A.A fantastic free family destination for all ages! If you visit Napier this is a must see and hands down the best designed Park I've ever seen in New Zealand. There is high quality playground equipment for ALL ages and abilities, a splash pad area, a water play area, flying fox, musical equipment, volleyball Court, basketball court, skate park, a natural creek, dog areas, bbq areas, lots of shade from trees and shade sails, tables and adult seating, and 2 toilet facilities. It has been well planned and maintained and you can entertain the family for hours here, if you bring a picnic you could even make a day of it.
H.Anderson Park Playground in Napier is an excellent playground with a large variety of play equipment. Ranging from the mighty slide tower to water play and much more. There is something to entertain kids of all ages. Excellent facilities and plenty of parking. A great place to take the family on a nice day.
B.We love this park. The kids love it even more. The splash pad and other water fun is what makes this entertaining for our kids. Some of the tallest slides in the Bay. Lots of shady spots to lay out and take a nap. A huge set of meadows to fly kites on the weekends (and many do).
J.Huge playground with a variety of structures and areas appropriate for different ages. A go to of ours anytime we're in town with our kids. Has a toddler area, a rope climbing area set amidst trees, a tall tower with slides out the top, a couple of water play areas, plus all sorts of neat bits tucked in between.
V.This is the best designed play ground we have been to. Amazing fun challenges for the kids, great space utilisation. Lots of facilities and shaded areas
C.Very cool playground. There are so many different things to play with or play on. Good for the whole family and kids of all ages.
H.I'd say this playground is the most amazing one that i've ever seen in NZ. Luckily I happened to visit this playground when I went to napier. You could spend a whole day there and also it's very friendly in summer as there're a lot of shades. Really worth visiting!!
B.Lovely place for a child friendly outing. Cool areas for hot days and benches for picnic and barbecue. I only used the restrooms once and I wasn't impressed, I've never tried to use the restrooms again.
C.The home of Parkrun and many other clubs Anderson park is filled with an awesome playground for the kids and a big field for the dogs or kids to run around. The iway biking path also goes through the park. Anderson park can be used for biking walking or running.
T.Awesome place to play because it caters for all ages and we spent hours there today. Actually, a few more things for the babies to do other than swing would be good.

M.Awesome playground for children of all ages and abilities. There is water play here so if your child is likely to want to splash then come prepared. Plenty of toilet facilities. Accessible play area and toilets.
O.One of the best playgrounds I have been to.
M.Great extension to the existing park. Plenty of adventure and creativity equipment to entertain and keep the kids happy for hours. Also a cetre water feature to help cool down on those hot summers days. Plenty of areas to climb and swing with a junior and senior play area. This means younger children can play more freely without getting hurt. Come and let the kids explore. New toilets have been added close to the park.
M.Beautiful park, large and with a lagoon with ducks and swans. It also has games for children, a giant slide and a kind of zip line
t.there is a miniland.just 2dollars you can take a real steam train for a ride. So much fun here.
P.Fantastic playground for kids of all ages as well as a half basketball court and skate park. There is a nice path around the park for walking, biking, scooter or running, and a small lake which regularly has remote controlled boot races taking place. Plenty of toilets included. Best of all its free. Shame about the gang violence we have encountered twice on the adjacent grass area.
H.Went here with my friend's 8 and 9 year old girls, as they said it was their favourite playground, and I can see why! It has some really cool-looking modern play equipment, great shade and picnic seating, and the other great bits of the park nearby.

G.Always good to take the kids to the Park they love all the Rope climbs and slides. Great place to keep the Kids busy .
C.Cool playground that caters to all ages! Only downside was the presence of quite a large group of nefarious looking people. Police were also present which added to the uncertain atmosphere.

S.Expressive playground with areas for all ages, this park does have water fun so come prepared. Heaps of grass for a picnic or games, does have seated areas and BBQ and rest rooms are on site. This park has a skate park, quarter court for basketball, huge park and grass for days. The whole family can easily spend the whole day here.
M.Fantastic variety of playgrounds providing amusement for all ages of humans. Plenty of shade to sit in and plenty of fun activities to choose from.
Water park with sprinklers of all kinds was appreciated in the heat.
Lovely wide open spaces too. BIGGGG mature trees. Flat. Suitable for wheelchairs, scooters and strollers
J.First experience for me. Really impressed by the range of activities for all ages. My son is almost 4 and I had so much fun with him today.
Looking forward to the water park on a warmer day. Easy to keep him away from the water areas as the awesome slides are next door to distract.

