Reviews of Yatton Park
H.
Yatton Park is a best keep secret in Tauranga most people would drive pass and would take no notice of the Park
Hey U and I took a special look today
I went to take some pictures to show everyone what they were missing
The Park has a 💧water feature
There is a area BBQ
Children play area
There is a rambling walk 🚶♀️around the trees 🌳 most of the trees that are there have story's that about when why they were planted
I remember when I was fleet of foot the group I was in they gave us a piece of paper with the names of the trees to identify we all had a great 👍😀👌time
When we finished we had a BBQ
If you have a disability it's like walking or you use wheelchair ♿ or walking sticks the paths are good 👍
It also welcomes 🐕 dogs
Well behaved 🐕
Not like Hey U if I let him off his leash he would be off like a bat out of he'll
B.
Nice big open grass area's with beautiful huge trees. Has a coun operated Bbq and has bench and table seats. Nice picnic area for the family to unwind and enjoy.
M.
Just a really nice place to go for a walk I love it you can take the track out the back all the way to Fraser cove worth checking out if you are local and haven't seen it before 👍
C.
This park is much bigger than it appears from the road and goes a long way back, all the way to the estuary.
Car parking can be a bit limited.
There are public toilets at the front of the park near the car park.
On some weekends you can local fruit sellers on Fraser rd out the front of the park.
There are two public use BBQs near two picnic tables.
There is a playground with an inground trampoline.
My children love having leaf boat races down the water feature.
C.
Lovely park with heaps of things for the kids to discover.
We usually come here to hunt for Pokemon in Pokemon Go all day long and have the kids have a break every so often in the water.
Its also very dog friendly.
There are a couple of BBQs there for people who want to throw a steak or some sausages on the BBQ.
Only downside is that there is a limited amount of parking inside the park and the park is usually quite crowded on the weekend.
M.
This is my favourite city park in New Zealand. There is a lovely water feature and plenty of lawn for picnics, but the main attractions are the many absolutely massive trees. There are a variety of very interesting trees that are not native to New Zealand. Stunning place.
There are a few nice tracks that take you down to the lower marshy level where there is a board walk.
C.
A fab place to take a stroll and walk the dog pack a picnic!
m.
Awesome walking track for small humans
S.
A beautiful park with plenty of trees.I had an enjoyable walk with my grandchildren.
v.
Lots of big shaded areas to sit and plenty of room to run around. Public toilets are available and picnic tables. Bbqs are not currently usable so we took our own down.
r.
Great park. Would've given 5 stars but the service was lacking. We sat at one of the tables for twenty minutes and no one came to take our order, ended up having to eat our own picnic instead.
K.
Great atmosphere for a long walk and things to do for the lil ones as well. And good to learn about different species of trees from around the world.
H.
Beautiful place. Always love going here. Like my mother didn't a perfect spot for your wedding pictures, it's so magical in spring
M.
A beautiful spot for a walk on a sunny day... the gardens are immaculate!
L.
Such a lovely park, what a beautiful place to spend a few hours on a sunny day.
K.
This place is great in any weather, thanks to a walk around under canopy. I go when it's drizzling, or to get out of the sun in summer.
m.
Great park for picnics kids birthday parties, good facilities
C.
Lovely under the trees on a hot day. Just a meandering place not a dedicated walk area
J.
Lovely spot to take a walk, have a picnic, learn a bit of local history
K.
Pleasant walk and picnic in the park with a cooling breeze on this hot evening
R.
Great park for the kids and good shaded areas with nearby seats
M.
Needs a more in the playground area but its perfect for a picnic
S.
Always lovely & peaceful. Just a shame there isn't a playground for older children & more seats positioned in the shade. The land was originallg sold by the Maoris ten eventually developed by the TCC so it should definitely be referred to as Yatton Park ONLY.
J.
Excellent park. Just need a dog pool
P.
Lovely dog friendly park . Learned boxing there in the mill rec room in the 50s . Also played & swam in the swimming hole @ the back of the park . Also a foundation member of the Greerton swimming club @ the then new swimming pool . Eileen Barry president & Milly Foreman Secretary, my mother.
J.
Best trees!! Gorgeous gardens.
P.
Biggest Queensland Kauri outside of Queensland! Amazing Japanese Cedars. All planted in 1860s. Huge trees!
K.
Was delighted to read the blurb about the hystoric significance of Yatton park and Tauranga history.
D.
Nice park well maintained, take the dog or kids or yourself a long the easy grade path, among big old trees or have a picnic amongst very nice gardens some water features and harbour views. One of my favourite parks in NZ.
W.
Very nice small park has free bq
P.
Unusual. Trees from all over the world dating back 160 years. Beautiful walk. Lovely gardens and a link track to Fraser Cove. Great views of Waimapu Stream and the estuary.
D.
This is the favourite place in the world for my dogs, they absolutely love it here!
E.
Lovely park with lots of fine species of trees. Is a dog friendly park with a good young children's playground.
l.
Absolutely beautiful park to walk your doggy. Some pretty amazing exotic trees.
S.
Great place to have a picnic, stroll around the gardens, take the dog for a run, or play with kids. Small playground. Lots of lovely established trees. Lots of shady areas. Well maintained. Close to other attractions. Public toilets available

