Absolute gem of an experience! Wife and I had a wonderful time soaking in the pool while surrounded by nature with a view of the canyon and stream. Staffs were friendly and helpful, compliment snacks and drinks are just enough to make this more enjoyable.

We had a wonderful time at Onsen. Been wanting to go for years and finally made it. We did the outdoor pool as it was a nice day. Temperature was perfect and view was amazing. Snacks and drinks were good but would be great if you could get more 😅 I think if I come again I'll look at doing the spa package to feel super duper relaxed. Would also be amazing to come back in Winter!

A Queenstown must! Amazing experience and the views are incredible. Shuttle service is really handy for pick up and drop off. The outdoor pool experience was great, and 1h is a perfect time to spend in the tub. Facilities were really clean and tidy. Spacious change rooms and showers available with soaps, hair driers etc with no extra cost. Will definitely be coming back!

came here for the second time yesterday as every time my family and I come to queenstown, the onsen pools are a must visit location. the views, first of all are so beautiful and unique with the contributing factors of their wonderful warm pools. the whole experience is then further improved with their choices of snacks and drinks. the whole atmosphere of the pools were obviously designed with thought and were ultimately so calming and relaxing. all in all, I’ll definitely be back again and recommend this place to all those who want to find a calm and positive location after a long and busy year. :)) ❣️

Absolutely awesome experience. My friend and I went first thing in the morning and this was such an amazing way to start the day. So relaxing and the views were just stunning with the beautiful fall colours. Loved the complimentary glass of bubbles and chocolates. Very nice service from the girls at the front desk, we forgot a bag for our wet swimsuits and they nicely gave us one.

I'm sure you all have seen the pictures before, but here is another one. Great spot to relax in. They provide a snack and drink with the package. The staff are friendly. They also provide free transport from outside shotover jet in Queenstown which is extremely helpful.

Absolutely stunning views and great experience. Great staff. Booked on red balloon as they had a after pay option. We had the outdoor pool which was brilliant. Time went super fast really nice touch with the snack and drink while In the pool. Would highly recommend and will also return next time. Thanks team.

I could not praise this place more! I am still raving to friends on how its the best full body massage I have ever had! I couldn’t have been looked after any better and have no criticisms at all. I didn’t want to leave.

Friendly staff; pleasant and calming as a spa should be. The scent is not overpowering but rather relaxing. The towels and robe smells clean too. The soak is amazing - huge tub, treats and marvelous view. You obviously can't see the mountains if you do a night soak, but it's just as incredible and relaxing. The treatments are perfect. The packages are pricey but well worth it. I actually wanted to give it a 5-star but the toilet was a big letdown.

Dream location if you are there at the right time, sunny at 9PM during summer hours, this was our second time and was magical, First time we went in midday sun around 230pm, but the second time was a totally better experience

This place is amazing. Highly recommended with the amazing views and friendly staff. Have been here several times and never had a bad experience. The hot pools are amazing whether you visit during the day or at night and the spa treatment is worth every dollar if your looking to treat yourself.

Had the Ultimate Relaxation package which include 45 minutes soak and 1 hour treatment. I chose the Pure Fiji Bespoke Massage with deep tissue and medium pressure. It was the best massage I have received in a long time. I feel so rejuvenated afterwards. Must do again. Be sure to book in advance during the peak season to not miss out.

Had hot tub soak and massage. Fantastic service from the massage ladies and their receptionist, massage was brilliant. Bit disappointed in the main reception. When we left no checking to see if everything was okay, got a good bye, but need a little more friendliness and customer interaction in order to make the whole experience a truly wonderful experience. Other than that top job!!!

Absolutely loved it! We visited whilst in town on our honeymoon, and it was a definite highlight of our trip. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly and did everything to make our experience the best it possibly could be. As it was our honeymoon, they treated us to a little surprise, the nice little touch they put around the pool was amazing. Really enjoyed the massage, it was bliss. Definitely cant wait to come back.

I think this the best spa in Queenstown. The view is amazing! No matter is day or night! Just you can bring kids with you at the night time. Comes with drink and snacks. It feels so good! The only thing I don’t like is the access stairs to the premises, it’s long long stairs down to the premises, it will be slippery when raining or winter, not too good for disabled as well.

