Auckland Airport Regional Lounge
T.
Bottled water would be nice to have available, also diet tonic water. Very friendly, spotless, great environment and a relaxing space to be in.
A.
Worth getting to the airport early to fully enjoy the quiet, food and coffee. Great way to start the trip.
J.
Tend to be busting at the seams. I have been to other lounges around the world that have restricted areas.. I do suggest that if it had a Gold Elite area this could ensure that their most valued customers actually feel valued. The amount of people that have access to the lounges is very high compared to not too many years ago. Staff generally are excellent. Cleanliness is of the highest standard. Food and beverage selection is pretty good.
d.
Hanging out in the lounge, very friendly staff and great coffee machine! The food was good as well. As a United Club member, I was so happy to have access to this oasis whilst waiting for my flight to Nelson. Thank you Air New Zealand! Well done.
G.
Noice! Lovely lounge after upgrade, staffed with very friendly people. Food is good - similar to other NZA lounges - and coffee is great!
C.
In the current covid environment, Air NZ has not skimped on customer service in the lounge. Friendly, attentive staff and clean facilities. Food was fresh and delicious, and included keto and gluten-free options. No kids area in the regional lounge unfortunately, but big windows for plane viewing is a hit. Well worth a stop.
S.
First visit since the upgrade and well worth it. MUCH better than the old one downstairs. Plenty of space and good selection of food.
P.
Went into the new regional lounge 4 days after it opened. Compared to the old regional lounge it is vast. The old lounge did get busy and it was often better to go through security and use the domestic lounge....that has changed. Views are stunning, better than the domestic lounge, and it is way larger. Staff were excellent, really clean and tidy. Food was great, and altogether a really enjoyable experience. This has moved the regional lounge to a whole new level
G.
Small regional lounge that is not very cozy. It does contain some snack and they do offer wine, beer and soft drinks. The espresso was excellent in my opinion. But the lounge is rather small and has no windows and it was crowded when I stopped by. There was also constant boarding announcements. But having said that, it was better to wait in the lounge as the terminal itself was packed with people that were waiting for the domestic flights. So maybe it is time to expand this terminal a bit.
J.
Great flat white and just what you need after a long flight before a short hop south. Worth looking at cleaning door handles and other high touch areas these days rather than just the table top. Also review handing out sweets from a communal basket these days 👍
T.
Pros: close to regional flight departure gates, the awesome service from Air NZ staff & barista coffee of good quality.
Cons: The regional lounge is in need of significantly more space. Crammed seating and limited food options. Don't expect hot meal options - but the snacks and slices are good.
Note: This lounge is scheduled for a significant rebuild soon. Until then, a solid 3 stars.
D.
A great little lounge to pass your waiting time. Great choice of beers and wines. Friendly staff who go out of their way to look after you. Mostly quiet when we have been there. Worth a visit.
J.
Friendly place in the rain on a wet winter day
It is in the process of refurhbishment. The views have gone so thank goodness for the nice Pohutukawa tree photo.
Also lacks toilets so go before you get there at the public toilets opposite the bag drop.
Enough food to give you the feel of a meal but not as varied or plentiful as the large city flyers get in the other lounge.
Staff are pleasant, coffee Is hot and travellers to the regions are an interesting lot. Small cheers went up when planes started to take off.
B.
The domestic lounge could easily be 3-4 times larger given the foot traffic it sees. The lounge was standing room only with a line waiting to access when we arrived. Despite this it was still a much appreciated oasis from the chaos of the departure seating area.
C.
In the middle of alterations and a big expansion but still good to escape the mayhem of the crowds with delayed flights in school holiday time, and the food was fresh and appealing. Look forward to seeing it completed.
R.
Staff always great, food and drink great, too small for more than 2 stars really, Air NZ and staff make extra one. Stuck in the airport for 3hrs recently with numerous plane delays. Need a lounge 5x as big.
J.
It's ok for a short wait and grabbing a coffee but there is very limited seating hence often crowded; limited food (no kitchen) and no windows. I understand that it is currently undergoing a renovation and extension.
I.
The dying age of the Auckland Regional Lounge.
Food is simple with a small but high quality selection. The Barista made coffee is a plus.
It was relatively quiet on Saturday afternoon when I was there which is a polar contrast to most other times.
Looking forward to the larger lounge opening later in the year.
D.
The Koru Lounge is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustled the main terminal. Super handy if you have business to attend to while waiting for your flight. The food and beverages are alway good. Great staff also.
S.
Very busy with a backlog of delayed flights. Had standing room only for a while. Made friends and table room over a few glasses of rose. Handy to gate but not to bathrooms
M.
