Initially visited for a coffee knowing Saturday morning parking in the Mount is a premium. We took a punt that there would be plenty of parking at the airport museum cafe, and there was. We enjoyed a perfect cup before deciding to check out the museum. There is so much to look at, so much history. Lunch in the cafe followed. A delicious control tower stack. This then led to a scenic flight over the Mount and Tauranga. A perfect day for it, cloudless sky and no wind. Overall a great experience.

Check in staff were fantastic! Very helpful and friendly especially as we had a toddler with oversize items. They could teach Wellington check in staff a lot!!

It's a small quaint airport. Not much to do here except board your flight.

Great regional airport that occasionally sees private jets land. In the centre of Mount Maunganui and Tauranga so a 15 to 20 minute drive will get you everywhere in the city. Has a cafe, drop off, short and long term parking. There's a newarby aviation museum and a swag of aeronautical based businesses on the airport grounds.

Plane we were booked on had a mechanical issue and we were quickly placed on an earlier flight to Auckland to catch connecting flight. Fantastic

No written notices about how to connect to wifi. Have to do it via hotspot. No comfy chairs with usb plugs beside them. Only bar stools with no backs or a half-circle chair cushion thing. Food is all gladwrapped i dividually which made me wonder jow lobg it had been there for,so i had none

A great airfield that offers much in service, entertainment & facilities. Classic Flyers is a class act & comes highly recommended. Just an easy flight from Ardmore by DC3.. try it.. you'll like it!!

Went to pick up my daughter at the airport, the cafe inside has been refurbished, now called the Wayfarer. Good selection of food and snacks, now wines as well. The Coffee is superb, I had decaff latte, strong, creamy and a lovely warm roast of 80/30 beans,the lady barista is excellent. Can highly recommend this lovely facility the next time you fly from Tauranga. Next coffee review, is the Wayfarer cafe in Tauranga Airport, beautiful strong, creamy decaff latte, wide range of coffees available, cakes and hot food. The airport lounge is newly refurbished, lovely, tastefully decorated, comfortable and super relaxing. Optical quality windows enable you to see incoming aircraft while sipping your coffee. Cafe staff are lovely, so helpful and cheerful, whether you are flying in or out orjust waiting for family and friends enjoy this experience, cannot praise it enough, highly recommended by your local Google guide.

20 mins free parking - bonus! If you are not checking in online the other option is to line up for the friendly personal service. No electronic check in machines at this regional airport. Loads of potential for celebrating & promoting the region's attractions inside the terminal

It's a nice little airport. It might not be big like Heathrow or Hong Kong international airport, but it does the job. Don't be fooled by the size though, the people there are amazing. Decent café as well...

Went in to drop my father off and due to the huge traffic issues (left 3/4 hour earlier than checking time we arrived 3 mins late and checking had closed. Lady at desk seemed nice but whoever she called would not allow late checkin even though he was ticket only. Rang Air NZ from airport they were awesome and could not believe it got to book but a week later. Where is the customer service TGA airport from whom I surmise must have been a supervisor. You must know the traffic issue in Tauranga at present and could grace 3 mins. Added later...the young lady on today was awesome customer service was excellent and could not have been more helpful. The boss could learn from her. She is what makes the airport a happier place. Both of them had to deal with a cancelled flight due to weather and handle the A-holes that that produces well. They did a great job.

The broccoli, orange, cranberry, aioli salad that I ate at the Tauranga Airport cafe this afternoon was outstanding. Fresh and healthy, it was great to have a nutritionally fulfilling salad without any ‘intolerance’ ingredients like onions. Thanks to the friendly team too.

You don't get a choice. This is the only regional airport for Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. Over the past couple of years, there has been considerable terminal expansion, upgrading and refurbishment, however, there are a few things missing attention... The only screens for arrivals and departures information are at one end of the terminal. Public broadcast messages often can't be heard down by the arrival - departures gates. On a positive note, there is more than one toilet now. There are car rental company counters and a food service kiosk. Refurbishment is quite attractive and still affords reasonable perception of space and height... Carparking is pay as you use with 20 minutes free for drop off /collect and reasonable rates. Long term parking also available in an adjacent outdoors ground level property...

Awesome, friendly and helpful service at the Wayfarer cafe here today. Lovely woman served me and was more than happy to answer my questions, was very friendly and made me feel like the total opposite of a burden! Her service genuinely made my day. Need more people like this at airport cafes!

Love the new reno and the toilets are nice and fresh. The new conveyer belt for luggage is awesome and placed near to arrivals. Good for seeing people off and when arriving....well planned. Love the fish tank in the corner.

My first time as usually I go to Auckland from Whangamata and park and fly. WOW .... Long Term Parking next Door. Easy check in . Comfy lounges .... Unheard of! and a great Cafe. S# So relaxed and easy. It helped make the usually 'dreaded trip' a pleasant experience.

In comparison to other airports around the world, this is just a small airport. However; the facility is great and there is food and drink which is a plus I guess. Problems include noise, waiting (but every airport has those), and small planes ✈️ are not as massive as others. Go to Auckland airport for those or somewhere in America... I don't know. The seating and layout last time I was there was pretty generic, unoriginal and impersonal. Feel free to review the airport if you want and contradict me 😂. Overall, 4/5.

This is one incredible airport, and the staff are absolutely lovely. It’s a beautiful modern airport serving about 20 flights per day. It has been recently modernised and it’s just a great airport.

Very helpful staff. Good access for cars. 20 min free parking. Taxis available but nearest public transport is quite a walk. Limited food options. Currently undergoing a lot of construction.

Under reconstruction but nothing interferes with going about what you are there for, being travel. It does block the great views you normally get here but once finished it will be back to all it's splendor. The coffee and food from the cafe is great as always.

The slowest place on planet earth to collect your luggage bar none!! One single Air NZ flight with a 15 minute wait plus the time to get to the luggage area and they must get all of ten flights per day at best LOL.

A standard regional airport. Has a small Air NZ lounge and a place to get coffee and some prepared foods. There is a TV on the wall, but if you have to spend any length of time there, then bring some entertainment.

Tauranga Airport is a small Regional Airport undergoing construction work at the moment, so there aren't many facilities on offer. There is a cafe and a seating area though.