I did the hour-long traditional soak, it was very good. It’s completely private, so we can’t hear or see neighbouring units, with a private shower for rinsing before and after the soak. Toilets are separate from the private tubs. They also provide water besides the complimentary drink and snack. I was alone and when I asked if it’s possible to take a photo of me in the tub with the view, one of the staff (I forgot to ask her name) offered to come in 10 minutes after the start to do that and she did(: thank you so much !

Nice spot and lovely to have a hot pool. Like everything in QT it's about 25% - 50% overpriced but if you get over that it's a lovely time. The toilet/shower facility is limited (need more) and the changing rooms small. Kind of odd to have to share changing room given price $150 for an hour. Will need some tidying up before too long as it doesn't look shiny and new. It's good enough, but keeping in mind $150/hr they're selling high end! Lots of staff, nice service, friendly!

The most wonderful experience in Queenstown, you can not miss it! The experience is so luxurious and the onsen is great value for money as well. Definitely fun with a small group of people. They provide a drink and snack on arrival too. They provide a towel so you only need to bring your swimmers. For good photos go in the morning so you have good lighting. Night time experience is also incredible. Highly recommend!!

An incredible experience with the most stunning backdrop you could ever imagine. We booked three months prior to our visit to ensure we could get a session which suited our travel plans. The reception staff were lovely and we felt well looked after; the waiting area is well appointed with beautiful furniture and the same incredible views as the pools themselves. We opted for the Original Onsen experience (previously called the Tandeki) and found the one hour just long enough to wind down and relax. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Queenstown looking for a luxurious, relaxing experience.

The Onsen Pool throughly exceeded my expectations of absolute bliss, a very romantic experience. We spent an hour in a relaxing private hot pool overlooking a stunning outdoor scenic view, we were given complimentary beverages & snacks. I also wanted a photo of us which the staff were happy to take for us. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to have started NYE in Queenstown. Definitely will return in the future, 100% recommend!

We felt a bit mixed about our experience here. We chose the hot pool with massage combination which meant we didn’t get the cool looking hot tubs featured on the socials and website but rather a wooden bath set far back in the room so didn’t have such good views. The massage was good though. I would go again but I’d request the old style tub and would maybe not take the last session of the day as it felt like everyone was waiting for us to leave.

Really a great experience when combined with a massage. Grab a drink beforehand at Red Rock if you are taking the shuttle from town. The shuttle basically picks up out front and you only get one drink at the Onsen.

VISIT: end of February 2020 SERVICE: The Outdoor Onsen I would mark this pretty high to do on your list to do in Queenstown. I just happened across their site and when we asked locals about it, they said it's very romantic. I just feel like we could never get something like this in America that's this well kept and I felt the price was decent. We booked the day before as we weren't sure where in our trip we could fit this and it ended up perfectly the day after our bike tour and later in the afternoon from our kayak tour, so helped us soothe our muscles at the same time. They have a free shuttle that picks you up in town, which was easy for us since we had no transportation. They drop you back off at the same place too. The facility has gorgeous and clean bathrooms and within your own Onsen you have a private shower that you can wash off before and after you get into the Onsen. There is also an outdoor (private) bench where you can change and leave your clothes. There is also a cold water spout, in case the water gets too warm for you. The attendants will knock on the door and tell you how much time left of your soak. A bonus is you get to watch the shotover canyon boats glide past you from your hot tub which was pretty entertaining! Our outdoor onsen came with 2 drinks and 2 snacks which actually had an impressive list with the drinks including beers and cider and nonalcoholic options and snacks ranged from chips and ice cream! Water is also included. Just based on this short experience, I have reason to believe that any experience here will be magical!

I got sucked into the Onsen experience by all the Instagram photos I've seen but honestly, it was a blissful experience. Sitting outside, snuggly warm, cool rain coming down, wine in hand, stunning view. . What more could you want.

Had the Serenity experience and it was an experience worth remembering. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and the atmosphere was relaxing and soothing. We had a beautiful view of the shotover river and got some of the sunset. Finished our spa with a massage which was the best! Also got refreshing drinks and snacks throughout our session which was lovely! If you have the chance, spend a little more and indulge on the Serenity package, otherwise, just having a spa with views of the shotover river is more than enough!

