This is best place of entertainment and for natural spa. They got nice dress changing place here. Lots car parking near the Spa Park Thermal Pools. I like the river water also. Though it’s cool. I love this place.

Lake taupo for a swim across rd to Tongariro park! Climb the mast! Swing high, A game of chess all at this park Yeh!

Beautiful spot, good for little ones as alot of shallow spots and perfect temperature.

Amazing and awesome winding down for the weekend ahead.

5 min walk from the main beach & limited parking at the southern end, it is not so crowded. There are pockets of warm ground water seeping up in the shallows and areas of normal cool lake water too. It is a pleasant area for swim.

The water was very pleasant indeed. Quite shallow, ranging from knee deep to waist deep for the majority of the area. Significant volcanic heat evident mere inches below the surface of the sandy bottom. This is a definite favourite spot now.

Amazing beach and a lovely waterfront walk. At certain spots on the beach hot water comes up from the ground (was news to me!) so advisable to take a mini spade to make a small 'fort' to capture the hot water in a pool and relax in it! What would make it even better is if there was someone walking around with a cart with drinks and/or ice-cream but be prepared to take your rubbish with you! Also nice place to feed ducks, birds, swans etc 😍👍👌

Great beach with tremendous view

A very nice spot for the kids, close to a tidy restroom and ample parking. Was a little dirty down this end so better to move out a little and quite rocky close to shore but once you get out a little its lovely.

The lake is just off the main road and if you're passing through it's worth a stop. Upon arrival you'll notice a bunch of ducks, black swans, pigeons and sparrows. You're allowed to feed them and they're mostly friendly. Although the swans are a bit snappy for the bits of food. The lakeside has parking and you can have your camper there for the night.

Very moving. The particular display they had is now gone, but if it's anything to go by, their presentation was top notch. Whatever display or theme they have, I would recommend the guided tour. If you try to go through on your own, you will miss so much and much of the significance will be lost unless you are well learned in whatever the content of the display is.

Lots of families and heaps of parking. Water is crystal clear and not overly cold.

Not that warm, you have to dig a bit in the shallows, and it gets pretty reedy if you swim out. However, it is a beautiful chilled out picnic spot with publically available BBQs, coffee nearby, plenty of open grass and sand to just hang out.

Beautiful place. we always stop in on our trips. even if it's just for a few minutes. serene with beautiful views of the maunga. (mountain) whether youre local to taupo or visiting or even driving through. definitely reccomend going here. changing rooms and bathrooms available. as well as a great place for a picnic on a good day.

Its just a hot spring running down into the lake. Depends on how full the lake is to how good it is, but great free experience 4 tourists, no facilities but has toilets there too.

Unexpected. Nice and warm.

1st stop in Taupo after having some fish&chips. We met there locals and some another tourist as us. Weather dependable place for enjoying it fully. Toalets are close, enough space for changing clothes

Patches of warm water due to thermal activity. Dig your toes into the sand to feel the warmth too!

Some parts are cold, some warm, some hot and some scalding. So care has to be taken, but worth experiencing.

The ducks and swans love rolled oats and its way better for them than bread.