Admittedly at times the Air NZ lounges can be very crowded. It's the result of their success I suppose. It's always a great place to get a bite to eat, have a drink at the end of a long day, or have a coffee in a nice setting. There are also power outlets for laptops and charging stations for mobile devices. WiFi is free. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. For example just ask if they ran out of your favorite food to find out if they have more. The lounges are typically after security and close to the departure gates. Be aware that currently the domestic terminal has two Air NZ lounges. Pick the one that is closer to your gate. If you travel frequently you may want to consider paying for a Koru membership. It gives you access for yourself plus one guest for one year.
M.
First time in a regional lounge (Auckland) was a little small with no Windows or natural light food options were also small not a lot for diabetic .I would of given it 3 stars (very average) If it wasn't for the happy ,friendly staff and a great coffee.
Which was worth the 4 stars given
E.
We used Air Nz Park and Ride, but there is plenty of room for drop off and plenty of pay parking. Check in Kiosks are available and easy to use. Food and beverages available. Comfortable and well organised. Clean and spacious.
G.
Very busy, hard to find seating. Decent enough food and beverages. Tidy and comfortably furnished. Staff always friendly.
A.
Crowded and noisy. TV dominates each lounge room. Lavatories at a fair distance, outside the facility. But excellent service from the staff.
G.
Small but adjacent to the regional departure gates. Can be crowded so if you have a long wait it can be worth going through security to the main lounge for more comfort.
M.
A bright comfortable spot.
K.
Good little lounge, but can get very crowded at peak times, and be aware that there is a very limited menu available ie no hot food etc. I believe they are in the process of building a bigger one though, which will be a huge improvement.
r.
An absolute dump.totally inadequate.catering cannot cope.seating a lottery. Also the inability of being able to print the gate on your ticket is a real time waster
D.
Nice layout. Good enough selection of food nicely presented. Comfortable seating.
K.
Not enough seating for Friday night traveling. Serving area very small. Food very nice and service good.
A.
Had the pleasure of enjoying a good time at the Air NZ Lounge on both ends of a work day trip AKL-PMR-AKL. Exceptional service in Auckland and Palmy and a lavish spread of treats and preflight refreshments. An enjoyable experience which makes the work tripmore than bau😉
B.
More power points are needed, not just along the back wall with uncomfortable stools to sit on.
The sound system was heard to hear.
C.
Great place to relax and refule before your flight.
J.
Very full with flight delays. No bathrooms in the lounge. They r doing upgrades so looking forward to the new loune
j.
Extremely crowded after a few flight delays the day we were there. No bathroom facility in the lounge, you have to go back into the terminal.
R.
The regional lounge is always a good spot.. it'd be nice if the food selection was a little broader. Staff are always excellent.
A.
Great service, coffee good, just not enough space, can't wait for the new lounge to be completed
m.
All good all nice excellent
A.
Currently undergoing renovations so limited very space. Great batista coffee and a small selection of food.
A.
Lounges are always clean and welcome retreat. Many starting to get extremely busy due to space.
I.
Modern and spacious lounge with great views out over the airfield.
B.
One of the nicer regional lounges, always seems to be enough room. Food same as other AirNZ lounges. Good staff.
R.
Could do with a long overdue revamp
Some comfy chairs would not go a miss.
D.
Small, narrow, but offers all the usual food and drink service. You gave to go back into the terminal to use the toilet
J.
A little overcrowded but great otherwise. Looking forward to the opening of the new regional lounge
N.
Pretty disappointing to be refused because they were too full.
Was redirected back to main lounge, via security. Time waster and simply annoying.
a.
Nice place for a beer and a snack before flying. Can be busy at peak times
B.

P.

D.
Great place too wait around for my flight. Free wi fi kept me out of trouble.
S.
Food could be better, and it's too small. But air NZ have already started fixing those things
J.
Bit small - gets crowded quickly & needs toilet facilities inside the lounge.
T.
Needs better toilets not clean and a healthier food selection
p.
Great coffee and good array of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages good food too
P.
Always friendly and welcoming. Food is good and drinks are wet.
S.
Very near terminals and not as crowded as main Koru lounge. Good selection of food and beverages.
E.
Staff are always helpful, food and beverage selections always fresh .
N.
Excellent service as usual. A bit cramped but the new construction should solve that issue.
J.
Good coffee while we waited for Harry and Meagan to depart so we could!
A.
While it has the essentials, for the number of people who fly out from Auckland to the smaller regions, it probably needs a bigger space.
D.
Good comfortable seating. Free wi-fi. Good coffee
R.