Only a few minutes drive from Queenstown. We came here after trekking and never felt more relaxed! Friendly staff and spectacular views from the tubs. Only thing that put us off were the glasses for the drinks - it was plastic and looked dirty and really worn off. Not that we really care but for a pricey place it could have been better.

My wife has been to over 70 countries, and by far her favorite by a landslide is New Zealand. So much so that she was more than game to go again with me on my first visit. We started in Auckland, and ended up in Queenstown. This isn't a large town or city, but it's charming as hell. This is a wonderland for those who love to be outdoors. Wineries, lugeing, boating on the lake, you name it it is to be had in Queensland. This hot spring is a few minutes outside the city proper. Once you arrive, the staff really knows how to treat the customers. Appointments are usually an hour. This amount of time will fly right by. Just sit back and relax with the simply amazing view of the river and mountains. This place is probably mind-blowing in the winter. The contrast to me would seem most amazing.

It is a nice romantic dip in Queenstown. - It is popular so do book early - need to walk down quite a few fights after parking, so it is quite painful to do it after a big hike and there was no warning anywhere about this. Also after the dip and your body is all relaxed, you have to climb up the flights again…. - the wooden tube looks black. It is advised Onsen does continuously flow of the water into the hot pool. Overall, it does not live up to the Instagram hype but good money value.

I love the onsen hot pools. It one of mine, and also most of every other New Zealanders, top attraction whilst in Queenstown. I've been as a couple, with my mum and a group of friends so far. It is relaxing. Next time I go, I am wanting to book a spa treatment.

We booked the one hour original Onsen - Amazing & relaxing to look out onto the shotover! Champagne and crisps were delicious, only thing would be someone to help take a quick photo for you... One hour did not feel long enough... next time I’ll consider adding on a massage, although definitely a step up in price for that one! One suggestion... shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the showers, with the price paid it would be a small bonus for those who get their hair a bit wet and forget theirs 👌🏼

AMAZING!! Couldn't rate this place highly enough. Pure relaxation, fancy spa environment. Includes free drink and snack and they let us keep a metal drink bottle as a souvenir! The water was the perfect temperature and the time flew by, perfect for a relaxing afternoon, or after a long flight. We booked the ultimate relaxation and pure Fiji bespoke massage for 2. The spa itself was nice, nothing amazing, just really simple and the view is not as great as it seems. We soaked for what felt like half an hour (was actually 45 minutes) and our spa temperature was very hot, even after adding a lot of water. The massage was nice, again, not amazing just nice. The staff were friendly. Overall experience was okay, definitely not worth the price we paid ($470) and wouldn’t do it again

Very nice views I came on a cold rainy day it was perfect the temperature of the spa so relaxing staff where friendly I booked a private room where you can operate the glass doors to open and close refreshments included strongly advise to book in advance during the peak seasons. A must-do if you’re in Queenstown. The hot pools were so relaxing, rooms were private and we enjoyed the spectacular view. Customer service was excellent, and changing our booking time via email was a very quick and easy process.

There is a decent section of the fence “missing” between the pools such that you run the risk of your neighbors seeing you if you try to change outta your suit in your section.

One of the best, most relaxing and amazing experiences I’ve had in the south island! I booked one of their new outdoor onsen—initially wanted to try the original onsen as it seemed more private, but all are fully booked. So opted for this, and it was still fantastic! Upon entrance, we were asked to choose among options of wine, tea, or bubbles plus chocolate or ice cream. Then, after a few minutes of waiting, we were ushered into our hot pool. Stayed for about an hour in the hot pool, with an unhindered view of the mountains. The contrast of the warm water was perfect with the slightly chilly weather, and the Brut Champagne and Whittakers chocolate was a perfect addition to an already great experience ❤️ A highly recommended Queenstown experience! 👍

This was an absolutely amazing experience! Book in advance so you get the time slot you want. It’s a short walk from the car park to reception so if it’s raining when you visit remember to take an umbrella for the walk back to your car.

