After trying to get my hair exactly how I want it for the last couple of years at different salons, Iron and Ivy have finally done it! The knowledge that everyone who works here has about how to get your hair in good condition and to look exactly how you want it is amazing and your made to feel so welcome from the moment you walk in the door. Couldn't recommend these guys enough especially if you're looking to go on a blonde journey and have hairdressers who actually really care. Thanks so much!

I've had my hair cut by Vic Carling lots of times & she always does a brilliant job (despite the fact that I'm a hairdresser's most boring client!) She's always super friendly, chatty & puts the customers at ease with her skills & personality. I've recommended her to a few friends & they've all been super happy with her service, too. Amazing work, amazing team! All very professional, they really know what they are doing. Responsible for my dream hair which was a massive transformation, they have now been looking after my hair for more than a year, making sure that it stays health and looking awesome. Lauren did an amazing job! She is a master at colour matching and covered the grey that has been creeping in just beautifully. She was able to get a very natural look and all the grey is gone. There’s no other place like Iron & Ivy in Queenstown: everyone is exceptional, from reception (always making sure you’re looked after and comfortable) to the artists (you can’t call them anything else except LEGENDS), it’s my favorite treat in so many levels! I hadn’t done any colour in years and found Niamh on Instagram: I only really considered doing so as her pictures showed how even after colour, the hair was extremely healthy. Booked an appointment to talk about what I wanted to do and do the hair strand (which I’ve learnt with them it’s a must do) and booked in a couple weeks later. Niamh is such an amazing & talented professional I trust her with my eyes closed. After my first colour I came back a couple months down the line, my hair super healthy and decided to go lighter for winter :) all pictures are of my hair but found on Niamh’s Instagram. Absolutely recommend: you do not need to go anywhere else!

I've had the pleasure of being a client of Iron & Ivy for almost a year now. I started going there when my talented hairdresser Niamh joined the team. All of the Iron & Ivy team are so friendly, always welcoming me by name or making a confidence boosting comment. I have 100% confidence in this salon as it's dedicated to upskilling on the latest techniques. Niamh always confidently recommends options with the knowledge to back it up. My long blonde hair is in the best condition of its life thanks to smoothing treatments, colours and extensions received. I've spent a large number of hours in this beautiful and relaxing salon and I love the fact it's totally ok if I want to have a deep in meaningful or just zone out, relax and enjoy the coffee and chocolate that is never forgotten! I also have to mention that I have been working with Niamh since May last year, preparing my hair for wedding that was suppose to be next week until lockdown happened. When the wedding cancelled we tried to put in place a plan B and Niamh went our of her way to help with hair and make up. Unfortunately, plan B was to fail too but Niamh was caring and compassionate and that was very much appreciated. I bet there is hundreds of ladies who can't wait for this lockdown to be lifted so we can be treated again in this incredible salon... I know I'm one of them! Call them today, you won't regret it! 100% reccommend!! I scheduled an appointment very short term and everything worked wonderfully. I usually have trust issues when it comes to hair cuts but as soon as I stepped into their salon (btw BEAUTIFUL!) I knew I could trust them with my whole heart. She made a few suggestions and I just told her to go for it.. very rare for me. It turned out absolutely beautiful. I was beyond satisfied, felt like a new person and worth a million bucks. Greeted every time with a huge smile and 'Hello' from Amy at reception, who knows your name - this is always lovely as it shows this is a business that cares about their clients from the onset. These little gestures really make a difference. The salon itself has a lovely feel with great music and design. They work together seamlessly to get each stage of your hair transformation completed (Alicia's head massages are to die for). The team especially Lauren were amazing. The salon is absolutely beautiful and the crazy plant lady in me loves the amount of green in the space. Kaitlyn styled my hair and absolutely nailed the brief of a voluminous wavey blow out. I have been a client of both Lauren and Karly's for years and have complete trust in their ability to transform my very fine hair. I have followed them from different salons to iron and Ivy. I am often making appointments with short notice and know I can book with any of the team with confidence. I had used hair extensions in the past however was not satisfied that they were not damaging my natural hair and in both instances removed them after a couple of weeks. When Lauren advised she was going to bring Great Lengths hair extensions to her salon I was confident I could trust her and Karly's expertise. I have had the new extensions for about a month just for adding thickness to the natural length of my hair and they have been amazing. They are extremely fine joins and barely noticable to me wearing them/sleeping in them. I have had both tape in and Keratin bond extensions in the past and this is absolutely a superior experience. I would recommend trying them to anyone who has fine hair and wants to add volume or length.

I always had this fear of going to the hairdresser in a foreign country as I have always been disappointed from hairdressers from a country speaking my language. Letting them know that, Niamh took extra care to listen and double check with me what I wanted. She has taken the time to explain what she was doing while applying products on my haid. I was on holidays in Queenstown in need of a haircut and found it easy to book in. The salon was professional, very clean and ultra stylish. The girls were lovely and Jodie did a fantastic job cutting my hair. I only wish the salon was situated back home so I could keep coming back!

I have never coloured my hair so was a bit nervous when i was choosing a place for my first colour (I wanted to go a bit blonder but nothing too crazy). I was recommended Iron and Ivy, and it was the best decision i ever made for my hair - Niamh took me through the entire process, discussed various options with me and has been looking after my hair ever since. We went through a number of Instagram pictures and chose the style and colour, i ended up with balayage which gave me "surfers" looks. I got so many compliments, it is unbelievable! I have asked for easy maintenance colour and cut, and this is what i got! I follow Niamh recommendations for treatments and products religiously and my hair looks great - it is soft, no split ends, not dry etc. Even though i was looking for colour specialist, i am now going to Niamh for my cuts - I have tried different salons and artists in the last 3 years and finally found the best. I loved the fact that Niamh does what she believes is best for you and does not follow every client desire - it shows integrity and high professionalism. She wouldn't recommend anything that might damage your hair or will not look good on you. The studio is located 15 min drive from central Queenstown, there is plenty of parking and few coffee shops if you arrive early. It is a beautiful place with huge windows and nice atmosphere and they also sell hair products , e.g. Evo hair which is hard to find in this part of the world.

Lauren your doing an amazing job with Iron + ivy! Back in Auckland I had a horrible experience with another hairdresser resulting in bald patches and burns. After moving down south I reached out to Iron + ivy in absolute desperation as a last gasp to find somewhere that could help me regain my confidence. And thank goodness I did. I met Lauren and Karly for a consultation and they spent time and listened to my concerns and we made a plan moving foward where I could end up beautiful hair again. I met Lauren and the team a few months back after reading incredible reviews online. My hair was in horrible condition due to previous experiences at other salons so I visited for a consultation with low expectation just to see what they’d suggest. The best part about the experience was that all the hairdressers including the owner confided in each other and bounced off ideas until they came to the best possible solution for me and my hair goals. They recommended that I complete a series of Olaplex treatments before deciding to bleach any further. In a matter of weeks I noticed that my hair felt so much thicker and it actually started to grow!! Niamh dedicated almost a whole day to pampering and lightening my hair and I’m now the blondest I’ve ever been in my life after almost 10 years of trying to go lighter.
