Simply class A park. Beautiful shade trees marvelous water playground the ocean train and Kapiti Island. Good cafes and restaurants. An idyllic location for family picnics and fun.

Such a beautiful little park, family focused with plenty of activities and shade. Best children's train rides this side of the Bombay's with a fab beach around one corner and ice cream or chips around another. Must visit if you have young ones

The park is nice And quite big. The park has something for every share group. Most part of the kids year has no shade. If you child has sensitive skin and it’s a hot sunny day then make sure that they wear covered clothes. The water play area is big and kids really enjoy it. Some part of it is concrete so better if kids are wearing some grip shoes. Our 3 year old slipped and really badly scraped her knee.

I have known this park since I was a child . Now my own kids are too old to play , but its better than ever . There are too many features to mention , but if you're looking for a family gathering out ,then this is a sure thing for enjoyment . Even if you're older like me ,then watch the kids entertain themselves, while you picnic , have a bbq ,or take them for a ride on the different miniature trains . There are dairies , takeaways , cafes, beach access etc nearby . There is also many picnic tables strewn around the park in different areas .

Best playground to keep the kids occupied, especially on hot sunny days. Trains on Sunday afternoons, water park is fantastic, gas BBQ facilities to cook something,and close to restaurants and fish and chips. Nice gardens and playgrounds but the spashpad is the main attraction. The location is nice and sheltered so even if the beach is a bit breezy the park is a good spot. Plenty of picnic tables and a couple of BBQs.

My 2 and a half year old grandson had a ball of a time we took picnic along as it was a nice day to spend outside. The slide picture was taken recently but has been in marine gardens for years. The splash pad has been updated too and nice in the summer time. Shops within a stroll for coffee or drink and snacks or lunch

A really pleasant place to wander through, not much has changed since I was a teenager and lived in the area some thirty years ago. New tables and a water feature for the kids, as well as the old model trains running, makes it a great stop over for families.

Space to ride small toddler bikes. Miniature train rides. Sunny sheltered spot. Lots of picnic tables. Good amount of shade. Right next to the beach. Not fenced. Decent parking. Will make this a regular for sure. Stopped at Beach Rd Deli on our way up after ordering our food online for pick up. Perfect day out from the Hutt Valley.

Cool looking set up. The sprinkler/water cooling system is a great idea. Wish it could be developed even further with a pool , slides , obstacle courses , merry-go-rounds , a mini roller coaster , the sky's the limit? Throw in couple of spa pools while you're at it.

Fantastic playground for kids in the three to ten years age group with lots to do. Good shaded areas for sunny days. One by if parking. The water play area is excellent too and there's a great cafe/bar adjacent with views over the water out to Kapiti Island

There is fun for everyone. Plenty of stuff for kids, bring torg to play with water in the playground or on the beach. 2 x BBQ for family, so you don't have to wait. Great for a summer outdoor. Sometimes there are miniature trains that you can ride on for a few bucks.

Good place for a BBQ party. There is a public grill. Nice play area, the kids loved it. There is a boat ramp I think. The beach is nice. Lots of bathrooms and cloth changing facilities. There is a nice restaurant there as well. Lots of parking space. Entrance to the place is free. I highly recommend it for a good family day.

This is a great park for our toddlers and I think bigger kids will find plenty to do too. The splash pad is big and not as intimidating as Porirua. There is a model train - although I've never seen it going. There are bbq's - but again I think these are used infrequently. One of the best things about this spot us that on one side there are a few cafes, where you can pick up a cheese scone and a coffee, and on the other side there is a beautiful beach and a nice pub. What more could you want?

This is such a cool place to go- it is loved by everyone in the area. Featuring a water park, seating, a path to the beach, a mini train (which you can ride on), and of course a park area! There's a flying fox, a huge tyre swing, and a sandpit. This ticks all of the boxes, and even has a pool next door! It couldn't be placed in a better spot, did I mention the fish and chip shops nearby? 😉

Awesome sheltered park for a picnic with the family, complete with splash pad for water play and plenty of great playground equipment. There's also a mini rail line that can be ridden by the wee ones and parents for a small charge on weekends (maybe only Sundays?). There are picnic tables and even a BBQ for public use. The beach and shops are also just a short walk away. Brilliant for families!