Spent our last night in Queenstown by going to the hot pools. The view were breathtaking and very relaxing experience. Such a beautiful experience from the entrance to leaving, everything has wonderful presentation and atmosphere and the hot pools are lovely. It would be nice if there were more private changing rooms but it didn't take out of our experience.

A hot pool experience with a view that is truly memorable. The main attraction of this place is the view. The setup is warm and cosy and relaxing but the view truly takes your breathe away. This place is always booked out so be sure to book at least 6 months in advance.

First time we've ever visited Onsen Hot Pools and they've exceeded all our expectations. The staff we're so friendly and approachable, which made the experience right off the bat. The pool views were stunning and the room was private enough for a couple. The complimentary selection of the snacks and drinks we're also great, being able to select from a variety of chocolate OR ice cream. Overall it was a great way to relax after day of hiking and shopping. 10/10 would recommend for anyone visiting Queenstown.

Great experience and great view. Complete amenities and good service. The spa water was on the lukewarm side - the rinse shower felt hotter and would have been a nice temperature for the spa pool. Could be because we had our booking at 8pm, late in the day. A temperature controller set by customer would be nice. on our visit we feel like we were cut short to our 60mins booking. Mega relaxing hot tub with some incredible views. Really romantic! The review was a special package my wife and I got for our honeymoon. It included a massage + 1hr in onsen. The service is amazing. You get treated like Royalty. For your hot tub you get to choose a wine, beer, or fruit juice. You can relax in the lounge and take in the views before being taken to your room. As you are called and led downstairs you will have that “holy sh$&@!” Moment when they open the door to your onsen. Your view is amazeballs. The 1 hour is super relaxing. We watched it as the sun was going down so it was relaxing and beautiful to see the landscape change colors. After the hour for the hot tub was over we were led to our massage room. Can’t rave enough about the quality of the masseuse. Very personable and asked what sort of massage we want. I fell asleep for a bit. Overall the massage was the right amount of pressure. Would come back and highly recommend. Oh, and after the massage we were invited in the lobby for tea and chocolate. A nice touch to an already incredible experience.

Absolutely worth it (for the massage+pool package). The experience from walking in the door all the way through the post massage refreshments is pure indulgence. The pools (currently only 6 but they are building several others) have amazing views of the shotover River and the jet boats whizzing up it. All the yessss!!! A million times yes. Onsen is amazing!! I want to move in there! We booked the hot pool for an hour followed by an hour massage. We were greeted by friendly front door staff. They asked which drink and snack we wanted. We filled out a short form for the masseuse and then were taken to our pool. It is so incredible. The views mixed with the warm pool was fantastic!! Our snacks and drinks were down there waiting for us! After a wonderful soak we went to a different room for our massages. My masseuse was fantastic. She was professional, nice and did an amazing job. I felt soooo relaxed. After the massage we were given a juice with another snack and allowed to relax a bit more before we headed out. Our experience was the absolute best. I would highly highly recommend!!!!

We booked the dusk slot and we saw the sunset right in the warmth of our onsen. water temperature is slightly lower than those in Japan, but warm enough. Quite pricey. You can access by either self-drive or they order a pick-up service form Queenstown. Bring your our towels or they’ll charge you towel fees. Water is provide during the dip and other refreshments for a fee. The view is priceless.

We took the extra package which included a snack, a drink, water and a towel each. It was a nice little treat. There doesn't seem to be any signs to discourage bringing your own food and treats whilst at the baths, but bear in mind there is a little bit of a climb to get back to the car park. After our session, we relaxed a little more in the lounge/reception before leaving. I would recommend this is there is space and the goal is to unwind. LOVED THIS PLACE!! Booked an ‘Ultimate Relaxation’ package that includes one hour in the hot spa (with a drink and snacks) and 1 hour massage. You can choose from non alcoholic drinks and alcoholic drinks. You also have a choice of chocolates, chips and ice cream for snacks. Be sure to organize a courier shuttle to pick you up from central Queenstown (corner of Camp and Shotover streets, outside AJ Hackett bungy) that will take you to the place for free but it’s only a 10-15 drive up if you have a car. Once there we had our own hot spa area with a shower within it and a stunning view in nice hot water. You can keep the hot pool indoor or outdoor as there is a rolling gate that you can either open or close. After the hot pools, we had a one hour body massage that was awesome and so relaxing. At the end we had a selection of nice teas to choose from and a little dessert. Fantastic place, highly recommend! Delivered on all expectations - clean, awesome and friendly staff, awesome views and we were definitely nice and relaxed!! Will come back again when there is snow on the mountains 😍

