J.Great experience, we had the day bed seating right up the front and in the middle I thought my neck would get a bit sore but it ended up being perfectly fine and the little 5yr old loved it.. toilets out the front where clean and tidy. Person on the front entrance checking passes and the game room is open for the kids.. parking out the front and all in all a good place to go and watch a movie..
K.First time in years going back here, places is very modern and in great condition, we used a cinema with the new reclining seats and they were very comfy. The arcade in the foyer has lots of driving, shooting games along with air hockey and a really large screen with classic games like Pac man and Galaga! Very cool.
F.The cinema is not as full as it used to be before covid times. It is great to go in day time as there is no crowd. You might even find yourself to be the only one in the session which is quite cool I guess. Recliner cinemas is very comfortable, you just have to pay a little more than the original price but it is worth it! Arcade on site. They have their own card system where you can top up the amount you wish to play for and then just tap it at the machine to activate it.
R.This is my local, since they upgraded it's definitely nicer comfier seats then what you get at Westcity, still the price is really expensive, I know of lots of people that travel to Westcity for the cheaper tickets, this cinema is good when you don't like going when the movies are packed to the max, in that case then Westgate is a good option. I can get good copies of all movies that come out in cinemas a week after just saying. I only ever bring the kids for a random treat once in a blue moon.
J.Update Oct2019: They have upgraded the cinemas with new seats etc, this also resulted in overall ticket price increase to $15!!!.... $10 per ticket no longer available. Still good service and ample parking spaces. You c an always get a ticket even if arriving late. Time Zone game centre is of good values and game varieties.

Great values, good services. $10 per ticket per individual, ample parking out front. Plenty cafe and places to eat nearby. First session in the morning are often less crowded.
M.$50 for 2 tickets with regular coke and popcorn. Quality movie experience though. Good sound system and clean theatre.
P.Great place to catch a movie. I was here with 2 of my not so tiny tots. They had good fun watching the movie and playing in the timeout area. Tickets are $10 each which is cheapest but also what the standard needs to be. We watched avengers end game and while the facilities are old, they are not terrible by any stretch of the imagination. Quite the opposite. Great place and keeps up with the newer and more modern event cinemas.
s.Excellent cinema experience always. The staff is very nice and friendly. There is so much parking around and the best part is $10 movie tickets. The screens are decent size and the seating in comfortable. Its usually not too crowded and quiet easy to get tickets. Highly recommended.

S.Have been a few times here. They are trying hard to attract more people into the cinemas. Don't think about using your voucher here, why because their price will beat your voucher price. You can see 2D movies for $10 except Bollywood and other Indian regional movies. The cinemas are clean and the seats are very comfy.
C.Since they did the place up it's such a nice cinema and the new seats are super comfortable. I highly recommend going recliner if you have the chance. The arcade section is pretty decent too. The only thing keeping it at 4 stars is the fact they don't allow you to take in outside products (if they see it). Which makes the movies an expensive outing. The popcorn is also oversalted, used to be much better. The new drink options are pretty good though but more sugar free options would be appreciated.
D.Staff & service are the best in West Auckland, maybe even Auckland City all together...... Definitely our families preferred favourite theatre, always clean and tidy. See you soon Westgate... Your worth paying the extra dollars for.
d.Great cinema with loads of cool arcade games. Gotta love $10 tickets and being able to use a kiosk instead of queuing up to pay.
Chairs are super comfy and there is a lot of leg space. I just wish that babies were banned from movies that aren't meant for babies.
E.Newly refurbished.. Comfortable seats one star missing for me.. if they had recliners they would get 5 stars.. Nice clean bathrooms. . Would be good if movie theatres could sell some food items that is not junk food but maybe nuts or fresh juice as options but I maybe living in a dreamworld wanting this. We bring a lot of disabled kids here and trying to get them earing healthy at movies is hard as there ate no healthy options at all.
M.Recently refurbished cinema - clean and very well maintained theatres. The seats are wide and comfortable with heaps of leg room. The arm rests are easily big enough to provide comfortable distance between viewers but close enough you can hold each others hand if that's what you're in the mood for. The screens aren't huge so don't come expecting IMAX, but they're big enough and if anything it means the viewing angles are pretty good no matter where you sit. Friendly staff, heaps of electronic ticket machines if you'd rather do it yourself and a mini arcade to kill time before the show or hang about in afterwards. Very glad they're still going after COVID, a great entertainment asset to our community.
M.Date night at the movies with my partner was an awesome experience we had the theater to ourselves and if possible can you delete any footage as it got a bit steamy...

F.It's a very nice cinema since the refurbishment happened. I had my first experience of one of the 'ordinary' cinemas today. Think I'm going to give them a wide berth in future. I'm used to (and prefer) smaller cinemas now with roomier seats and more space. I've learned my lesson.
C.Has recently had a very good revamp. Even the toilets are actually nice to use now. Cinema seats have been upgraded. Decent room, nice material, good cup holders.

