D.Walked across this little gem today while visiting my hometown. Brought back memories of my childhood; my nan taking me to see classics such as Stuart Little, Fantasia 2000 and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 🤙
J.Olde World Charm. Beach, ice cream then a movie. Has amazing character. Its different.

S.A intimate little theatre in the charming seaside village of Sumner, which seems to cater often to slightly eccentric, academic or arty clienteles. The Hollywood has the usual snacks and wine available for purchase before the film, and the cosy theatre features comfortable (if not quite lounging) seats. The only small drawback is when you're seated in the left back 2-3 rows, the illuminated exit sign can be distracting.
D.Right in the heart of Sumner. Walking distance to all the eateries. Lovely little theatre with friendly staff. First time to watch a movie there and will be back.
J.Fantastic place! Highly recommend the Hollywood Theatre in Sumner. Lovely local cinema owned and run by the nicest people. Tickets are very reasonable and you're supporting a local business! Much better than those other overseas-owned joints around the city 😉

N.Well priced and great atmosphere. Serves alcohol also. Only reason for not 5 stars is equipment. Doesn't seem to have surround sound or it's not calibrated right and volume played a little low for an action film. But wil defo be returning.
N.Small theatre off the beaten track. Friendly staff and snack prices are better than the large multiplexes (although ticket prices are a dollar or two more). Non-allocated seating so be sure you're in the cinema early. If not, you may have to split up your party or get people to take up the 'buffer' seats that always occur in these situations.
J.Seats were old and low and uncomfortable.
l.Nice the seats are a bit weird and small. The popcorn isn't very nice either but other than that the people are great and kind! A plus is that you get ice cream to!!
J.Too cold to enjoy the experience...need to have the theatre at least at a comfortable temperature...always cold in there.

E.Watched Free Solo here. It was a smaller place, was quick to get tickets and popcorn, and the seats in the theatre were comfortable. Even sitting close to the front it was still great.

L.Great little community theatre. Okay, not the biggest screens or wizbangery sound system but a sweet little place with a cut wee bar. You can grab a cinemagoers meal deal at "salt" right next door I think.
M.Such a sweet old theatre and sweet staff. If bringing young kids you may want to BYOBS... Which in this case means Bring Your Own Booster Seat... Will help the littlies be able to see easier:)
N.Comfy seats. Good sound and screen quality. Limitations due to size. Esp tiny lobby. Otherwise quirky but fun.
R.I can't speak highly enough of the people who run this theatre. They have great movies and offer service that is beyond anything I've experienced in any other movie theatre. They deserve every bit of support we can offer.

M.In the seaside suburb/village of Sumner. Definitely an "alternative" theatre. Completely different from Hoyts. Intimate and friendly. Plays limited or specialised audiences movies.
S.A small but neat movie hall. The seats were comfortable an the sounds were ok. Not too bad. It's really tiny one though
K.What to say? It's quaint. The theaters are fine. Comfy enough. To be honest I just don't like the mainstream noisey establishments.

J.Sumner is so lucky to have this small multiplex which shows a good mix of mainstream and arthouse movies plus a good range of filmed opera and theatre.
R.Nice 3 multiplex. Small but pretty good. Cinema 1 is much better and larger than cinema 2. They run a variety of cinema - including world features!!
