"Could not be happier - I'm summer ready now and A LOT lighter. Thanks to the excellent team @ Laundromutt Dunedin for doing a fantastic job and being super friendly. I'll recommend them to all my fur-friends in Dunedin" Tiberius the border collie

Amazing grooms every time for our golden retriever. Jim, Judith and the team are lovely and always willing to provide advice as well. We always know our Cooper is in good hands here! Highly recommend.

Just moved to Dunedin and was nervous about finding a new doggie stylist for my fur baby.
Maddy and I are both super impressed ... maddy looks amazing. She had a ball with her new friends at Laundromutt... thanks team, you’ve got a fantastic business.

Exceptional customer service from the team at Laundromutt. Every care is take of our dog whilst attending his 3 monthly grooming visit. The team go to the extra trouble of hand stripping him and make an outstanding job of it. Our dog is always happy on pick up and is looking sharp with a cute wee banada making him look really spiffy and cute.

Wilson has been successfully groomed at Laundromutt on 8 occasions since 2016. Ashleigh’s post about the last groom is full of errors. And written to promote outrage. it is timely to put forward facts.
1.The owner sent me a txt after the groom saying that he was “…a wee bit disappointed at the quality of the work … as it was far from [our] normal high standards.” I replied back saying I would get back to him in the morning. The owner replied, “All good just thought I better let you know so no one else gives [me] a rark up.” No mention of bleeding nails.
2. The next day the owner made two points. The groom was not up to standard and he noticed the dog bleeding on the bed from a clipped nail and in pain. I presumed the bleeding was caused by a nicked nail quick and explained that it happened more often than was desirable but was easily remedied. I said that as I had not been present on the day of the groom and not seen the groom standard I could not comment further. I offered to redo the groom free of charge.
3. The owner said the offer to redo the groom would greatly inconvenience him. I offered to pick the dog up. He declined. He asked for a groom refund. I said that if he would not return the dog for rework there was not much we could do to remedy his complaint. The conversation mutually ended.
4. We then got a call from the SPCA to discuss a cruelty complaint from Ashleigh. Apparently we had “butchered" her dog’s nails. After our explanation the SPCA said that the circumstances fell well short of anything they would take action on.
5. Ashleigh then called, introduced herself and demanded an explanation. As she was not the dog’s owner I refused. Ashleigh said the owner wanted a full refund otherwise she would plaster it all over social media. I told her that I did not respond to extortion threats and hung up.
6. Ashleigh immediately called again saying she was a lawyer and the owner’s agent and repeated that she wanted a full refund. I explained that the contract with the owner did not entitle a refund. She gave me her e-mail address and asked for a copy of the contract. She repeated that if we did not pay up she would go on social media. I said that I would not respond to threats and hung up. This is not being rude. It is a reasonable response to bullying tactics.
7. Later that day I e-mailed Ashleigh a scan of the contract with the owner that has a provision wherein the groomer is not liable for minor nicks occurring during a groom.
8. Ashleigh then posted her comments. Note 1) the dog did not bleed at our shop; 2) I never hung up on the owner but did so twice with Ashleigh after her bullying threats; and 3) Ashleigh’s two calls occurred after her unsuccessful complaint to the SPCA and not before.
If “profuse” bleeding was observed at home after the groom why did they take the animal to the beach and make things worse? Profuse bleeding merits a trip to the Vet and not the beach. We suspect that the damage was caused at the beach. Has to be doesn’t it?
Ashleigh should contemplate the chances of any other groomer in town wanting to take their dog in, and post an apology for her outburst and behaviour unbecoming of a law professional.

Hi
I am the owner of the Trade Mark word "Laundromutt" in New Zealand.
Please note that Laundromutt Professional Dogs Groomers does not have a Facebook page.
The three Google search pages referencing Laundromutt Facebook were set up by the owners of The Dogs Body in an attempt to redirect our customers to them. The referenced Facebook pages were removed by Facebook because they contravened the Trade Marks Act 2002. However, and regrettably, the Google pages remain.
Alex, Jo and I look forward to seeing you.
