Great Cinema. Comfortable seats. Amazing audio. Prices are average. They often have the collector cups for the movie you're seeing which is always a bonus. Friendly staff and if there is a queue it's normally moving pretty quick. To dark in here to take a photo. 😅

My son and I went on an impromptu date here and enjoyed the experience a lot. Now he suggests going to see a movie when he never wanted to before. Ice cream was yum! and Frozen coke was great. Next time we will only need one box of popcorn!

This is such a best kept secret. Sadly for the business customer numbers are down but just great for me. Large empty theatres with great movie choices at amazing prices. Treat yourself!

Great experience, good to see they are following the traffic light guidance and requiring vaccine certification for entry. Makes me feel at ease.

There appares to be only one staff member on and we visited during the school holidays. He gave vague instructions on were out movie was, and there was no one there checking the tickets. Facilities weren't as clean as they use to be and there was no one monitoring were people sat in the theatre so social distancing rules weren't followed.

Nice experience. But, felt like sound was little bit low. Action movies should be played with more volume.

Awesome to share with whānau. Doesn't matter where you sit in the theater, it's still a great feeling to watch with great surround sound.

Well maintained cinema complex. Prices seem a bit high, but this could be due to lack of competition in the area. The actual cinemas are quite small too, so if you're planning on seeing a popular movie book in advance so you're not sitting right up against the screen. Staff are friendly and efficient

This one's on the better side of Cinemas. There are many screens to accommodate the vast amount of people. Comfortable seating which is also low enough so you can easily see over the seat/person in front of you. Ticket prices are standard with online booking available for an even faster booking experience. A good selection of snacks and drinks. Alcoholic beverages are also available. There's a small games room to the side with some arcade style games and Air Hockey.

Food prices very expensive, seating it old. It's probbest to keep the tickets at a low prices considering there are new cinemas around. If I was going to pay the same price, I'd rather drive to the lakes for better seating 💺 😌

Easy parking in the evenings as Tauranga city is normally empty. 8 cinemas, so lots of options.

Always clean, good sound and location of the seats. Apparently the chairs are comfortable enough to have a snooze if the movie is not quite what you expected, hehe!

A more old-fashioned type of cinema, as they used to be. For me, therefore charming. Hope it stays. Parking, a big problem!! Toilets also fewer, more dated. Still, like this cinema, but the parking during the day especially - just forget it!

Great service, friendly staff. Dealt with all the covid stuff superbly.

Cinema is well-presented; staff are friendly, theatres are anyways clean etc. Only major issue is sound quality; sometimes it's okay, sometimes it's way too quiet for a proper theatre, sometimes it's all over the place. It's the only game in town though, so what are you gonna do.

Prices are good. $10 per person (more realistic). Seats are comfortable and cinema complex is clean. However the toilets, although clean, are in desperate need of refurbishment.

Only a small thing, perhaps a bit of cleaning as there was a bit of rubbish left in drink holder when we arrived.

It was awesome the prices were great and The Ghostbusters movie was awesome

Loved movie Belfast. Very quiet there

Went to see a movie at the beginning of the week and being the first time there, I was nicely surprised at there atmosphere. Cinema was small, but adequate, sound system great, seating comfortable. Only draw back, we arrived just as the movie started so had to grope in the dark to find our seats, maybe the could have soft lighting strips along the wall to assist with this.

The event cinemas are great with well maintained facility's. Movies are often reasonably full.

This is an alright cinema located in the heart of Tauranga. When we went at 9pm there was easy parking, I am not sure however if this is the case for all times though. We watched the latest star wars film here and the viewing experience was good. Not the cleanest cinema but it was fine. Big complaint is how many add there are before the film. Great customer service and the staff were very helpful

Great friendly and helpful staff. All the usual food and treats you would expect make for a great movie experience. Cinemas are a little on the smaller side but still plenty of big screen to enjoy the latest films.

Okay but had to stand outside in cold waiting till just after 3:30pm when session was starting at 3:45. Great ticket prices

Mostly the only theatre featuring Indian movies in tauranga

All a bit mixed up really. Tickets electronically on our phone didn't match the cinemas in the flesh but the staff were friendly, if not as confused as we were. Cinemas are needing a but of love bit still in good shape. Price is way too high. Wouldn't take my family....

Staff are friendly but they should hire more in the peak times, the last three times we have been they've had problems with the popcorn machine, frozen coke machine and haven't had food as stated on their menu. Good session times but the complex as a whole could do with an upgrade

Not bad but not great either....bit of a whinge just to the fact of paying $17.00 And then having to put up with 25 minutes of ads, not trailers....ads! High prices for drinks and food as always and that's still half the fun of sneaking 5kg of snacks past the half asleep people taking the tickets and herding the public into the right rooms for the viewing pleasure...all in all its a fun occasional outing.

Event cinema Tauranga central is a good theater with great sound. The only thing I would say is that the seats in some of the cinemas could do with a clean.

Not the best, but not the worst, is the only way to describe this place. The screens aren't very, but each theatre seats only around 40 people, so the screen size is not much of an issue. The food is very overpriced, 7$ for a bag of maltesers. It may not be the best, but you'll keep going back... There any many other options around.

Not all staff are pleasant. My ticket and snack purchase was taken by a young lady who didn't seem to care and spoke down to me during the transaction. The cinema itself is extremely comfortable, always clean and inviting.

Vastly overpriced. I rarely go to the movies due to the cost and I sure as hell don't pay the exorbitant prices they charge for drinks and snacks. The only redeeming features are that it's cheaper on Tuesdays and if you join the Cinebuzz club they have cheaper movies of the week.