S.Great cinema. Still got the crazy patterned carpets and neon lights like the old cinemas. I love it. Also has an arcade area with games if you want to kill time before a showing. They show a variety of the latest blockbusters. The cinemas are a good size and the seats are comfortable - the arm rests can lift up if you like to cuddle. Ticket prices are $10 which makes it one of the cheapest. Good clean toilets. Staff are very helpful. Highly recommend this cinema.
P.It was nice to go back for the first time post lock downs. Seats were comfy and big. Space for your drink and popcorn on the arm rest. Since fn expensive for snacks. Games look way better as well.
T.The staff are friendly and helpful, ticket prices are good, food prices are exorbitant. The theaters are generally tidier than others I have visited. We enjoy the seats where you can choose to have the arm rest up or down. I would like to see more adult only screenings of movies. I love kids, had a few myself however, we don't want to be around noisy ones when we've paid to be transported elsewhere for an hour and a half.
L.Value for money cinema with $10 tickets! Not really a busy cinema so plenty of seat options and no long queues. Seating is standard and parking is dependant on availability as it is close to a lot of takeaway outlets and countdown.
A.Someone walked in in the last 10 minutes trying to make a child move seats as he came to the wrong cinema. There need to be staff directing ppl to the cinema.
Going to the cinema is just too expensive for a family. Popcorn and coke are cheap to make, maybe discount them to bring in more people.

J.Westcity is actually closer to me than Westgate but I like the newly renovated facilities at Westgate. New leather seating very comfortable I wished they had V Max and/or gold class. Sufficient parking outside cinemas and decent connection to Western Motorway SH16 and SH20 towards to the North.

A.This place is a great cinema- they show all the big titles in addition to hosting smaller, more niche festival films. The service is friendly and efficient, bathroom facilities are clean and plentiful, and they have plenty of options in terms of food and beverage at fairly affordable pricing. Their current $10 movies are a decent price to see all the must-watches. Online booking is made very easy. This cinema is fully wheelchair accessible.
Only downside is that you are not permitted to bring your own food or drink purchased from other locations.
A.Staffs are always attentive. Great sound quality. Seats have enough leg room and comfortable... although a part of me hopes they have reclining seats :)

S.The tickets are reasonably priced, the staff work hard to keep up with the customers. It is a modern movie theatre. I go to take my grandson. For myself I download films on my laptop at home. I find cinemas always have the sound too loud, and no matter how far back I sit it is always too close. There is no sense of intimacy in modern cinemas. Such a pity.

Had a delicious long black before the movie, and although it was a little slow to be made, the wait was worth it!
Parking was very good, and having a supermarket close was brilliant as we got the snacks for the kids from there to save a few $$.
M.Large cinema, has nice plush seats and places to sit before the movie starts. Well maintained, clean space, clean bathrooms.
H.Easy access and well signposted cinema complex. I can always find a free car park and the venue is clean. Love the comfortable seating and their excellent sound system. Plus the air conditioning is just right. Not freezing cold like Hoyts. A plus are the friendly young staff who work there at Westgate Events Cinema.
T.Very nice ambiance. Screens are not too big, and sound effects are not upto the latest tech. Gaming area is very good, kids can play and enjoy before or after the movie time. The theater has a shared parking space. Beside the theatre there are lot more for shopping and dinning.
M.Tickets here are quite reasonable and the chairs are really comfy. The only downside is that the chairs are actually really far from each other, which I guess can be a bonus if you don't like sitting beside strangers, but if you want to sit closer to someone it's not really a great setup.
N.We went to cinema to play arcade games. Nicely refurbished. Can't use coins anymore. Must buy a swipe card and load with moneys to play. Minimum $20

N.I went to watch I still Believe on 15.03.2020 and the seating area is very Nice and organised, I love the new set up as it's been a couple of years since I last visited.
The recliner chairs were pretty comfortable and the staff were all young and very kind and professional.
R.My local and nearest cinema. Ample parking day and night. The cinema itself is usually quiet, there's never a long line every time I go there. Inside there is a bar, seating area, and a Timezone play area with plenty of arcade machines to keep one busy while waiting for the cinema to open. The building and inside is a bit dated, but overall if you're looking for a pretty quiet cinema then look no further than this.
I do strongly recommend you book your tickets online to avoid waiting in line. Tickets are cheap too at $10 each for adult, and if you're booking online, add $1.35 on top of that for the booking fee. Please note that the booking fee of $1.35 is for each ticket purchased, so if you purchase 2 tickets, then the booking fee is $2.70, 3 tickets is $4.05 and so forth.
N.Love the new games area, the seats are super comfy and service is good. Been to watch Frozen 2 and The Voyage of Dr Dolittle. 10/10 for both movies. 5 year old loved it too.
R.Nice theatre, but has weird parking and entrance. I'd like to see more flavours than vanilla in the choc tops. Not enough women's toilets, it was insane in there after the movie, queues out the door

