Absolutely worth doing, picturesque walk - easy before you start climbing beyond the point where DOC track goes its way and you see a narrow path winding up with the warning of climbing at your own risk. Just be careful, and you'll enjoy stunning views on top!

Rugged but one of the most stunning shorelines you could wish to see. Highly recommend going even if you only go once.

Incredible views and challenging but rewarding walk. You can do it two ways, either take the track from the end of the carpark through tussock, low shrubs and next to farmland, otherwise from the beach there are steps which meet up to the summit track. We chose the longer walk from the carpark, it took us 40mins to get to the top, walking at a leisurely pace, taking in the views and snapping pictures. From the beach it will take 20-25 mins. The track is dirt so don't reccommend doing if it has been or is currently raining. Also wouldn't reccommend climbing the summit track if there are high winds, this would be pretty treacherous. We are intermediate level walkers and had trainers on which were adequate. Definately take some water and a snack for the top. We walked back to the carpark via the steps down to the beach where we encountered a sun bathing seal. Highly recommend this amazing walk. Stopped for Chips and a beer at the Whakataki Hotel

Well maintained walk to magnificent views

A postcard town that is so surreal that you have to be there yourself to experience it.... The Deliverance Cove Track is an easy track that provide breathtaking panaromic view of Castlepoint. NOTE: don't risk taking dangerous selfies or else a drop from the sheer cliff can be fatal....be considerable, I don't wish to see the track closed because of such ignorant acts.

This place is amazing! Didnt even get around to checking the bar and pub out as we were so busy exploring! The lighthouse is a definite must to go look at! They give you stairs to climb down below and explore also a ladder to go even further! If you arrive at low tide you can walk beside the ocean and lighthouse island (onthe leftside) and discover a hidden cavern that is usually "guarded" by a seal! I named it Dewgong cuz its fancy. :) If ya feel adventure calling then scramble up the goat path up to the top of the ROCK and get gorgeous views for sunrise/set

A must do

Can be very windy but on a sunny day the views are just amazing. Nice walk. And you can spend the night at the car park with the self contained.

Well maintained track to lighthouse...awesome views and what a stunning little town.

Walked out along the beach towards Castle Rock. Then up the stairs and returned via the ridge and through the pines to the car park. Lots of variety and the height gives a different perspective to the rock formations.

Beautiful landscape, great community, and wonderful beaches in the summer. In winter it can get quite windy and very dramatic around the point rocks. If you go in a storm, it gets extremely exciting and the waves can crash over the peaks. Also great if you're into fossils. The road is also longer than expected but a great drive never the less.

Nice easy walk.

A great walk despite the wind. I was part of the Rotary group that built the track 20 years ago. A shame that DOC can't deliver on the agreed and now required maintenance. Narrow walking path now enclosed by long grass and thistles.

Good walk with good scenery around the cove, can loop back along the beach. Unofficial track up to the little mound (though be very careful of eroding cliff edge on the seaward side)

Beautiful day supplied thanks to Mother Nature for my first experience of this area. Great walking tracks and beautiful views. Highly recommend.

Spectacular scenery with walking track to lighthouse and along the rocks. Viewpoints. Walking track around the cove and also up Castle rock. Seats to rest and gaze. A unique area with reef and lagoon. Lighthouse puts on a colour display at night.

Great place to spend a nice day. Just make sure it's not too windy. The sheltered beach is great for kids and the walk up to the lighthouse offers some great views.

Amazing rock formation well worth visit.

Great views over Castlepoint and Christmas Bay. There is an unofficial walkway to the top of Castle Rock, which is definitely worth climbing up. The official walkway is a very easy walk and the unofficial walkway requires a reasonable degree of fitness.

The area is great, the beach is great and the light house is extra special as it is operational at night as well as a colour light show when dark.