Great place to go and watch the latest movies on offer. Large theatres and they are very accommodating when looking for particulars like an end of row seat. Small game area near ticket booth. Good selection of food and drink. Only problem is lack of seating while you wait to be able to enter the movie.

While watching Aladdin at 5:50pm on friday the 21st we kept hearing the bass of the movie next door through out the movie and could literally feel the vibrations in the seat. It was very distracting would be better if they looked into sound proofing or even turning sound down a little. But saying that, this is a new issue that I have never experienced before in this cinema

Our family went to watch the Jumanji movie at Event Cinemas in the city. It was a lot of fun. Everyone got drinks and popcorn as well as a Jumanji cup for 2 of us. The seats were clean and so were the toilets. The movie was very good too. Good cinema in central Tauranga.

Ok cinema, bathroom facilities & theatre were clean. Food is way... Overpriced tho. Almost $6 for a bottle of pump water which is ridiculous when you can often buy a 1.5ltr from the supermarket for $1-$2! Then theres the $5 choc top ice cream (small). Glad we pre purchased tickets online which saved time.

Always nice to relax and watch a good movie with some treats. Comfortable seating and staff were great. Only let down is the long lines to get tickets and food . Maybe more checkouts for.rush times.

Very average place to watch movies. They don't even have a cup holder in the seats which is sad!! Also not enough food stalls to have a munch. Only good thing is they have the latest bollywood flicks in tauranga..

Good cinema. Worth buying tickets online first as many movies get sold out. Highly recommend the kids Disney sing along movies that Event put on every so often.

Very busy with holiday program kids...cinemas chairs could use a clean....book on line to ensure a seat...we were disappointed and missed out even tho the movie was still saying seats available. ..food way over priced!!

I have always like this cinema. Back in the early 1980's it use to be only one cinema. It had red curtains at the entrance and included mid movie interludes. I'm pretty sure you were allowed to smoke inside also... Anyway the other night we experienced loud bass sounds from the cinema beside ours, which made it hard to hear. So the manager took care of our next screenings for us. Much appreciated! Thank you.

Nice clean venue to come watch the latest releasing movies! Can easily book online or pay for your tickets over the counter. Decent selection of snack foods although its pricey to get a decent amount. Over all i recommended. A+

Good cinema, always very tidy, have found a couple of times when visiting the bar has been closed (assuming as no duty manager working) so can't take advantage of some of their combos which include an alcoholic beverage.

Fun movie but the seating is rubbish & not very comfortable.

This cinemas here event cinemas in tauranga has a lot of different movies to watch. I must also add that I am pleased with the array of great viewing times during the days of the week as there seems to be many time slots to choose from. Never really an issue to find parking near by also to go and see a movie.

Didn't end up going, the website suggested they had John Wick 3 playing but got there to find out this wasn't the case. Maybe the website needs to be updated to suit. The cinema itself looks awesome though

Event Tauranga is pretty much the same as it has been for 20 years give or take one or two new cinemas. If you want to watch the latest release movies on the big screen this will do it for you! Two frustrations though are that if you're wanting to see a movie in 3D and it's not a guaranteed blockbuster you HAVE to see it in the first week, after that something else takes over in 3D, had this a number of times. And now and then when you book you don't realise you're in one of the smaller cinemas (it doesn't warn you). Twice I've booked tickets, at full price, only to get there and find out it's in the tiny theatre with a screen only a few times bigger than your average TV. Should be discounted in there. Otherwise though it's fine.

The selection of food and drink was pretty small, and as usual was expensive, but the theater itself was great. Didnt have leg cramped seats :).

Queues can be long, with people backed up to the back wall. Movies can sell out so buy online or come early. Staff are friendly. Theater itself is comfy enough, standard seats.

Vastly over priced. I don't bother wasting money on their exorbitantly over priced snacks. $5 For a chocolate coated ice cream? I don't think so. Movie's cheaper when playing in the tiny little theatre with a home theatre projector and sound system? Nope.

Fairly standard cinema located in downtown Tauranga. It's always clean and tidy with friendly staff. If your plans are to pair a film with a dinner out, I would recommend this cinema over the Mt Maunganui ones as there's more on offer within walking distance.

Seamless entry into theatres of which there are five in same building. Great seating arrangements. Once a week there is free coffee for Seniors.

Good temperature in theatre and dialogue/ music not too loud. We enjoyed the outing to see RAMS.

Needs more seats in the reception/waiting area in Tauranga. Saw a lady that couldn't walk/stand for too long but had to wait a long time before being into the cinema. Other people were sitting on the floor...

Needs a refurb and upgrade. Also don’t get the hotdogs, they’re terrible and take forever to prepare. Some of the screens are quite small. Otherwise good.

Chairs are a little uncomfortable and they will need to pick their game up as Bayfair does their upgrades. Would have liked to see Star Wars on the bigger screens too

Good place to watch a movie plus only $10 a ticket

The staff were really efficient, but the popcorn was extremely salty and I couldn't finish it, the theatre was fairly clean and movie quality fine

Always a great experience at Event cinemas. Only downside is it depends which staff members are on. Some arectruely awesome while others you can clearly see hate their jobs 😐

Great customer service as I paid for my tickets online not realizing my boy couldn't see Logan for (R16) restrictions manager changed our tickets to another movie so we didn't leave disappointed.

It's not very big cinema. There are some car parks in front of it, handy location if you need to do some shopping around.