The best part of this experience was the fact that we are able to gaze out into the night sky and the entire milky-way above us. The onsen hot tub is in a private room with an unblock view of the night sky over the shotover canyon. The ambience was amazing although 1 hour was a slightly awkward time. The snack turned out to be extremely basic (chocolate and/or vanilla/chocolate ice cream...) for the amount we are paying. Will advice to ditch the addition and bring your own if you must.

It was so pretty with the lanterns on too. We had the package that included massages afterwards. It was a crazy amazing luxurious pampering session that made me want to quit my job and spend the rest of my life on a massage table. One other thing - the raw cheesecakes they served at the end with tea were so delicious that we wanted to visit the store. However it turns out they're made to order and the woman who makes them does it on the side to her full time job. Her cake business is called Remarkably Raw and I'd highly recommend her cakes.

A good experience overall. When booking a hot pool you get a room with a hot tub and a view of the landscape to yourself. A shutter can be brought down in case of rain, but it's otherwise open air. You can enjoy the peaceful mountainside though the the shotover riverboat jet experiences drives down in the river below (not really a nuisance though). You get the room for an hour and it comes with a shower, but if you choose to enjoy the hot pool for the full hour, you'll need to use the single shared and slightly grotty shower located in the hallway. Changing rooms do not have a toilet or shower. Free WiFi is provided and the waiting area is quite nice. You park at the top and then make your way down a long downhill pathway (with stairs) to the hot pools facility.

The staff was mostly helpful, although I don't like when finished you don't have enough time to take a shower, so you have to go to the common area, but you can't use any locker as are only for the other pools, so, if you want to have a shower there you have to take your clothes into the shower with you. This place is absolutely stunning! We did the Tandeki Onsen where you get snacks and a drink which I recommend doing as it really compliments the experience. We had a private pool in the morning for an hour with views over the Shotover River. It was so incredibly relaxing and romantic I didn't want to leave. I recommend booking over a month in advance as we left it to a few weeks before we visited Queenstown and the only slots left were very early in the morning. If I went back I'd do a sunset pool as I imagine that would be magical.

Visited Onsen Hot Pools and Spa for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. Lovely venue and from the moment you walk in the staff are very attentive. We had a 45 minute hot tub soak followed by a 1 hour massage. The hot tubs are very private and relaxing with a view over the Shotover River. There is a choice of wine or bubbles plus a snack and a carafe of water. Our massage was well worth it and we both felt relaxed and revived. As it was dark when we left, there is a choice of either a well lit path or steps up to the carpark. Would recommend Onsen Hot Pools and Spa.

A special experience when in Queenstown. Shuttle services are complimentary when you book your experience in advance. The whole experience was very nice however I realized the timings for the sessions were overtly strict. Basically the hour starts as soon as you step in the reception which I thought was a bit unfair. We were booked for a session at 1:00 pm. We were picked up in the shuttle and we entered the pool approx at 12:48 however we got the buzzer (advance warning 10 mins before session ends) at 1:28 ! That was a bit disappointing, apart from that everything was 👍.

I highly recommend to anyone looking for a little spa experience. I have two tips for the managers to help make it a better experience. First, the windows on the garage doors need to be cleaned. Secondly, it would have been nice if we were shown the changing areas while we waited for our spa to be ready. In our case, the attendant didn't leave us in our room until 5 minutes after the hour so we felt rushed to change so we would lose any more of our time.

