Reviews of Ahuriri Estuary Walk
J.
Watching a secondary school doing waka ama and land based activities around team building, knot tying, tabloids and water skills. Well organized and lots of learning, fun and enjoyment.

Always a great place to walk around the pond. 4km loop from playground and around.
Love the place , as clubs launch their waka from there daliy

Walk back a always great. My concern is how our local 'leaders' are using this important waterbirds sanctuary as a waste water dump.. If the word gets out internationally, our regional food exports could be questioned fit for market. Remembering competion is always watching!!!
L.
Beautiful walk, must check it out here!
D.
Was a lovely walk. Kids enjoyed seeing the crabs at the start of the walk
S.
Beautiful walk and soooo peaceful

Wonderful nature trail and soothing tidal estuary walk. Takes about an hour to walk from the vicinity of the Napier Sailing Club around the estuary, over the old Napier Bridge (no longer used for vehicular traffic) and back through gum tree plantation to the Sailing Club. On the way many varieties of migratory wading birds can be seen. Really recommend as there are so many interesting things to see and hear on the walk. Native birds including the Tui can be seen in the gum forest on the Southern side of the looped trail.

Love this walk. All flat interesting landscape
B.
Well worth a visit. Very pleasant on a still day. Fish visible on incoming tides occasionally. Plenty of parking at either end of walk.

I walk through here almost every day during the summer and it is popular with others walking, running and cycling. Various birds like the Kingfisher can be seen here especially ones feeding on crabs and other seafood. There is a playground and amenities (toilets and showers) near the start of the walkway as well as a place to hire kayaks.
