Reviews of Te Whanau O Awataha Trust

Internationally reknown with well over 100,000 visitors from all places and walks of life since its inception, Awataha has been in operation for nearly 30 years. Over that time it has offered itself as a place and host for large meetings of importance for Maori, government organisations, corporate organisations and educational organisations.
Active in the promotion of Maori culture, Awataha Marae has provided a Maori culture for schools programme with over 10,000 students visiting and participating in these cultural activities. The schools on the North Shore of Auckland have maintained a regular connection to Awataha as "their Marae" on the North Shore
Tourism programmes and tourist cultural activities have also been an ongoing feature of offerings from Awataha Marae. The food and catering service provided at Awataha continues to maintain its high reputation for quality and value . Awataha Marae is well worth a booking for a Maori cultural and Marae experience
While it started as an Urban based pan-tribal Marae, it has now established its own roots with its own families and history. This has given it a new emphasis and direction for the next 30 years and further

This place has magic. Its understated and underrated. The team are lovely who run this place, their book collection is out of this world. We should all get behind it to support it to shine.