We've been quite a few times to Onsen and the actual pool and views themselves is 5 Star. The view is breathtaking. Why this isn't 5 Star and why we were disappointed is that this is no longer a "private" experience They've done something strange with the doors making them see-through at the top and bottom and while you're trying to relax you can't help but feel you're being watched from behind which takes away from the WHOLE Experience (We've been prior to the door privacy issue and it was immaculate 5 Star) Furthermore the communication about when we were supposed to get out and what would happen was vague the second time around - we were just about to get out on time when the staff came into the room while we were getting dressed I was well aware we were on a time clock and we were not over our time (I was keeping track - again not something relaxing) Whatever they've done to hurry people out, remove the privacy in the way of making it more efficient has actually taken away from the magic. If you don't mind that the privacy isn't what it used to be and you're okay keeping your own timer then sure the view and experience itself is world class. You can't take that away. It feels clean and the view is just stunning it'll blow you away.

It is absolutely worth hitting his place up. Scenery is fantastic pols are fantastic. The winded however are see through which makes it a pretty painful shower & change process. Which a combined shower & changing facility would fix but there isn't any of those. Also too limited drink and snack range. Entry hall could use an espresso machine and maybe some cabinet food also? It just feels like too much of a lack of supporting services in sacrifice for the hype and beautiful views. Room for improvement whilst still being a must see.

Private outdoor tubs have a half wall on each side, so the people next to you can see you when you're in your tub. Although we made a mistake and came one day too soon for our booking, coming back for the the service pays our mistake. Temperature was perfect, shower inside the pools made it more private to wash, complete amenities if you needed, shared changing room for extra time was enough, and the waiting room fitted with a very comfortable sofa, a nice ambiance, and soothing scent. The views? As everyone can see on the photos, it was amazing. I believe a sunset time might be even better. A bit of stargazing at night might be great as well. Onsen is a special place. I brought a group and we took 4 of the pools. The staff was ready for us when we arrived, efficient in getting us into the rooms, and the group had a wonderful experience. The snack items are fine, but the room itself, with an incredible view and relaxing soak is worth the effort of getting to the spa and the cost of the experience. Give them a try - you'll be glad you did. Of particular note, the tea selection is out of this world. It's great and not to be missed.

Really lovely place, I booked for 9.30pm for the indoor pool with retractable roof which was perfect as it offered good privacy. Lovely to get a drink and a snack and you could control the tub and the retractable roof. Even managed to see part of the milkway as it was a clear evening. I did feel a bit weird as the door to the pool is clear so people walking through the corridor can kinda see into your pool room. If you were getting changed in the room this might be an issue although you could hide in the shower part which has it's own wall or change in one of the changing rooms / bathrooms opposite you room. Would defintely come here again. It was such a relaxing evening and everything is so clean. The bathrooms are delightful and the staff were absolutely lovely.

However, on our most recent time visiting we chose to try the new outdoor onsen and while it was beautiful it wasn't as private as the original onsen. You can see into the next hot tub quite clearly. I would rate the original onsen as 5 stars but the new outdoor one as 4 stars on this reason alone. Truly recommend though.

Great place to unwind from the gauntlet of activities queenstown has to offer. The hotpool into a massage routine leaves you refreshed and ready to go. For a top market spa, it had room to grown. The owner should take the routine and nitpick it. Little things such as the utterly confusing layout that the staff have to explain to every guess could be helped by having art on the walls for a sense of direction or by adding more signage. Instead of passing the client's from staff to staff one staff member should guide you from place to place for a personal touch. I have to get changed downstairs, get in a robe (which was missing) the go back up stairs to get into the private tub? Why can't there be a button to close the window, change, get in the hot tube then press another button to be greeted by the view in an awe moment guests will never forget? Removal headrests could be added to the tubs up stairs so your head isn't resting on the wood. Staff also seem to run everywhere? So fit. These are nitpick'a though. Everyone should still go, its the second best massage I've ever had, anywhere in the world.

Glass railings and shade sails, for what I assume were the spas below, blocked what was supposed to to be unhindered views. Also the noise and chatter from the spas below came up and was not relaxing. The jets were on the wrong side of the bath so if you used them you were looking at the wall.

It was a beautiful experience! From the easy checkin process to getting notified that our pool was ready everything flowed seamlessly. The pools and changing rooms were very clean! We enjoyed the wine and ice cream as well. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Queenstown to put this on their bucket list.

I booked the ultimate relaxation package for 2 and we both really enjoyed the massage portion, the staff were all very friendly, the place was clean and welcoming. The view from the pools was breathtaking but the pool itself wasn't all that hot. Everything else was great and I'd definitely recommend this place. They take great care of their guests.