G.The playground area is amazingly well thought out. There are activities for all sorts of ages and abilities. The water features look wonderful for warm days and also allow for parents to be near without getting wet.
The whole area works well together. Useful picnic area, toilets, room for scooters and bikes, great play areas. If I were to pick a single issue, it would be safe crossings of a reasonably busy road.
J.Great for the kids, going for a walk/bike, kicking the ball around.
R.Great park has a lot of entertaining things for children to do and a skate park. The park also has public toilets and drink fountains.
J.August2021: omgosh. We spent hours here.
Time goes really fast when there is a choice of areas to play, sit, walk and play more.
C.Great playground, has a flying fox, separate areas for younger and older children, water spray area and picnic tables. Only problem was the majority of the seating for adults is in the direct sun, it's not fenced and there isn't anywhere to safely sit and see the whole playground, so children could play and be seen wherever they went. The slide is really cool but the stairs to climb up to the slide are really low and kids kept hitting their heads as they climb up happened to almost every child I saw go up there. Overall lots of fun.
t.The skate park is average but still fun, you can also learn things I heard a kid say if your wheels have bald spots your gay and I never knew that
C.always a fun park..but maybe at this time of year council could do better to check for mushrooms and make it safer...they like to grow in the woody damp bark.
D.What a great park and play area for the kids. Went there with the grand daughter ( aged 2 ) and she had plenty of things to explore and play on.
J.This playground is amazing, we took kids ranging from 12 year to 3 years old here, and where just blown away with all there equipment. Even pop was enjoying playing with the water dam and his grandsons. We could spend all day here. I highly recommend this park.
J.Its a nice enough setting. There are seats to observe. Water taps and taps for the dogs. Signs are highly visible...do not let your dog or dogs drink or swim in the waterway. (TOXIC)

The only thing that would improve it would be more seating for parents etc & shade for the summer (including over seating & BBQ tables). Plus more parking - but that's happening apparently, not sure when.
G.Large park with an award winning children's playground. Huge grass area, winding walking/cycling paths, small streams, and a couple of nice ponds. Anderson Park is a wonderful place for young and old to get outside and away from screens. Popular with families, couples, and anyone wanting a bit of exercise.
N.Wonderful brand new playground with loads of activities. Swings, slides, flying foxes, climbing fort with at least 5+ types of climbing mechanisms and physically challenging rope/balance activities. Also a water play area with sprays, pumps and gates. I take my kids there and we can spend a good couple of hours having family fun.
S.This place is AMAZING! So many different activities for the kids, keeping them entertained for ages. Also great swings for babies, adults can sit on it too and swing. They thought of everything here. Splash pad included. One fo the greatest parks I've been too yet.
C.Such a fantastic park for children and adults. The playground is awesome and there is lots of different exciting equipment. I love the waterpark as well.
A.This place is an awesome place to take for family with an excellent updated play ground and rest room facilities.. BBQ area and more.. .. RC model boats use the small lake for recreation... Sailboats.
Two places to take dogs ... one leashed and unleashed.
Just spend a little time stretching your legs as a path encircles the park.
Plenty of trees for shade, shaded area's in the playground for the kids..
J.Great playground. Would suggest taking swimsuits and towels for the children as it has a great water play area. There is also a skate place nearby. Be prepared to stay a while as the children love it. Might need to think of taking a picnic.
J.The playground here is amazing. It has just been remodelled boasting several large slides. Trampolines and spinning discs are always kids favourites. The swing sets have many options with a twin swing, mum and baby swing and a disabled friendly swing with a harness. There is a music area and jungle themed gym are with roao bridges and climbing frames. In summer the splash pad is perfect for cooling off. There is picnic tables a hire BBQ and new toilet facilities. This is a great place to take the kids for a while afternoon of fun, it caters to all ages of children from toddlers to adults.
d.Great place to bring the kids and a picnic. Lots of interactive activities. Bring a towel as the kids love water play! Great venue to watch the Anderson Park runners every Saturday do their FREE timed runs at 8:00am.

S.One of the best playgrounds I have been to. Wide spread with lots of activities for kids of all ages. Musical instruments and a splash pad, so bring your tugs. Flying fox, swings etc. Toilet and a water fountain.

Rest rooms are locked early evening so be aware of this! Very well designed modern playground.

L.I haven't encountered a playground this good. Huge range of age appropriate gear and entertains kids of all ages for a looong time. If someone opened a cafe with cold drinks and coffee they would make a killing.

C.If people would take the initiative to take there rubbish home instead of leaving it everywhere around already full bins. This place could be one of the most beautiful place in Napier. Toilet facilities are now open past 830pm cooking facilities, huge playground and wild bird life