R.Upgrades are great. The new seats are very comfortable, the beds seem like a bit of overkill, but to each their own. The sound was very cool too.
S.Currently there is a lot of renovations going on, inside and out, making the experience less than perfect. Bathrooms need an upgrade, a LOT of wall space wasted for imagery, marketing and promotions. Many loiterers or antisocial persons linger, annoying theater goers, staff ignore them, perhaps to avoid conflict. New seating in cinema 1 is beautiful.
S.Been up graded with larger, more confortable chairs. They have also increased the price.
I suggest you don't sit on the side seats as there was a (very) cold draft coming down the walls.
D.Just a normal cinema, slightly dated with not many seats in the foyer, and the ones that are there have sags in them. Bathrooms are below average. Cinemas are good though, chairs are comfy and quite roomy. Good picture and sound.
M.I love a good movie. Centrally located at Westgate. With easy on and off access to the motorway. Parking can be tight when there's a new release but there is still plenty of parking behind BK towards Countdown. Standard refreshment options of popcorn and drinks. Good pricing in competition with Henderson and New Lynn $9.50 limited offer on 2D tickets at the moment. Book online and select your own seat options. Also offers a bar option for drinks. Arcade area and toilets.
K.Visited here on boxing day 2018 and the lines were huge and I was nervous we wouldn't get a good seat to Wreck it Ralph but no one was using the Kiosk so we tried it and its brilliant! Would reccomend the kiosk it's as easy as Countdowns self service ! In and out and if u order food they put u in front of everyone in line!

L.The movie was fantastic and the seats were very comfy, but the cinema wasn't cleaned before we went in and there was rubbish everywhere.
M.Could do with a little more "house keeping" seat comfortable enough. Prices for confectionery far to high. Deals are reasonable. You have to remember that at these prices some families struggle too go more than once in the holidays.

D.First time i have been to Events theatre and was impressed except for how freezing the air conditioner was. far too cold. Hoyts theatre also has lazy boys and.plenty of leg space for us poor old ladies who also have walking sticks or walkers. Maybe Events could do something like that.
A.Had such a great time. Love the cinema and air con. Best service from lovely young man at counter. He had glasses and very well groomed. He was very fast efficient and accurate. Will be back for sure!

E.Very nieche cinema. Built in the late 90s I think and Styled after the local airfield at whenuapai with airplanes and starry sky ceiling. Love the games area and the lay out of the complex. Close to great discount and outlet shops too

I.New refurbished cinemas with lots of space between seats, wide seats with lots of cushioning and cup holders, space to put your food on and finally seating plan and well visible and lit seating and row numbers.
T.I've been to this cinema dozens of times in my life and for as long as I live in the area, if nothing majorly changes, I shall continue to go. There's nothing wrong with the place and you can't complain about the ticket prices, it just ain't exceptional though.

E.Good place to be to keep up to date on movies. The Westgate's Event Cinema is just okay, plenty of space to sit. Easy to find parking even sometime you should allow yourself to walk a bit.
V.Nothing wrong with the theatre, the shop or staff , but attention needed in the toilets. The floor in the ladies was very dirty, with a build up of muck around the posts of the stalls. Very off putting.
R.I am sick and tired of coming to the cinema and having my enjoyment spoiled by cellphone users. There is a screen request to turn off your cellphone. Instead of that people carry on and use them, distracting those of us that paid to come and see a Movie. It's about time the cinema management took up the challenge to throw these people out.
If they don't, those of us that are Movie Goers will stay at home and download what we want to watch. Stick up a sign at the entry to the theaters making it clear that cellphone users are not welcome.
Failing this there is equipment one can get to send out a signal stopping cellphones from working at all. What a wonderful Idea...

J.One of my favourite Event cinemas in Auckland. Been going here for years. The seats are good, lots of space, and seems to play some good movies and good times. Also has a lot of eating places nearby to top of a good night.

J.The upgrade to this complex and the expanded arcade area has greatly improved this complex. I use to prefer other cinemas but this would be my first choice now.
K.as far as I'm aware the seating has been upgraded which now affects times for the $15 seats to $29 for a bed that people cuddle on no thanks .

J.Screen 6 not great quality - looked like the screen had ripples on one half which was a little distracting. May have been a warped screen or maybe issue withthe projector lens or window? Otherwise very standard cinema with no differentiating features.

D.Its getting worn down the place probably needs a upgrade i live out in avondale and take my family to either henderson st lukes or Westgate depends on what time the movie we want to watch is on.But now new theatre in new lynn is where we now mostly attend.