Beautiful place. We went from 8-10pm so we could experience day and night. I think generally guests would spend an hour. An hour would be enough time but I feel like maybe a tad rushed once you shower before and after. On arrival you are greeted and are able to select drinks and snacks. Pretty small serves (snack size) and given we had booked and paid for double the time, thought maybe we would get extra. I love the experience I had though and would defiantly go again. There is nothing really stopping you from taking your own snacks and drinks in either. Personally liked the day side as you get to look out at the view but both amazing in their own right.

the onsen private rooms are super beautiful and excellent touches. but the doors to them are horrible - dont lock, and people are loud out in the hall and constantly walking by the half frosted glass. Also had a massage and the massage therapist really didn't listen to what I said (multiple times) or the recent injury I noted on the paperwork. Was a real bummer. I would def want to go back to the private pools because the view and the room really is amazing but I wish they were a bit more private. Also just know the water is heavily chlorinated.

Lovely hour spent relaxing with the shot over river in the background. The spa as a whole is quite up market and the hostesses are all lovely. It was quite confusing to read on the website that they aren’t a licensed venue so cannot serve you alcohol but upon arrival are offered beer, cider or bubbles. It’s worth noting (we got this lucky tidbit of info from some fellow travelers) that they don’t change the water between appointments, so get their early (and enjoy the alcohol before 12 ;) for water that’s not had 35 different bodies in it before you!

The pool was epic and the service from the crew is to be applauded. Special mention to Geni who gave me the best massage experience in New Zealand. I reside in Auckland and it’s unfortunate I can’t have Geni all the time as i regularly get a massage at least once a month. Oh well, if you ever go to Onsen, ask for this best deep tissue therapist Geni.

What an amazing way to start the day. We were greeted by some lovely friendly staff and shown to our own private hot pool. The temperature of the water was just perfect and the views out over the shotover river are just breathtaking. This was such a lovely way to relax after some very busy days travelling around the South Island. It is a bit pricey but I would definitely do this again. Superb experience! Having the whole private bath tub beautifully lit by candlelight under the stars was so special we immediately went back to the reception after our session to book another slot for the following day. Unfortunately all the pools were fully booked for the next few weeks (that's just how crazily popular they are!). A must-do in Queenstown and remember to book early! (We booked 4 months in advance!)

Absolutely loved the whole experience. We went at night and it was a beautiful starry night. We had ice cream and wine whilst relaxing in the spa and the mood lighting was great, too. I would have given 5 stars, my only gripe was that we had to wait 40mins to go back in the shuttle. But apart from that an amazing and relaxing experience that I would recommend on a cold night in Queenstown. Staff were really friendly, too.

Relaxing atmosphere. Nice scenery. Hot pools were nice, could maybe have been a bit hotter. Massage was really relaxing, great service and a nice team. Only wish they had more shower facilities and had offered these after the massage so we didn't leave covered in oil.

The pools themselves are a blissful way to spend an hour, particularly after a big hike! We got the tandeki package; and not sure it’s really worth it - the size of the sparkling wine was about half a glass, and the snacks were measly. Probably would just do straight spa experience next time.

My partner and I went to the original Onsen experience at night and got the most amazing veiw of the stars from the hot pool. The entire facility is clean, modern, beautiful and very romantic with friendly and welcoming staff. Going at night you definitely run the risk of having a cloudy night and not getting the priceless view, so if you not willing to take the gamble then book a day time session. But this was a once in a life time experience and ill never forget it, its the top of my list must do things in queenstown

Really nice environment. Every room has a private hot pool that opens up to a view overlooking a gorgeous valley and mountains. Just know that's It's hot pools... and that's it. In my opinion to promote repeat business It would be 20 times better if they served some wine/drinks (they don't have a liquor license), and had massage services. Maybe you guys could have a little cafe area with some nibbles too? It would be nicer (and more worth your time getting out to this place) to do the hot pool, go for a massage, and then sit with your girlfriend's in the cafe enjoying some wine and cheese... But at the moment it's just the hot pool. Still nice though. Worth a try. Def a must for the tourist!!
