Reviews of Tamahere Reserve
K.
Undoubtedly a labour of love by the principal contributor to this reserve. Wonderfully enjoyable to visit on the way to Cambridge and so many unique spots to enjoy the stream or the surrounds.
G.
What a wonderful job the volunteers are doing. The reserve is slowly getting all the rubbish & weeds taken out. They're forming tracks & boardwalks. It's hard to get to, & their wheelbarrows keep on getting pinched. It's amazing what they've done so far - all so we can appreciate this special gully environment.
Because of its current steep access, I would only recommend it for the sure-footed.
T.
An easy walk in the gully bottom with optional loops and viewing boardwalks through established vegetation. On-going planting and monitoring. Access down and up the only steep access route is hazardous.
H.
Rad little community project. Access in and out is a bit steep so maybe not one for the very old or under maybe 2 years old but a great showcase of native flora and a really nice little track network. Dogs are allowed in on leashes. Very nice.
B.
Was a quiet walk...nice to see it being cared for a bit more...we combined it with a walk to the swing bridge at end of Woodcock rd.....nice afternoon out😊
G.
Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed every minute of out walk.
N.
It has quite a lot or potential its just a shame it is used as a dumping ground
Q.
Great place but needs more support to complete it
L.
Very interesting gully not far from Hamilton. Fantastic progress has been made by the community to develop this area into an interesting walkway showcasing the natural lie of the land. Great area for families to come and enjoy the walkway and see what hard work and dedicated people can achieve. The track can be challenging in places so care is needed when walking.
D.
This place is awesome for the whole family. It's not a big walk, get amongst nature. Not wheelchair friendly. Just to think a group of volunteers maintain this. Thank to all to allow people to enjoy the reserve.
D.
A great community project in progress. A huge amount of work has been done transforming this gully area from an overgrown area filled with invasive species back to it's natural state. A surprisingly clear clean stream (apparently housing some rare native eels) runs alongside the big attraction, a boardwalk that is still being worked on and extended. For some adventure, those who are feeling sure-footed can make their way around a series of single-board walkways resting on poles above the swamp. A hidden attraction that's well worth checking out.
B.
Just the first track down no steps. My wife has accident damaged ankle and the angle of desent was too steep. We cant go back until fixed. Otherwise enjoyable walk. Thanks.
J.

A.
Very nice walk, quite slippery
K.
Some garbage around the place, tires plastic, fallen trees.
S.
This is a nice little stroll where the bush is stunning and there is plenty of birdlife. I took an easy pace, and completed it in 30 minutes.
J.
Great little walk the community does a great job with the upkeep
Q.
A nice little getaway walk. Extremely calm and serene! Will definitely go back again!