B.
Lovely to visit and a quiet wasteful area to visit...and to walk the dog.
P.
Love Yatton Park! Water features, ponds, bridge, kids playground, grass areas to kick a ball around, BBQs, forest with MASSIVE trees to explore with your dogs. Good for photos, picnics, walks and parties. Parking a bit tight, but try the other end of the park through the arched entranceway if you can't find a spot.
Toilets on site.
I.
This is a great suburban park with historical fact sheets dotted around. Named native and exotic trees abound. There's views over the Waipuna River and estuary, walks under the massive trees, some of which must be well over 100 years old. Fronting the road is a large grassed area with barbecue and a new play ground. A small water fall with 'stream' flowing through to a pond is central in the park.
A great area to walk the dog, chill, look at the views, or have family time with a BBQ meal.
M.
Great place to walk the dog.nice gardens and huge trees. Public toilets.barbequerf available.pond and water feature..parking available.responsible dog owners.. rubbish containers for dog poop.
T.
This a wonderful pet friendly park. I take my cat there regularly, he loves the trees.
M.
Great place to take grand kids on their bikes (ours too!!). It was a hot day so the water fall had our feet ducked in. (The pool at the bottom was rather green. Difficult to keep clear I guess!). Thanks for the up keep Council.
T.
Good walks and BBQ area plenty of space for kids to burn off excess energy
D.
This is a dog exercise area also, why I went there. Needs a fenced off area for dogs and owners to play as no offense but too many families with young children which young children even thou I usually like most, do not mix if your dog is like mine, a rescue dog that some children abused so I am on constant alert, not that I expect it to happen again but he is weary of children and don't like kids approaching him without me there. Also thou lovely with streams, hills, bridges, lots of raised paving - it is not wheelchair friendly at all. I made the effort to go somewhere different to relax out and chill with my boy but was not able too. On constant watch. Ended up packing up early and leaving.
G.
Really nice place to walk, meet, chill. There is a nice walking track that takes to across Fraser Reserve and out onto Fraser Cove.
M.
Beautiful park. Great for children and for walks... Has lots of threes and a couple of footpath down to the river. Lovely place.
Park is open from 8am to 8pm in spring and summer, and from 8am to 5pm in autumn and winter
i.
Beautiful place to relax in a busy day
M.
Beautiful park, nice and tidy. Good walking tracks
F.
Lovely park. Love all the different trees and kids enjoy the waterfall. Too bad there is a lot of dog poo otherwise it would be a perfect gettaway in the middle of town.
K.
Good place for picnicking/bbq with a decent playground and good walks amongst the trees and a track to the waterfront and ask reserve. A good water feature with two ponds with a waterfall and stream connecting them
M.

W.

R.
